#johnyau panel at #thejewishmuseum with @jo_halvo @angeldufuche and @judithlinhares
#johnyau @hyperallergic on #ellenbirkenblit “Lines Roar” directed my @mogollonny @drawingcenter —————————————— “I liked that Berkenblit did not try to make it all add up. She did not tell stories about herself. She did make any grand claims. She did not step outside of what she was doing (working) to explain what she was up to. At the same time, she was not trying to be oblique, which is another clichéd way of trying to look profound. This is a home movie.”

John Yau
(Variations on a sentence by Jackson Pollack)
Jackson Pollack wrote: "When I am in my painting, I'm not aware of what I'm doing. It's only after a sort of 'get acquainted' period that I see what I have been about. I have no fears about making changes, destroying the image, etc., because the painting has a life of its own."
I realize of what we say and how we say it, and how deeply inside of words we can find ourselves and the others.
