Inspired by this post.
Kim Jongdae was a notorious heartbreaker. Rumor had it he’d turned down over twenty proposals, one of which was from a princess. Those rejected swore he had a heart of ice under that charismatic mask, unfeeling and even delighting in the pain he caused. Considering how much wealth he’d amassed in the few years since starting his company, one assumed he was simply wary of gold diggers, holding out for the one who wanted him and not the money in his bank account.
But the truth was much simpler than that.
Most of the lights were out in the building. It was nearing midnight and many of the workers had gone home for the day. Yet, Jongdae knew there was always one who stayed late, obsessively working on assets for the newest project. As usual, he found you at your desk, eyes focused on your computer monitor as you worked on a character model.
“You’re doing it again.” He whispered, careful not to startle you, as he took in your disheveled hair and dark circles under your eyes. “It’s long past time to call it a day.”
“I know, Mr. Kim. But I swear I’ve almost finished the design. She moves a lot better, but it’s just—”
“You said that last time. And the time before that. It’s always something that keeps you from putting the work down.” He stepped closer and gently knocked your hands away from the keyboard and mouse. For the first time, you looked up at him.
“But I mean it this time. Just a little longer and she’ll be ready to import.”
“And then what? You’ll have to wait for everyone to come back in and look at her. There’s no reason you can’t finish tomorrow after you’ve had a good night’s sleep and a fresh cup of coffee.” You looked away, and he added softly, “Please. It kills me to see you running yourself into the ground like this.”
“I just want to do my best.”
“And you are. But you can’t continue to do that if you don’t take care of your body.” He sighed and squatted beside your chair. “I wouldn’t forgive myself if you got sick, or worse. So please? Since it’s so late, I’ll give you a ride home.”
“I don’t want to trouble you—”
“I promise you, you’re not. I’d also feel better seeing you home safely instead of taking public transportation this late.” He patted your hand and stood. “So, save your work and I’ll meet you by the elevator in five, okay?”
When you nodded and moved the mouse to the file menu, he turned and headed back to his office with a smile. Why would he accept any arranged marriage requests if none of them were you?
A/N: My first Chen writing to celebrate his birthday :)
You had been waiting outside your building for Chen for nearly 10 minutes. He had promised to meet you here for date night, but you were starting to think you might just give up and go back in. No sooner had thought crossed your mind, someone snuck up beside you and placed a quick kiss on your cheek.
You jumped slightly as you looked round and found Chen grinning at you.
"Where have you been?" you asked, trying to be stern, but failing miserably when you couldn't help but smile back.
"Does it matter? I'm here now," he replied, pulling you in for a proper kiss before you could respond.
"You're lucky you're cute," you told him, squeezing his cheek.
He grabbed your hand away from his face and laced his fingers through yours so you could walk to the restaurant hand-in-hand.
"Honestly, I just took longer getting ready than I'd planned for," he explained as the two off you headed off. "I wanted to make sure I was looking my best for you."
"You always look amazing."
"So do you. Especially right now."
"Thanks, I put a lot of effort in too," you said, doing a little pose and making him laugh.
With your hand still in his, he pulled you close again and bringing your hand to his lips pressing a quick kiss to the back of it.
A/N: A request from my old blog from @noona-clock's T (@trishmarieco)
It was a complete accident. Sort of. You wanted to go to the carnival, but tickets were crazy expensive nowadays. Seriously, what was up with people charging crazy amounts for some rides and cheap games? The only way to get cheap tickets were for couples. So, you thought it’d be a great idea to call one of your acting buddies to play boyfriend. But instead of texting Jongin, you texted Jongdae. Whoops.
So now Jongdae sat in your living room, arms crossed and an amused smirk on his face. This was something you guys had never done. It was like some unspoken rule you both had agreed to, a line you both never crossed. You knew how badly these things could turn out. He was your best friend, your very best friend. Sometimes, certain lines aren’t meant to be crossed.
