I did this photoshop edit of what Jon Foo could have looked like as Liu Kang.
Of course, he already was Jin Kazama in the Tekken movie, and Ryu in the Street Fighter: Legacy fan film, but I think he could have been a good Liu Kang too (nobody beats Robin Shou though, or even Ho-Sung Pak, if you want to include the game actors).
He could have played him in MK Legacy, but a proper version where he's actually the hero fighting for Earthrealm, and not some bitter sociopath fighting for Shang Tsung.
Since Marvel Studios is planning on recasting Iron Fist, here are my suggestions for the role:
1) Lewis Tan (he was the original frontrunner for the role and he can actually pull off the level of martial arts needed)
2) Iko Uwais (watch the “Raid” movies and “Wu Assassins”, Iko would KILL it as Danny. Also, just saying, his character in “Wu Assassins” is pretty much Iron Fist)
3) Henry Golding (leading man charm and I assume he’ll have martial arts training since he’s playing Snake Eyes in a G.I. Joe spin-off. Also, to those people who are insistent on a white guy playing Danny, Henry’s mixed. You can easily write the character as having a white father and an Asian mother. There’s the compromise, you assholes)
4) Won Bin (watch “The Man from Nowhere”, he’d kill it as Danny)
5) Jon Foo (he’s a rising actor and an accomplished martial artist)
6) Ludi Lin (he’s a rising actor and an accomplished martial artist)
EDIT!
7) Andrew Koji (he’s a rising actor, an accomplished martial artist, and he’s playing Storm Shadow in the Snake Eyes movie)
The best film that Jon Foo has ever made (in my opinion),Tekken.
Tekken (2010):
“ Jin Kazama witnesses the death of his mother Jun by Tekken in the slums known as Anvil. After finding a Tekken ID he decides to seek out vengeance for his mother's death (IMDb Description). “
Time to talk about the first live action movie about Tekken. There’s only four movies that I’ve gave a 1 star out of 10, and this is one of them. The team behind this movie were like: let’s make a movie about Tekken 3 and make everything incorrect. As a big fan of Tekken, this movie upsets me and now I understand why movies about video games get a bad reputation. There’s so many wrong details in this movie, that I would make a way too long post. Characters that weren’t meant to be in this tournament yet, Jin and Christie dating even tho they haven’t met before, Kazuya and Heihachi aren’t trying to kill each other, Raven helping Jin, Jin killing other characters, the reason behind Jun’s dead, etc... Even as a regular movie, I don’t like it. The performances were forgettable, the story is a mess and the action scenes were ok. I refuse to watch this movie again.
"Lee. You all right?"
