Josephine and the Roach
A few days ago, I was fortunate enough to see this great short film on PBS's "Film School Shorts", titled "Josephine and the roach". And yes, that is a animated roach...but wait...bare with me. Give it a watch. You won't be disappointed.
Director Jonathan Langager, Jenna Augen & Jerry White Jr, will make you bypass the slight creepiness that will overtake most of you & will have you eventually cheering for them both + Seeing the overall beauty of the story.
By the way, no actual words are spoken by any of the actors throughout the whole film. ALL of the emotions you're going to experience will be through Jenna Augen's amazing facial expressions.
Enjoy :]
Side note: The actress Jenna Augen is in a smash hit play titled, "BAD JEWS" which is now playing at St James Theatre in London & will also be playing at the London Arts Theatre from March 18 until May 30.
It sounds pretty hilarious. And I'm hoping it'll come to Boston at some point, since I have quite a few Jewish friends I'd love to take to it.

REVIEW: JOSEPHINE AND THE ROACH - A SLAMDANCE FAVORITE
Josephine and the Roach Trailer from Jonathan Langager on Vimeo.
Josephine(Jenna Augen) is in a loveless marriage and just wants to play the accordion, Her husband Moe (Jerry White jr) wants to watch TV and be left alone without listening to her playing. Within the walls Josephine finds a kindred spirit in a talented and lovelorn roach. Director Jonathan Langager has created a highly stylized and visually striking short, with a style reminiscent of the Great Wayne White. A tale of music, love and an extremely talented Cockroach. Langager is able to suck you into this surreal 1950′s apartment strictly with music and visuals, the absence of dialogue enhances the experience. Its darkly funny and a visual treat. Grade 92
Best Birthday Message Ever
On a day of extravagant good fortune, the second day of the month of Janus in that ancient and mystical time known as "the 80s", was born a child of divine provenance-- a child who touched the hearts of all those who met him; for he was a child of noble spirit and cunning intellect, who would one day conquer land and sea as a bard, poet, and maker of reasonably priced but oh-so-useful-and-stylish travel backpacks-- this child, this "Jeremy Cohen," having been born unto the world, would forever change it, having created such things as "Eddie Puzynski" and "packing your shoes into your backpack"-- items cherished for their resplendent magnificence: so it shall be proclaimed this day by the angels of our almighty heavenly father/yahweh that this day be deemed the "Birthday" of Our One True Jeremy Cohen, the beloved and beknighted son of The Eighties; and it shall be proclaimed "Happy Birthday" unto Our One True Jeremy Cohen, for thine is the kingdom and the glory forever. Amen.
From the brilliant JONATHAN LANGAGER. (Thank you, my friend).