“So, can I be your boyfriend?” he asked. You sighed. “Can I?”
“I mean, I s’pose. There isn’t more that I can do. I really, really want to go,” you said, throwing your hands up.
So now you were standing in to get tickets, pretending that your best friend was your boyfriend. You stood a good distance away from him, arms wrapped around yourself. It felt so weird, pretending Jongdae was your boyfriend. How did people do this?
Jongdae moved behind you, wrapping his arms around your shoulders. You tensed, immediately surrounded by his scent. He smelled good, he always smelled good. That was not as creepy as it sounded. You guys were best friends. There have been a plentitude of times where he’s stayed the night and, after a while, shared your bed. It was completely platonic, he was just a very nice cuddler.
“Just act natural,” he mumbled in your ear. “Relax, everything’s gonna be fine.”
“This isn’t natural,” you stressed quietly. He rested his head on your shoulder.
“Don’t think about it as fake dating. Think of it as us kicking everyone’s ass at acting,” he whispered. You giggled, elbowing him softly in the ribcage. He slung his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side.
“You can be such a dweeb,” you teased. He scoffed, shaking his head.
You slowly inched towards the ticket booth. It was clear to see the lady running the booth, old and not pleasant looking. “We’re screwed,” you said, turning towards him. “There’s no way we’ll convince her. She’ll see right through us, eat us alive and spit us back out.”
He laughed, shaking his head. “Don’t worry, I’m sure if you apply your acting skills, we’ll be just fine.” You glared, pouting. “Here, give me your hand. Don’t give me that look. Trust me, I know what I’m doing.” He wrapped his hand around yours, intertwining your fingers. It felt weird, but not a bad weird. You bit the inside of your cheek, staring at your feet.
You finally reached the ticket booth. The old woman eyes you suspiciously, before turning to Jongdae. Her jaw dropped in surprise before she burst into a big grin. “Jongdae!” she laughed. She leant over the railing wrapping her arms around Jongdae. He laughed, hugging her back. “Oh, it’s been too long!”
“That it has, Mrs. Pak, that it has,” he agreed. He turned to you grinning. “Mrs. Pak, this is Y/N.” She gasped, turning to you.
“This is Y/N, oh Jongdae, she’s gorgeous.” You grinned sheepishly. “I didn’t know you guys were dating!” You glanced over at Jongdae with a quirked brow.
“Y/N this my neighbor, Mrs. Pak. She makes the best lamb kebabs in the world,” he explained. You nodded, bowing to Mrs. Pak. “So Mrs. Pak, you think we could get the couple’s tickets?” She nodded eagerly, handing you both your tickets. You enter the park, grinning.
“You talk to your neighbor about me?” you inquired. He opened his mouth to say something but you pointed past him. “Look, darts!” You ran past him and towards the game. He followed behind you.
He slapped a dollar on the table, grabbing the darts. He tried throwing the darts, but failed every time. “It’s rigged,” he complained.
You smirked, setting a dollar down. The carny handed you the darts, stepping aside. You hit all the balloons, earning a stuffed unicorn. “Ah wae!” he yelled. You laughed, shoving the animal into his hand. “It’s rigged!”
“Oh, I’m sure it is,” you assured him grinning. He pouted, nudging you. You guys played more games and ate some fried carnival food. Dusk was approaching and you guys decided to ride some of the rides. You weren’t sure if the girlish screams were your, or Jongdae’s.
You were ready to call it a day, but Jondae convinced you it was mandatory to ride the ferris wheel. So you were strapped in as the wheel went round and round. It finally stopped, right at the tippy top. You sat there, staring at the sun dipping below the city.
“Wow,” you breathed. “It’s beautiful.”
“Yea, it is.” You turned to find Jongdae staring at you.
“Dae?”
“You know, before today, I never saw as more than just my best friend,” he told you.
“Before today?” you repeated.
