She had hoped to make a quick exit, but she’s stopped in her tracks half way to the door. She’d not sat through a church service since leaving her home town. Unless you counted the incident with the feather. Zed did not.
Zed glanced to the wallet, amber hues taking in the familiar object. She nodded. “It is.” Her lips lift into a grateful smile. “Thank you. I’m sure you’d have gotten half way home before I realised.”
