A/N: Happy birthday to one of the cutest leaders I know <3
No matter how many times Jinki ran his hands over his cream slacks, he couldn't get rid of the sweaty palms sensation. Sure, his body hadn't produced sweat in centuries but that fact did little to the feeling go away.
Today was the day.
All the paperwork was done. Any registration fees were paid. He just needed to ask you. Make it official on paper.
A quick glance at his watch reminded him that you should be getting off the bus soon. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.. Everything would be alright. Even if you rejected his request, it wouldn't be the end of the world.
You knocked on the door lightly. It'd be difficult, if not impossible, for other people to hear it, but you knew he could be deep in his basement and still pick up the sound. He opened the door and smiled. "____, welcome."
You smiled sweetly and stepped inside. "The storm's starting to kick up. I brought my overnight bag, just in case." You held up the leopard print backpack. "Hope that's okay."
He nodded and closed the door. "Of course it is. I prefer it over traveling so late."
You laughed. "Somehow I knew you'd say that." You stepped close and poked his cheek, eyeing the reaction of his skin. "Hm, you're a little dryer than usual." You stepped back and peeled off your scarf and coat. "Have you been overdoing it again?"
He avoided your perceptive gaze. "It couldn't be helped. I needed to pickup documents and return them as quickly as possible."
You sighed and turned on your heel. "Then we should go ahead and get started." You beckoned him to follow with a few curls of your finger. Like a lovesick puppy, his feet obeyed. It wasn't until you pulled your shirt collar away from your throat that he even noticed you were seated, waiting for him to drink his fill.
"Oh, no." He shook his head to clear away the fog. "I wanted to talk with you first."
"Oh?" You blinked then let go of your shirt. "What about? Is it my work schedule? I can request to get off earlier, but I'm not sure my boss will allow it."
"Well, yes but not exactly." He went to his desk and plled out the contract he picked up from H&V Resources. "You made a comment last month about how it'd be easier to be a live-in donor--"
You glanced at him then at the papers in his hand before jumping to your feet. "Is that--" Fear and sorrow flowed from your pores like a thick, bitter syrup completely unlike your usual light floral scent. "Oh. I-I didn't mean to upset or offend you. It's just been a mess at work and being with--I'm mean, around you--Oh, God. Please don't fire me--"
He shushed you with a cold fingertip against your trembling lips. "I wouldn't dream of it." When he was certain you'd calmed down, he held up the papers. "It took me a while to get permission and the permits, but I'd like to ask you to be my personal live-in donor."
Your jaw dropped.
"As you said then, it'd be much easier if you lived here with me." He gestured to your surroundings. "I have plenty of space. I'm offering a six-figure salary as well as health and life insurance." He passed the papers to you.
"Mr. Lee, that's a lot of money."
"I realize that. That's why I hoped to have you take on the role as my personal assistant with my company as well. You could help me avoid 'overdoing it,' as you say. It'd benefit you as I wouldn't need to feed as often." When that thoughtful look settled on your face as you flipped through the pages, the sweaty palms came back. He shoved his hands into his pockets. "Feel free to take your time to look over--"
"Where's a pen?" You searched the top of his desk and found one. Before he thought to stop you, you were going through and signing and initialing wherever highlighted.
"I-I thought you'd want to take your time to read it thoroughly." It was a lot to process given all the disastrous ways he imagined things turning out.
"It's a no-brainer. I hate my other job and we get along great. On top of that, you're essentially offering a way to turn my life around. Even one year working for you would pay off my debts." Your words were rushed and your hand shook as you blitzed through the contract. "Imagine me being able to lease a car!"
Your happiness was contagious, treating him to a richer flavor of your scent he'd never experienced. "I'd be happy to help you get a car. I could also loan you one of mine as a company car."
You paused and looked at him with a mixture of shock and glee. "I've never had a job with a company car before." Doubt flittered through your mind. "Are you sure you want me for this?" Worry filled your eyes and it melted his heart.
"____, dear. May I be brutally honest with you?" When you nodded he took one of your hands in his. "You are one of the most brilliant, endearing, and compassionate people I've ever met. There's no one else I trust, or want, to give this position to."