“I got to see you in a new light today, Y/N. And I--I kinda like the new light,” he confessed. You stared at him, mouth slightly open. He leant in slowly, hesitant to move too suddenly. You leaned in as well, pressing your lips against his. He cupped your face, pulling you closer.
When you both broke apart, your eyes remained closed, still slightly stunned by what had just happened. When you finally opened your eyes, Jongdae was staring at you fondly. “What now?” you asked, gazing into his eyes.
He flashed you his Cheshire cat smile. “Can I be your boyfriend?”

“Where did the instructions go?” Jongdae heaved and whilst you also struggled to help him hold up the back of the cabinet, you managed to let out a breathy snort.
“Oh, those ones you claimed you wouldn’t need to make this?”
“Not funny,” he panted, gesturing to put it down and then leaned over it to catch his breath. “This isn’t working.”
“Should we leave it for another day?” you offered and with a defeated smile, your best friend nodded.
“We’ve got plenty of time to make it.”
And that was how it went for over six months. You didn’t know how you and Jongdae managed to make the process of the cabinet building so difficult. The instructions were found, only for the bag of screws to be misplaced. A few weeks later they appeared in the bathroom cupboard and there was a half-hearted attempt to get the piece finished. Only then, you had unexpected guests turn up at your shared apartment and it slipped off the back end of the priority list as work picked up for you both.
There were always a million reasons why you hadn’t gotten it done.
And now, there wasn’t much time left.
“I’ll finish that cabinet before I move out,” Jongdae announced and you smiled wistfully, rather wishing to leave it untouched in the spare room if it meant your best friend would stay on. All you had known was your life here with Jongdae. You had been neighbours as kids and best friends before you could even talk. Moving in together when you shifted out of home had made the best sense to you and you hadn’t realised just how accustomed you were to having him around every day.
It wasn’t as if he was moving cities and you’d never see him again. But you could already feel the emptiness of your home whenever you found items missing from their usual spots. It was going to be a new chapter for the pair of you.
And whilst you were incredibly happy for Jongdae moving on to the next chapter in his life, you couldn’t help the bitter feeling that came with being left behind.
You were finally going to be on different levels in life and that scared you.
“Y/N, have you seen the legs for the cabinet? They’re missing!”
You cleared your throat and called back in response. “Nope, haven’t seen them.”
“God, when will we ever finish this thing?!” he replied and you sighed heavily as you looked towards the wardrobe you had hidden them within.
Still, Jongdae was determined to get it done.
“Isn’t it heavy?”
He grunted. “Hold the other end.”
You did as he requested, though your heart wasn’t in it. “Have you – got – OW!”
“Are you okay?!” Jumping to his aide as he hopped around on one foot, you cringed at causing an injury. “I’m sorry!”
“It’s like this cabinet doesn’t even want to be finished!”
Chuckling softly, you turned to look away from him, blinking back your emotions quickly. You knew when the project was completed, he would leave.
“I found the legs!” Jongdae chimed the next day, holding the packet up victoriously. “How they ended up in the laundry room all this time, I don’t know.”
“Is that where they were?” you bluffed, sipping on your tea all too quickly. “Funny that.”
“Not long now!” he told you as he strode by you and your stomach dropped with each further step away.
You woke with a start, taking in your surroundings before you felt your heart ease. When you were certain you could breathe comfortably, you slipped out of bed, padding into the living room and over to the kitchen to retrieve some water. It was then when you saw the light on in the spare room.
Confused, you headed in to find Jongdae bending over the cabinet. “What are you doing?”
He jumped at your voice and then smiled grimly before turning back to the cabinet. He hadn’t made much progress on his own and you sighed. “Want a hand?”
“You don’t want it made, do you?” he mentioned softly as you crouched across from him, your gaze moving up to his. Jongdae smiled knowingly. “You never change, Y/N.”
“And you really want it finished.”
