the whole allusion-style is like. my aesthetic. LOL. honestly what you've written is how i've always wanted to, a style i've always wanted to achieve but never MASTERED. I've been writing a Shiji centric fic in a similar style but i haven't touched it in MONTHS because i just don't feel like it's well written whatsoever so my confidence prevents me from doing anything more with it LOL. and w-what you've read my things what what have you read omg ahhhhh AHHH

it's really encouraging to hear this feedback from you. and well, don't give up! I think a serious work always looks worst to its author, if you keep working and put it out there, I'm sure people will like it. and besides, you put such serious thought into this character, so you have a good foundation for writing this story that's always going to be there. AND YES BEING PROFESSIONAL ZHANG CHANGPU IS A GOOD FOUNDATION everything good is written out of love :D :D
I read some of your Chonghui (the one on AO3 before I had an account there, and I think some snippets that just appear now and then), the way you write is very vivid and cute which takes a lot of talent too! I tend to focus too much on the negative in writing (haha sob) so it's really refreshing to see a charmingly shippy story. and you know, with those two it just might work :'D
okay real talk after i read it i actually had to lay down and think about life for a moment. THE CHAPTER ABOUT SHIJI WAS SO HARD TO REAL BUT I PULLED THROUGH... I really honestly wish i could write as beautifully as you can ah jeez. and yes tbh i thought i HAD followed you like from our gonglu discussion days but i guess i was so wrong lmao. i really need to get back into the writing mood but inspiration is so hard

you know, a long time ago, I was going to write a multi-part fic about Shiji, in a similar, allusion-heavy style. this was way back before Jia Chong or anyone appeared, probably right after DW7, so yeah I'd been wanting to tell this story for a long time... whatever the reason it didn't really happen, but there are some shadows of it in the fic on AO3. maybe one day I'll be able to do it full justice. there was some really bizarre stuff I planned for it too...
your writing is really good from what I've seen! what I've learned is that really you don't need inspiration, the best thing to do is just to start writing, and the inspiration, mood, and all those rewarding parts of it only follow thereafter. so go for it whenever you feel like! :)