"Thank you so much." You blushed then returned to the contract. You scribbled your name on the final page and handed the stack to him. "It'll be a pleasure living with you."
He chuckled and accepted the contract. "I'm almost positive the pleasure will be all mine."
Summary: Jinki should stop thinking about kissing you and focus on your first date. Except he can’t.

Author’s Note: I don’t have the first clue about anyone in SHINee but it was Rae’s birthday so for her I’ve given it a shot!
Lee Jinki hadn’t realized he was a coward until now.
In his defense, he had successfully asked you out. He’d done it several weeks later than originally planned, several weeks after you’d given him the green light, but he’d finally done it. Mainly because you’d started looking disappointed any time the two of you talked, which made this little crease show up between your eyebrows, and while he thought it was adorable, he figured you’d probably be disappointed to develop a premature frown line.
Especially after he put two and two together and realized oh, you were disappointed because he hadn’t asked you out. Pushing through the what-ifs constantly drizzling in his brain and doing it had been worth it, too, just to see the brightest, cutest smile in the whole wide world dawn on your face when he stammered over the words. The memory of that smile and your little “oh, I’d love to” in response had carried him through several work days of drudgery after.
And, additionally in his defense, he was also successfully holding your hand on this date. And sure, maybe you had initiated it, taking his hand and bounding eagerly through the throng of customers to get a closer look at the menu. But he was the one who hadn’t let go, had shifted your hands to twine fingers together, had watched you unsuccessfully bite back a smile while staring resolutely at the menu. He’d even persevered through the bestowing of two waffle cones and processing payment with only one hand, because oh my god, he was holding your hand, how often had he thought about holding your hand, how could he let go for anything?
But now. Now Jinki recognized himself for what he was. Because for the past ten minutes, well into a conversation he’d wanted to pay more attention to, you’d had the sweetest little swipe of soft serve at the corner of your mouth, and he hadn’t said or done a damn thing about it. Paralyzed by indecision. Could he—was he allowed to just…wipe it away? Or should he just say something so you could fix it?
Not to mention the part of Jinki’s brain that wanted to say “fuck it” and lean in and kiss it away, forewarning and other people around and first date etiquette be damned. He was loath to admit how weak-willed he was against this latter option, how little resolve he wanted to expend shoving the thought down. It was his fault for indulging too many times in his daydreams about kissing you, probably.
“…said, did you?”
Jinki blinked, glancing too quickly back up at your eyes. “Hm?”
A corner of your mouth curled into a smile, the corner with ice cream on it, and goddamnit he was looking again, he needed to stop looking, he was getting sidetracked again just looking.
“You got a little distracted,” you said, glancing momentarily down at his mouth. Jinki felt his heart leap into his throat. “What’s going on in that head?”
Kissing. Kissing you. A lot of kissing. “Uh. Nothing.”
You raised an eyebrow, smile widening, and he could feel the tips of his ears burn. “Hmm. You sure?”
“Yep,” he said, too fast to be convincing.
There was something soft in your eyes when you looked at him and it was melting his brain. He needed to look away to get his sanity back or he’d sound like a moron the rest of the night.
Except his eyes decided that looking at the corner of your mouth again counted as looking away. Jinki cleared his throat, shifting a little in his seat. Coward.
“You, uh.”
He blinked and watched you gesture at his waffle cone. Only then did he feel the cold trickling over his knuckles.
“Oh,” he said, then felt rather stupid. He lifted his cone hand to his mouth and started tidying the mess to shut himself up.
He heard you clear your throat as he finished cleaning his knuckles and glanced over at you. He immediately wished he hadn’t; you were licking your soft serve with concentration, looking away from him. When you lowered the cone and swallowed, he noticed a little more soft serve had settled at the corner of your mouth.
Goddamnit. The universe was testing his patience. Or maybe his self-control. Or both.
Coward.
“You’re staring again,” you said, tilting your head slightly.
Jinki tore his gaze away from your mouth, guilty. “Oh, uh…sorry.”
Uh-oh. That little crease between your eyebrows was slowly forming. You were frowning. Fix it.
