Summary: After the death of his first wife, Funny Valentine, a soldier all alone in the Devil's Palm, finds himself blessed with the heart of the Saint and a newborn daughter. Believing this to be a divine gift, he vows to continue his goal of making the United States prosper, all while raising his child properly in a world of his making.
AKA, vignettes of Funny Valentine raising his daughter, Mary Valentine, throughout her life / A character study of Valentine and his life before becoming president.
Notes: this series takes place BEFORE the start of Steel Ball Run. While there is the inclusion of an OC, this is mostly focused on Funny and his POV. There are liberties taken with his backstory and I attempt to fill in the gaps of his life before SBR occurred. Warnings will be contained with every chapter. There should not be spoilers, but I will warn if there is!
