I'm at ep7 when Pang-Geum overhears one of her friends at the supermarket talk about how Kayoung must be the killer and my heart breaks for Pang-Geum because this is the second she's seen how the whole village will turn against her granddaughter the moment she's gone and she must feel so scared and hurt and devastated...

It's so sad to realise that Kayoung might've had it right all along when she planned to die with her grandma otherwise the village would turn on her so quick 🥺😔

If you're seeing a bit more Hakyun these days, the movie Joint Security Area/공동경비구역 JSA (plot: North and South Korean soliders accidentally make friends at the DMZ) just had a 25th anniversary screening. He couldn't attend, but the director, Park Chanwook (who made Old Boy, The Handmaiden, etc.), said that if it came out today, the movie would probably include a queer romance between Shin Hakyun and Kim Taewoo's characters, which he says is clear if we "just look at Hakyun's eyes in the movie." It's not the first time he's said it, but the media paid attention this time.

Hakyun was also in Guns & Talks/킬러들의 수다 (plot: hitman himbo roommates), which turns 25 next year and was Won Bin's first movie. They were both babies at the time. Maybe we'll get to see a little more of them in 2026, too.