“Um, do I have something on my…?”
You began lifting your free hand towards your chin, and alarm bells started going off in Jinki’s head. What they were for, he had no idea. All he knew was every nerve ending in his body felt like an exclamation point, like waiting on tiptoes, and it was fogging his brain. Fix it.
He meant to say “yeah, a little, just here”. Casual voice, lifting his free hand and swiping at the corner of your mouth with his thumb. Cool as a cucumber. Respectful but also intimate. Perfect first date behavior.
What actually happened was a blur in the mind fog that cleared to reveal him kissing you. Badly. His free hand was cupping your face and his lips were on your lips, sure, but only just. His mouth was off-center, focused on the corner of your mouth, and as he remembered the ice cream his tongue swiped out gently before he could stop it.
That’s when his brain switched back on. He pulled away, blinking wide-eyed at you, and you were blinking wide-eyed at him. Oh, god. Oh no. Help. Horrible kiss. He’d just licked you, off-center. God. Fuck. He was going to die.
“Jinki,” you said, and your voice sounded breathy in a way he wasn’t allowed to think about.
“Uhm,” he said.
You glanced aside, then back to him. “Your ice cream is on my shoulder.”
He blinked at you stupidly for another full second. He looked over at your shoulder. His waffle cone was smashed soft-serve side first into your blouse. Dazed, he pulled it away, some dumb part of him scraping the cone gently to try and lift any excess with it. A fist-sized splotch remained on the fabric.
Fucking hell. Of course. Of course. “I…” Shit.
You were already plucking a handful of napkins from the dispenser on the table, swapping your cone to your other hand and mopping at the mess. Despite this, you were grinning.
You were grinning?
“Maybe try with both hands free next time?” You suggested, still grinning, not looking at him.
It took a full five seconds for Jinki to realize you weren’t mad. You weren’t mad at all. You were happy. He’d just performed the worst kiss in the history of kissing on you and you were happy.
You’d practically invited him to do it again, albeit with conditions.
Jinki was going to inhale the rest of this waffle cone to get both of his hands free.
Summary: how much longer are you gonna stare at him and not tell him you are dying to kiss him?
A/N: this is most likely one of the cheesiest things I've ever written, but this scenario just wouldn't leave my brain so here you have it! Also I've been wanting to write something related to his last album so let's pretend this is it lol
You're not sure if it's the cold wind, the fact that you are alone with him, or both, but your body is trembling so much you can't even control your own hands. You take a big breath and put them inside your pockets, hoping to calm down.
Jinki joined the company a little over a month ago and had you drooling over him since day one: he was beyond beautiful, smart, funny, and overall such a nice person it was nearly impossible not to fall for him. He was assigned to your project from the beginning and you were designated as his trainer, but he was so eager to learn, asking the right questions and making sure he had what he needed to start right away, that training took less than expected and soon you found yourself chatting with him about pretty much anything. He was curious in nature so your conversations were long and lasted all day long, and when you realized you missed talking to him during the weekends, that's when you knew you were fucked.
Fast forward to tonight: you are walking together after leaving an after-office event, and there was something about being alone like this -late at night and on a fairly empty street- that had your mind spinning and your body tensing up.
You shudder and he noticed. "Are you cold? Do you want my jacket?"
God, he is so sweet. "I'm ok, don't worry" you smile at him, and he smiles back.
If only you had the courage to ask him out... You knew he was single (he casually said it one day) but you couldn't get past the fact that he was so out of your league it would probably end up with him politely turning you down, so why bother? Still... you can't help to daydream about him, wondering what would be like to date him, to be the recipient of his tender touches -because you were sure he was the sweetest man alive and would be so caring to his partner-, to get to see his domestic side...
"You are staring"
"What? Oh, right, sorry". You had stopped at a red light and you were mindlessly admiring his features when he snapped you out of it. It wasn't the first time you got lost in thoughts while looking at him, but you always had some excuse ready to make up for it. How nice would it be not to lie and simply tell him you are staring because he's so god-damned handsome?
"Why aren't there any cabs here?" you start shaking again and it's getting harder to hide it
"I thought you said you were gonna take the bus?"
