You slowly open your eyes, only to see you've fallen asleep on the couch, the TV still on and playing god knows what. You check your phone right as the doorbell rings again, and you see a message from Jonghyun on your screen from 20 minutes ago that said "I'm on my way"
You groan. You've fallen asleep while you two were chatting and now he's here while you feel like crap and all you want is to keep sleeping until this stupid cold is out of your system.

He places the back of his hand on your forehead, and even if it's freezing, it feels comforting on your skin. "You don't have a fever, but you do feel a bit warm" he takes the hand out to look for something in the bag "here, take this"
You open your hand to see some ibuprofen falling on it, and move to the fridge to get some water to swallow them. As you drink, you turn around to see he has turned on the stove and is getting one of your pots from the cupboard, pouring in it a soup he bought and placing it on the fire. You lean back on the fridge to watch him, he is so focused he's squinting his eyes, opening and closing your drawers to find what he needs to cook. He's so sweet for doing this, and you can feel your heart swelling at the way he cares about you.
"You're cute" you say, smiling at him. It takes you a second to realize you've actually said it out loud.
He frowns and looks at you. "What?"

"Shut up" you joke, rolling your eyes. As you get closer to him, you can smell the delicious food and hum happily.
He smiles at you, tilting his head to the side. "You look like a fruit too"
You stare for a second until you both burst out laughing, but when your laughs turns to a cough he's quick to rub his hand on your back to help it stop.
"You should really get some rest" he suggests, his hand now resting softly on your lower back "go and wait for me on the couch, I'll take this to you"
"You don't have to baby me" you whine, hugging him by the waist and resting your head on his chest "but thank you"
He places his head on top of yours, smiling in your hair. He lets go of the spoon he's using to mix the soup so he can hug you with both arms, squeezing you.
You stay like that for a moment, the soup slowly cooking while you take deep breaths. You should probably let go before it gets awkward but you don't care, really; you feel safe in his arms and you wish to embrace him for as long as you can.
You lift your head to look at him and he does the same; his eyes are shining brightly and you are certain that's what angels actually look like.
"Pineapple" you whisper
"Huh?"
"You look like a pineapple" you gesture at his head "your hair is a mess"
He snorts. "Ok, well, banana"
"What? Why banana?"
"Your posture is shit" he kisses the top of your head before breaking your embrace "couch, now, you're gonna make me burn the soup"

I just finished my bath and am now cleaning up the tub when I hear the main door shut and lock. I dry myself with a big towel and slip on my robe. When I walk to the living room, I see nobody around.
“Jonghyun?” I call out, proceeding to our bedroom. Still, nobody. His radio broadcast ended more than an hour ago so I’m sure he’s come home.
I suddenly hear a moan from across the hall. When I go back near the front door, Roo appears as if from nowhere and runs to Jonghyun lying on the floor exhausted. He had a hectic schedule all week.
“Aww, honey,” I sit next to him on the floor and pick his head up to let him use my lap as his pillow. “You must be so tired,” I say, stroking his soft dark hair lovingly.
He responds with another moan for a yes. He reaches for my face with one hand then caresses my cheek with his thumb. “I was missing you all the time,” he says, his wide eyes glinting together with his smile.
I smile back at him then kiss the corner of his mouth. “Do you want me to run you a bath?”
“I want to get in with you,” he told me with a pout.
“But I just finished.”
He laughs. “Well, then never mind.” He gets up as he helps me up as well. I turn away to head to the bedroom but Jonghyun stops me by grabbing my wrist. “Where are you going?
“I’m putting on my pajamas.”
“Okay,” he says, but pouting. He reverses what he just said and pulls me in closer to his body. He stares deeply into my eyes which always makes me melt. I watch his eyes slowly shut as he leans in to kiss me.
It always makes my heart jump even when I see it coming. His kiss is the thing I look forward to every night when he comes home from a long, hard day. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have him.
“Why don’t you go ahead while I’ll just quickly wash up and drink my tea for a bit. Okay?” he tells me, biting his lip as he brushes away baby hairs off my face.