He nodded. “It’s stupid really. But I feel like I can’t leave you behind with anything unfinished. Even though I can drop by whenever, I feel this need to have everything in order for you since I won’t…”
“I hid the legs and kept moving them around the house,” you confessed and Jongdae let out a small laugh. You joined him, shaking your head, your tears splattering onto your pyjamas. “I guess it was the same for me. If you didn’t finish it, I had an immature thought that it meant you couldn’t leave.”
“We’re being foolish for a pair of adults, huh?”
You nodded. “It’s just a cabinet for goodness sake.”
“No, it’s something we started together,” he countered, sharing a sombre look with you. “It’s our project.”
“Well then, what are we waiting for?” you asked, wiping your hands on your pants and reached for the instruction manual. You then grinned over at Jongdae. “We’ll finish it the same way we started – together.”
The cabinet ended up in its final resting spot in the entryway to your home. You smiled at it when you opened the front door and Jongdae stepped inside, his hand immediately smoothing over the top of the furniture.
You laughed. “Do you come to visit me or that cabinet?”
“The cabinet, of course! I can’t see that when I come to meet you at the office.”
Rolling your eyes, you turned to look at the simple decoration you had on top of the piece of furniture. Your favourite photo of you and Jongdae sat in the middle of the other photos, the pair of you building blocks together as children. It seemed fitting to place it on top of the cabinet and you could tell Jongdae appreciated it too.
With him no longer here, you found yourself using that cabinet for everything. From leaning on it when you put on and took off your shoes each day and night, to storing all your key essentials and your extra goods in case of an emergency, it felt as if you still had a bit of Jongdae looking out for you with the cabinet.
You were just as fond of it as Jongdae was.
“So, you asked me over for what?” he wondered and you grinned, leading him into the spare room where you had opened up a new box, the supplies carefully set out to begin working on.
“Want to help me make this crib up?”
Jongdae grinned. “What about your husband?”
“I figured since we’re old pros at this, we ought to try and make something else together.”

Mini Masterlist || Prologue || Kyungsoo | Junmyeon >
Jongdae sits at a table, coffee warming his hands as he waits for you to arrive. He hums softly to the elevator music, tapping the side of the mug to the beat, with a soft smile on his face. He knows you’ll be punctual; you don’t seem like the type to make him wait and he greatly admires punctuality, and he cannot wait to see if you brought a friend with you. He’s been thinking about this for a while, unsatisfied with how things seem to play out in the bedroom when he’s asked lovers to do such a thing; your agreement with him and the other men has proven to be something extremely useful especially when he’s heard such wonderful things about you.
There’s a little chime of the bell and Jongdae looks up, eyes sparkling in delight when he sees you walking in with a beautiful friend holding your hand. He stands to meet you, kissing your cheek before introducing himself to your friend who seems starstruck, “you’re the man who started up the performing arts school with Kim Junmyeon.” She begins to ramble about how much she wanted to become an actress before going into the escort business.
“Well, maybe when today is over, if you do well, I can talk to Junmyeon and see what he has available,” you can’t help but smile at his generosity. “But first, why I asked you here.”
To say you were surprised by his request is an understatement, Kim Jongdae did not beat around the bush with what he wanted and you couldn’t help but find a little excitement in what he was asking. It’s not every day that a client will add another party to the bedroom - let alone sit in a chair and do nothing but command you.
Jongdae sits back, fully clothed while he tells you and Irene what to do; you sit on the bed beside her, still dressed, while facing Jongdae before he tells you to look at each other, to caress her face while looking deep into her eyes before kissing her. He controls the speed, the sensuality, and you can tell that Irene is a lot more submissive than you are when she begins to shiver and moan at the way your tongue explores her mouth. “She’s such a good girl for you, isn’t she?” You can hear the arousal in his tone and Jongdae licks his lips as he taps his finger on the arm of the chair, trying to keep himself in control. “Y/N, massage her breasts over her shirt,” you softly massage the mound, not breaking the kiss as you grow more dominant and have Irene pushing her breasts into your hand, her nipple growing harder under her shirt.