"Yeah, I know, but the bus is gonna take forever and I wanna get home soon" you lie, you don't want this stroll to end, but what else can you say?
"Oh, right, ok. You sure you don't want my coat while we wait?"
"No, thanks... You're so sweet"
"Am I?"
You blush, whispering a soft "you are" and immediately regretting it, hoping that he didn't hear you.
He smiles shyly and you can feel yourself melt at that sight. Ugh, have you mentioned his smile? He can light up any room he's in when he flashes that perfect smile of his, and you are certain your heart skips a beat every time you see it. You can't help to wonder if he's the type of guy that smiles into a kiss... and what would a kiss from him be like...
"You are staring again"
"Fuck, sorry"
"No, no, don't apologize... unless there's something on my face that you are not telling me?" he jokes
You shake your head "There's nothing in your face, it's perfect"
Fuck fuck fuck. What are you doing? You can feel your cheeks burning so you look away to try to find a damn cab that would get you out of there pronto, but you hear him laugh and secretly feel relieved he's not making a big deal out of it like you are.
"You seem different tonight"
You open your eyes wide. "I'm just tired?" you lie again
"No, it's not that..." he squints his eyes "what's on your mind?"
You purse your lips, not trusting your own words at this point. He tilts his head to the side and raises his eyebrows, waiting on your answer. You look around one more time to see if there's any sign of a cab and when you don't, you take a big breath and look at him.
He's perfect.
Ugh, fuck it.
"Honestly?" you ask, and he nods "I'm wondering what kissing you would feel like"
Your stomach is turning, you feel dizzy and you are pretty sure you stopped breathing, but you couldn't stop the words that came out of your mouth so here you are. He's frozen in his place and you can't tell if he's shocked or confused or what, and you don't know what to do. You let out the breath you were holding and turn around to look one more time for a cab that you are pretty sure will never come at this point, nervously biting the inside of your cheek.
"Wait, don't go" he almost pleas, grabbing your hand softly and making you turn around to face him again. He lets go of your hand and moves closer to you, his hand now on the side of your face, his thumb caressing your cheekbone. You take one look at each other and he makes the first move, leaning in, his lips gently capturing yours for the sweetest kiss you have ever had. As you return the kiss, one of your hands moves to his side to rest on his waist, and he takes it as a cue to deepen the kiss, your lips gradually moving from delicately exploring each other to something a little hungrier.
You involuntarily hum and that makes him smile into the kiss, your brain becoming a pile of mush at this point. With one silent peck, you finally remove yourself from his lips but can't dare to look at him, choosing to rest your forehead on his chest instead. You are shaking again and now you don't care why, and his arms immediately circle you as he hugs you with his jacket.
"You are so stubborn, I knew you were cold!" he jokingly scolds you as you laugh while hugging him from his waist, your embrace tighter.
"I think we chose the worst street to look for a taxi" he whispers, and you honestly can't care any less about it. You look up to him and he's already flashing that beautiful smile at you, making you feel like floating.
"I see one!" he suddenly yells, frantically waving his hand at it, and you secretly wish it wouldn't stop so you can stay like this all night long.
Only when it actually stops is when you break your embrace and realize just how freaking cold it actually is. He opens the taxi door but you decide to try your luck one more time.
"Would you like to come home with me?"
He doesn't say anything for what feels like an eternity, his glare intense, but a smirk that soon turns into a smile creeps up his face as he nods, kissing you once more before jumping in with you.
Your cheeks hurt from all the smiling but who cares anymore.
“JINKIII I CANT FIND THE BREAST PUMP”, you yell from the living room.
“It’s right here honey”, your husband of 6 years says as he walks in the room with the breast pump in his hand.
You and Jinki have 3 month old twin girls and “chaotic” wasn’t even the word for your household.
Your babies were gonna wake up soon and you knew you had to pump before they woke up because they would be hungry.
“Thank you baby”, you say grabbing the pump from him.
You lift your shirt up and connect the suction cups to your nipples. You wince as you feel the pump start to work.
You sigh, you were exhausted. You woke up early because the twins were fussy and you have to pump every second of the day and when you did have down time you were having to clean up the house and do laundry.