After a good half an hour, as I’m sitting up in bed with my laptop browsing photos from his program broadcast earlier today, Jonghyun joins me with nothing on but his plain black boxers. He rests his chin on my shoulder, breathing in and out on my neck. He puts his hand under my t-shirt and starts caressing up and down my stomach and between my breasts.
“Is Roo in bed?” I ask.
He hums in a yes, still taking in my scent.
I begin to feel his wet lips below my jaw just as soon as I close my laptop and place it on the nightstand beside me. I giggle in response and let our mouths collide. His breath is warm, his grip around me is tightening.
When I attempt to push us to his side of the bed, Jonghyun throws the duvet cover to the edge of the bed and towers over me.
“I thought you’re too tired,” I mumble as I feel my cheeks burn.
He replied with no words but with a sexy, almost evil smile. He then grabs my wrist to push them above my head and resumes kissing me, his tongue playing with mine.
I let out a moan when his sloppy mouth is back in my neck, feeling it leaving teeth marks.
I don’t know how long we’ve been doing it, but I can already feel my body ache for tomorrow.
The next morning, the cold shivers me awake. When I open my eyes, I find myself in Jonghyun’s arms and his face an inch from mine. I didn’t expect this since he had been very occupied in the last two weeks that I always caught him already getting ready for the day. My heart fills up with joy at the nice surprise.
I watch him as he opens his eyes awake. Then he curves his lips into a slight smile. “Hi, beautiful,” he whispers.
I just want to tear up out of bliss as he looks at me with sparkle in his eyes. Instead, I peck on his precious lips and wrap my arms around him tighter. He starts laughing, which is my favorite sound in the world aside from his voice whenever he sings. This, right here next to him, is my favorite place in the world. I wish I wouldn’t have to leave and start my day at work. Just watching his beauty like this, listening to his heart loving me back, feels like a dream every day.
“Will you marry me?” he asks all of a sudden.
My heart sinks and my smile turns into a frown. I sit up and look away.
Jonghyun sits up as well, exposing his naked half. I can feel fear creeps up on him.
I turn to look at him. I can’t hold this act any longer and jump on top of him, making him lie back down. “Of course, I’ll marry you!” I shout then laugh at his face.
“Dear God, you scared me!” he yells back, looking up at me. My arms around his neck and his around my waist.
I crawl down to kiss him. “I love you so much, Kim Jonghyun.”
He lets off a sweet smile then pulls something out of the bedside drawer. He takes the engagement ring from the ring box and slides it to my finger. I’ve never felt this happy and it’s only him that can make me this way.

All week, Jonghyun wondered if you knew that you were his favorite part of every day. Your words encouraging him through texts on even the busiest day, your voice greeting him as soon as he walked through the unlocked door to your tiny office in the small shared apartment, your smile beaming at him across the dinner table every night, your eyes grinning at him over the top of your book every time he sat at your feet on the couch, your breath faint against his lips when he leaned in for the latest kiss of millions-- he loved them all.
He told you one day as he laid his head down on your desk, watching in unrestrained awe as your brow furrowed and your lips quivered while your pen scribbled on the pages of your newest composition book. His voice was such an airy whisper that you knew he didn't require an immediate response.
Often, conversations like this spanned several days. Jonghyun would reflect on something for days before ever opening his mouth, and then you would consider his words carefully. You would carry his voice around the apartment and onto the sidewalk and onto the bus and into your often into your office, where you would record it on paper, missing far too many of his mannerisms and inflections and breaths and everything that made his voice his. Beautiful.
Conversations with him were rarely brief, rarely (maybe never) shallow. Swimming in the depths of your soul with Jonghyun was your favorite part of living. Sometimes (maybe always) you thought that was what you were born to do: speak to him, hold him, love him.
So you told him one night as you laid your head on his chest and started mapping onto his skin the constellations he introduced to you. Then, he would carry your voice around the apartment and onto the sidewalk and into his car and into the studio, where he would record it in a song, pouring all of his efforts into matching your mannerisms and inflections and everything that made your voice yours. Beautiful.