Following his instructions, you break the kiss to pull her shirt off, pushing her down and attaching your lips to her perky breasts; you love the way he praises you, praises her for being so obedient and you want to look back to see what he’s doing but with the way he’s sounding, the dominance in his voice that grows with each instruction - you know he’ll join shortly. Jongdae feels his cock twitch in his pants, his hands rubbing along his thighs as he denies himself; his eyes darken as he listens to the way Irene reacts to your touches and watches how well you behave to everything that he tells you to do. There’s something about watching, something about seeing you do everything that he tells you to do without any complaints that really turns him on and Jongdae has never managed to find someone that is so willing to do such things while he sits close by and watches.
He always wants to join but there’s this thrill in watching, in seeing the fantasies in his head being played out in front of him before he touches the masterpiece and enjoys the beauty he creates.
“How does she taste?” Jongdae asks, leaning forward to stop himself from releasing his cock as he listens to the sweet mewls that escape Irene’s lips.
Licking a slow, languid strip along her spread lips, you hum at how wet she is before answering Jongdae, “she tastes delightful, so moist and ready for someone to fuck her silly.” She moans at your words, hand tangling in your hair as she begins to slowly grind against your face.
Chuckling, Jongdae begins to eye your round ass that’s swaying in the air, “oh no, Y/N, it’s not her I’m going to fuck.” You pause, looking back at him while Irene whines at the loss of your mouth, “I can see how drenched your panties are, how turned on you are and you haven’t been touched yet. The fact that you get to be in control is extremely arousing for you and God, watching you, having you obey me without any questions is just as arousing for me.” Jongdae stands up and you can see the outline of his hard member straining against his pants. “I’m going to fuck you while you bring her to the orgasm she’s desperately wanting.”
For a sweet looking man who sings like an angel, Jongdae is commanding in the bedroom.
You continue to eat Irene out, slowly and making sure her orgasm doesn’t come too quickly; she grows frustrated with the speed but you don’t care because with every article of clothing that you can hear drop to the ground, you shiver in anticipation because your aching pussy is finally going to get fucked. Jongdae’s hand slowly caresses your ass, pulling down your ruined panties before he runs two fingers along your slit and murmurs about how wet you are. You moan when he pushes them inside you, your lips circled around Irene’s clit which causes her to whine at the sensation as you add two fingers into her core.
“Keep pace with me,” he whispers against the back of your neck, eyes locked in on your fingers as he slowly begins to finger fuck you while watching you do the same to Irene. “I want you to fuck her at the same pace I fuck you,” your pussy clenches at his words and he smirks before getting himself ready to enter your pink, soaking wet core.
He penetrates slowly, the sigh that he releases as he enters you completely complements the moan you try and stifle as you flick your tongue against Irene’s clit while she begins to let out a string of curses as her orgasm approaches. You do as you’re told, keeping pace as Jongdae slowly begins to fuck you and you find yourself struggling to hold back your own moans as his thrusts become faster and harder. “Fuck,” you cry out, pumping your fingers fast and enjoying the way that Irene thrashes about in front of you as she cums, her pussy clenching tightly around your fingers while your own orgasm build quickly, “Jongdae, I’m so close.”
His eyes sparkle at the way Irene looks, her hair a mess and her lips bitten but what he enjoys the most is how you look. Your body is shaking, breathing heavy as you bury your face between Irene’s legs and try to stop yourself from screaming. “No, no,” he tries to keep his voice steady but the way you look, the way you’re falling apart because of him, has him struggling to keep himself together. “I want to hear you scream, I want to see you cum, watch the pleasure flow through you, let me see.” You look up at him and let out a cry of his name when he thrusts a little harder - pushing you both towards the climax you desperately want.