You doze off. As you were dozing off, you heard a cry (two cries in fact). You see your husband holding both of the twins. You hold your hands out signaling for him to hand them over.
He shakes his head.
“Just give me the bottles and I’ll take care of the rest”, he gives you a soft smile.
He could tell you were tired.
“No baby it’s okay, I have to take them a bath and everything.”, you say while unhooking the pump from your breasts.
“I can do it baby, just get some rest”, he assured you.
“Are you sure?”, you look at him with tired eyes while handing him the bottles.
“Yes, I got this”, he says while grabbing the bottles from you.
You watch as your husband take the girls to the back and you lay down.
It felt good to finally lay down without babies or pumps attached to you. You loved your girls to death but it was exhausting being a mom to twins.
After a couple of hours, you still hear quiet. You stand up and look around for your family.
You go to the twins room and you see your husband laying your babies down.
You smile and wonder what you could’ve done for such a wonderful partner.
He turns around and looks at you and gives you that breath taking smile you’ve loved since college.
He walks toward you and you both walk out, making sure to not wake the girls.
You walk into the kitchen and was beginning to prepare to cook but Jinki stops you.
“Baby we can order out, no cooking tonight.”, he says while wrapping his hands around your waist.
“No baby, it’s fine, I’ll cook”, you say turning around, facing him.
“No, I want you to get some rest, it’s the least I could do.”, he says before planting a small kiss on your forehead.
He orders pizza for you and you try to find a movie you both could watch.
He sits beside you.
“I love you so much Y/N. You and the girls are the best thing that has ever happened to me”
“I love you more Jinki, what’s wrong?”, you say looking at him.
“Nothing, I just always feel so bad because there’s nothing I can really do. You feed the twins, you bathe them, and you deal with them. You always looks so exhausted with having to pump all the time.” Jinki says, voice softening.
“Jinki, baby, you don’t have to feel bad. It’s a mother’s duty. And you don’t have to do anything but exist. I know you help sometimes and plus you work to provide since I’m out of work right now”, you kiss him.
“I love you so much beautiful”, he says looking into your eyes.

Genre: Dad!AU/Fluff
Pairing: Onew x You
Warnings: None

“Mommy!”
You heard the very excited, high-pitched voice of your four-year-old daughter right before you heard the pitter-patter of her running feet heading into your bedroom.
Luckily, Onew scrambled out of bed and managed to catch her before she could launch herself onto your mattress.
“Hey,” he chuckled as she let out an ‘ooph’ when he gently grabbed her and scooped her up into his arms. “Morning, princess. Mommy’s not feeling too well, so we’ve got to let her rest, okay, sweetie?”
You couldn’t help but smile softly at the sound of your husband’s voice. Even though you felt absolutely awful -- you were pretty sure you had the flu -- and even though he had been a father for over four years now, just imagining Onew with your daughter made your heart glow with warmth.
“Oh,” you heard your daughter whisper. “...What’s wrong?”
“She’s just sick,” Onew assured her. You heard his footsteps padding away, obviously carrying your daughter out into the hallway to take her downstairs. “She’ll be okay in a couple of days.”
“Ohhhhh. So, she has to sleep and she’ll feel better?”
“Yes, my darling. She has to sleep, and then she’ll feel better.”
“Okay,” your daughter sighed as they began to go down the stairs. “Daddy, I’m hungry.”
If you hadn’t been almost asleep, feeling so terrible and disgusting, you would have said Onew’s next words out loud. Because you knew exactly what they were going to be.
“Hi, Hungry. I’m Onew,” your husband replied seriously.
“Daddy!” your daughter groaned. “No, I’m really hungry!”
“Hi, Really Hungry. I’m Really Onew.”
Your daughter knew better. She shouldn’t have groaned at him. That only fueled him, and she was both old and smart enough to have figured that out!
Their exchange continued on until they got downstairs, their voices and words fading the farther away they got from your bedroom.
There was no doubt about the fact that you loved your husband and daughter with your whole heart. With every fiber of your being.
