The scariest thing about Billy Magnussen’s tech CEO in The Audacity is that he didn’t have to invent much. He told me he pulled from the names we already know, the headline guys, the “visionary” types who keep getting handed money and microphones. “This person exists,” Magnussen said. “And that’s what’s scary.”
Jonathan Glatzer got into the founder worship side of it too, how these personalities become bigger than the companies until they’re basically “wild gods.” Which feels dramatic until you look at Silicon Valley for four seconds and remember half the pitch decks already sound like scripture.