Kibum is laughing, Taemin is doing a little shimmy as Jinki is fairly calm about the whole thing, Minho casually teasing Jonghyun as he’s tearing up and furiously wiping at his eyes, as he mumbles about how he never expected them to stay together this long, nor be this sucessful. All you can do is stare fondly at these five men and how they’ve all grown since debut.

Even on Christmas, Jonghyun had a small schedule that you didn't understand, but he assured that he would be home to share a meal, open presents, and spend some quality time with you. So with his promise in mind, you laid out his pajamas, made sure that the food was cooking, and brought out the presents you had been hiding from him. Even though he also promised not to sneak peeks at the gifts, you knew better. You had barely sat down next to the mock fireplace heater when the door opened.
"I'm home!" Jonghyun called out. He kicked his shoes off and hung up his coat that still had snow flurries stuck to the fabric.
He shuffled into the living room and stopped upon seeing you next to the heater attempting to warm up your toes. He chuckled lightheartedly.
"You're so cute." He commented as he made his way to crouch down in front of you to greet you with a quick kiss.
"Let me change, and we'll begin our very own Christmas as a family." As soon as the word "family" left his mouth, Roo entered the room, excited to see him. Even she had matching pajamas. Jonghyun picked her up and carried her to the room with him.
You heard Roo running back into the living room, followed by Jonghyun, who was looking a lot more comfortable. He sat down in front of you; the Christmas lights twinkled in his eyes, which made your heart melt. He reached for your hands.
"Merry Christmas, my love." He held your hands sweetly.
"I'm sorry we're celebrating so late." His gaze went from your eyes down to your interlocked fingers.
"It doesn't matter what time we celebrate just as long you're here with me." You leaned over and kissed his cheek.
That action caused a blush to rise on his cheeks. To break the flustered moment you were both sharing, you turned to the beautifully decorated tree to your right. The excitement was building; you had been waiting all year to share this special moment with him.
With the decorative wrapping paper creating a sea on the floor, your loving boyfriend helped you up to help with the cleanup, but instead, he pulled you into a tight embrace.
"Thank you for the gifts. They're perfect."
You gently squeezed his sides. "You outdid yourself. I have no clue how we're going to fit any of the gifts in our room." Together, you both glanced at the pile of boxes next to the tree.
"I think we'll have to manage or just move to a bigger apartment."
You rolled your eyes playfully at him.
"And what about next year? Are we just going to move to another apartment to fit those gifts?"
He looked up towards the ceiling as if he was thinking, then looked back down with a sly grin.
"Yes."
You chuckled at his ridiculous answer and rested your head against his chest. You stayed like that for a while, just enjoying the feeling of being in his arms. Jonghyun hummed into your hair, also enjoying the moment.
"You know all these gifts are amazing, but do you want to know my favorite one?"
He loosened his grip on you and waited for you to take a guess. You bit your lip, trying to remember which gift got the most reaction out of him.
"The little camera that we can put on Roo's collar to see what she's up to while we're gone?"
Jonghyun laughed as he made his way over to the pile of presents. Instead of coming back with a box, he came back with one of the giant bows you had put on of the boxes.
"A bow?" You questioned with a confused expression. He didn't answer, but instead, he placed the bow atop your head.
"Out of all these gifts, you're my favorite one." He cupped your cheeks and guided your face close to his, his lips mere centimeters away from yours.
"Marry me?" He whispered. Your eyes widened, and you pulled back to make sure he was serious.
Jonghyun pulled you back to him. "Please?"
You nodded slightly before closing the small gap between the both of you.
