Sadly each of these women, and of course many more, have each been harassed by Ames in some manner. This sets the story rolling. Review: The Whisper Network, is a powerful read, that opens up the sad environment in the corporate world, which still continues today in 2019. Chandler Baker uses the four characters, to depict different lifestyles, financial backgrounds, and race, to show sadly none of that makes a difference when it comes to sexual harassment in the workplace. It happens to all and anyone. I really appreciated how in the novel, harassment is shown from the grade school level, which is always covered as “bullying” when in fact its not. For me, having never worked in the corporate environment, it was a real eye-opener, to what a woman has to deal with from all levels. Whether she is top level, work level, after-working hours, or an intern: the emotional/mental/physical battle is on. And what goes on morally, knowingly. A powerful novel, part thriller and part drama, this book had me from the first sentence.
