‼️Spoiler warning for the Magnus Archives Season 4 ‼️

Headcanon: Jonathan Sims stopped needing glasses after being reborn as the Avatar of the Eye at the beginning of season 4. But after needing glasses for 30 years it became a habit to wear them so he just kept putting them on and getting headaches and he doesn't know why.

Like Jon just finishes a statement and he takes off his glasses to rub his eyes and groan bc why does it hurt so bad behind his eyes? Why is everything so fuzzy? Does he need to go to the optometrist and get his prescription checked? Is this a symptom of the coma he just came out of? Should he go to the hospital and get checked out? How well can a hospital handle whatever shit Jon's got himself into?

And then he looks down at his finished statement and realizes that he can see perfectly fine now. He puts his glasses on. Blurry. He takes them off. Clear. He puts them back on. Blurry. He takes them back off. Clear.

“Oh fuck me.”

Without even thinking about it he just pops his 150 pound prescription lens out of the frame and puts them back on. He'll be damned if the eye is going to take away his scholarly swag. He spent forever finding frames that perfectly fit his face, he's not letting that time go to waste. Besides, he needs a bit of control in his life right now so frames it is.

I’ve always liked the popular headcanon that Jon wears glasses but stops needing to after the Beholding has properly gets its claws in him. but god how funny would it be if he became the Antichrist Of The Eyepocalypse and STILL couldn’t see without glasses despite it all. And I’m talking blind as a bat. Can Know Literally Anything but without two stupid bits of glass over his eyes he WILL walk directly into a pole. I think that would be good enough motive to just start killing people
