If we don’t sometimes feel like we’re “in over our heads,” it may be that we’re not following Jesus where he calls us.

There would be moments in our lives where we’ll be placed in the middle of a crowd, testing us. On how we’ll respond to a group of people who lived their lives differently from us. On how we’ll be able to show God and His work in our lives to people whom we’re totally unrelated with.

Or, perhaps, he compels our praise especially on this normal Sunday because we’re reminded that worship is not about us bringing our best, but about finding him as better. We come to him who first came to us. And we come not to give, but to receive. We come as those who need to hear his voice, feel his nearness, know his love.