“Jongdae,” you moan out, feeling the coil about to break while Irene brushes your hair out of your face, “fuck- I’m-” You scream as the wave of pleasure rushes through your veins and your arms and legs shake at the intensity, Jongdae lets out a low groan, releasing inside you and pulling out quickly to watch his cum slowly leak out your pulsating pussy.
You collapse and Jongdae flips you over, watching your chest rise and fall with each breath as you try and calm down your heart, “clean her up, won’t you?” He flashes Irene a sweet smile before sitting back down in his chair and watches her take care of you.
The sound of your phone vibrating is enough to wake you up, your body still exhausted as you sit up and gently move the two bodies off you - Jongdae paying you and Irene for more of your time caused you both to fall asleep in his bed with him. You narrow your eyes at the light before answering the call, “good evening, Mr. Kim.” You stifle a yawn, shuffling off the side of the bed and walking towards the bathroom, “how may I be of service?”
“Are you with Jongdae?” You hum in confirmation, “are you free tomorrow?”
Cleaning yourself up with a warm cloth, you answer simply, “yes.”
“Come with Jongdae to the school tomorrow, I have a meeting in the morning with Kim Jongin but then I have the rest of the day off - you’ll be my company afterwards.” Junmyeon doesn’t leave room to argue but you wouldn’t anyway.
You nod, even though he can’t see you, “of course, Mr. Kim, I’ll see you tomorrow morning.”
You don’t see the smile on his face, the plan for the day already playing out in his mind, “that’s a good girl, make sure to wear something...pretty...I want to be able to show you off.” Hanging up the phone, you head back to the bed where Jongdae has Irene basically curled up on his chest; hanging up the phone, Junmyeon leans back and texts Jongin because he knows his younger friend likes to have some fun.
Oh, and fun it’ll be.

Jongdae is in the middle of hanging up party streamers when the doorbell rings.
From the boisterous laughter coming from the other side of the door, he already knows who has arrived. He wants to at least hang the last few streamers before letting the guests in but the bell keeps ringing incessantly.
Now he’s thinking maybe he shouldn’t have invited anyone over.
The male grunts and whispers under his breath as he stomps to the door, “i’m gonna kill Byun Baekhyun.”
True enough when Jongdae pulls the door open roughly, Baekhyun is the first person he sees, with the rest of Exo behind him.
“We’re ready to party!” Baekhyun exclaims excitedly as he waves his hands in the air.
Jongdae can only shake his head in disapproval and give his friend the stink eye.
The 8 Exo boys make their way into our apartment, giving Jongdae bro hugs on their way in and shouting words of greeting to the kitchen where I am stationed.
They settle their pile of gifts on the dining table and head to the living room.
“So where’s my princess?” Chanyeol questions, looking around the apartment.
“She’s not your princess Park, she’s mi-“
“Prince Yeollie!” A chirpy little voice screams.
Chanyeol’s eyes light up at the sound of his goddaughter shouting his name. He breaks out into a megawatt smile and drops to his knees with his arms wide open, waiting for his favourite ball of sunshine to jump into his embrace.
The little girl does just that, snuggling her face into her uncle’s chest.
Chanyeol holds the girl close to his body and gets back up on his feet.
“Come princess, let’s go play!”
The tall male sticks his tongue out at Jongdae and then waltzes into the living room.
“Princess!” Jongdae calls out.
The girl pays no attention to him.
“Princess!”
He is met with silence again.
His daughter is already giggling while uncle Sehun takes her on an imaginary plane ride.
Jongdae pouts sulkily and shuffles into the kitchen where I have been watching the drama unfold while I cook. I purse my lips to hold back the teasing smile that is threatening to break out but Jongdae has already seen it. He whines, unhappy that I am making fun of him.
I settle the ladle down and spread my arms.
“Oh come here you big baby.”
Jongdae glares at me but nevertheless, still comes forth to accept my cuddle. He lets out an upset sigh when he is in my hold. I pat his back comfortingly and give him a peck on the side of his forehead where his mole is.
“At least they’re taking care of her,” I offer.
Jongdae pulls away from the hug and leans against the kitchen counter beside me, the both of us facing the living room. Unconsciously, we smile as our daughter gurgles with laughter thanks to her uncles/godfathers.
While uncle Junmyeon shows her magic tricks, uncle Jongin actively films her expression the whole time. The rest of the members are cooing as the little girl’s eyes sparkle when she marvels at her uncle’s tricks.
Jongdae slings an arm over my shoulder and pulls me towards him, my body leaning against his slender one. We stand in comfortable silence as we watch my husband’s bandmates fuss over our daughter.
“Her uncles and father spoil her rotten with so much love, how will she ever find a boyfriend who loves her more?”
Jongdae whips his head to glare at me, eyes carrying a world of offense.
“She is not having a boyfriend!”

“I can’t believe we’re finally here, I never thought we’d make it.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Jongdae groans as he feels your grip on his waist tighten so you can steadily slip off his motorcycle. “My driving’s not that bad.”
Jongdae kicks his foot down, his bike’s kickstand clicking into place so he can stand up without it crashing to the ground (he’d honestly cry if it ever did). He hears you laugh as he pulls off his helmet, shaking his head and running his fingers through his hair to smoothen out any tufts that stick up. Then he’s feeling someone else run their fingers through his hair and Jongdae sighs contently.
“You’re right, it’s not,” he hears you say from behind him. He steps away from his bike and turns to face you, your hands still in his hair as he wraps both his arms around your waist. “Being on a bike that’s moving a hundred miles per hour down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere is just terrifying.”
“Aw, princess,” Jongdae coos, leaning down to nuzzle his nose into yours, a sweet smile spread across his lips. “You know I wouldn’t let anything happen to you.”
“I know,” you whisper. “I trust you with my life, Jongdae. That’s why I’m only ever able to go on your bike and not Baekhyun’s because I know he’d pull some stupid shit to scare the hell out of me.”
Jongdae can’t help but snort at that―of course, leave it to Baekhyun to be the little shit he’s been since day one. “Remind me to kill him when we get back to my place,” Jongdae says before capturing your lips in his. It quickly becomes heated, your hands threading through his hair endlessly and his arms tightening around you, bringing you closer than ever as his tongue pushes past yours in a war of dominance.
But then you pull away too quickly for Jongdae’s liking, evident by the whine that escapes his lips when you slip out of his grasp as if you were never really there in the first place.
“Where are we, anyway?” you ask, seemingly oblivious to his whines. He watches you as you twirl with no care in the world, the skirt that reaches your knees swaying in response to your movements. He feels himself falling in love with you all over again―the way you looked like an utter angel beneath the setting sunlight, the light hitting you at just the right angles. The skirt makes you look like a princess of divinity―his, princess. “Jongdae?” you call out to him when he doesn’t respond, pulling him out of his thoughts.
“My special place,” Jongdae says, still staring at you. You’re in the middle of nowhere, fields of grass stretching as far as the eye could see and with only one dirt road in your sights―the one you took to get here.
“Really?” You tilt your head in the cutest way that makes Jongdae’s heart stutter―god, you were gorgeous. “But there’s nothing here, Jongdae.”
Jongdae laughs, finally making his way over to you to join you in the field of grass, the field of nothing. “That’s what makes it so special,” he whispers, wrapping an arm around your waist as he settles behind you, resting his chin on your head. “I come here all the time to gather my thoughts. It really helps, you know, since there’s nothing here. It makes it easy for me to focus. It also helps me remember my place in the world―that I’m just a tiny little human in a huge, huge universe that’s far too big for my tiny brain to properly comprehend.”
“You’re going to make me have an existential crisis if you keep talking like that.” You reach up and smack his cheek lightly and Jongdae laughs again, his heart literally bursting with all his love for you, his one and only.
“I love you,” Jongdae murmurs out of the blue. You hum, placing your hands on his arm that’s wrapped around your torso.