But when you were sick, feeling as lousy as you were right now, you couldn’t help but let out a weak sigh of relief once you were alone. You had absolutely no energy right now, and you felt like you could sleep for about six years.
Also, you didn’t want to get either of them sick. That, of course, was the most important reason why you were relieved they had left.
Of course.
Obviously!
It didn’t take long for you to fall back asleep, and you slept pretty soundly until Onew woke you up several hours later.
“Y/N,” he said softly, rubbing your back and shoulder gently to try and rouse you from your slumber.
A confused and weary hum left your lips, and you opened one eye just enough to make out his form sitting on the edge of the bed.
“I brought some soup for you,” he told you. And before you could respond with an expression of disgust (because literally, nothing sounded appetizing right now) he pressed on. “You’ve got to eat something, don’t fight me on it.”
So you simply let out a sigh and began to sit up as best as you could.
“Thank you,” you croaked as he placed a tray over your lap.
“I made some tea and brought you some water, too,” he explained, taking the napkin and tucking it into the collar of your shirt. “You need to make sure you don’t get dehydrated.”
You nodded before sliding the spoon from the tray and moving to begin eating your soup.
“How’s --” you started.
“She’s fine,” Onew interrupted with a soft smile. “She’s downstairs watching a movie. I’ll probably take her to the park later if that’s okay with you.”
You nodded again, slurping some of the broth from your spoon. “I’ll just be sleeping. Don’t worry about me.”
“Yeah, right,” he replied with a quiet chuckle.
As you continued to eat your soup and drink your tea, Onew sat there, smoothing your hair back from your forehead and checking to make sure you didn’t have a fever. Even though you still felt physically sick, his attentions were enough to soothe you -- as they always were.
One of the many reasons you had married Onew was that he was always somehow able to calm you down. He had both a calming energy and a ridiculously happy energy about him, and whenever you were freaking out about one thing or another, all he had to do was smile at you. Or hug you. Or frame your face and tell you everything would be okay.
And, magically... they would be.
If only he could kiss your forehead and zap the flu right out of your body.
“What else do you need, my love?” he asked when you set your spoon down in your empty bowl a few minutes later.
“I need... a clear nose and a throat that doesn’t hurt and a hot bath with Epsom salts.”
“Well, I can do the bath part,” he grinned. “The other two, I will try my best, but I can’t make any promises.”
You shot your husband a pathetic smile, wishing you could lean in and kiss him with gratitude. But you certainly didn’t want to pass on whatever this was to him; he was far better at taking care of you than you were at taking care of him. You loved him and did your best, of course, but he always seemed to know what you needed before you knew what you needed -- especially when you were sick.
“All right,” he sighed, taking the tray from your lap and placing it on the floor. He stood and reached behind you to fluff your pillows before murmuring, “Go ahead back to sleep, Pumpkin.”
You slid down underneath the covers, settling in on your newly-fluffed pillow and trying to suppress a cough.
“We’ll go ahead on to the park, but call me if you need anything, okay?”
You nodded -- though just barely -- and let your eyes flutter closed as you felt Onew tucking the covers around your body.
You didn’t fall asleep quite as quickly as you had earlier, and you were still awake when you heard your husband and daughter leave through the front door to go to the park.
You managed to sit up just enough to look out the window, a tiny smile tugging at your lips when you saw them walking hand-in-hand down the street. The local park was less than half a mile away, so the three of you frequently walked there to play or have a picnic or just enjoy the weather and scenery.
The two of them had barely left your driveway before you saw your daughter tilt her head up and say something to Onew. A second later, he bent down and scooped her up.
Of course.
From the way he treated you, you knew beforehand he would most likely be a bit of an indulgent father... and you had been completely and utterly correct.
Honestly, you were a little surprised your daughter had even learned to walk properly because her father had insisted on carrying her almost everywhere starting from the time she could crawl.
And, apparently, he would continue to carry her until he physically couldn’t anymore.
You waited until they had turned the corner in your neighborhood before settling back down and drifting off back to sleep. Thoughts of your daughter playing happily on the park playground eased your mind even though you yearned to be there with her.
The second you felt better, you would take her back there and push her on the swings.
The next day, you felt a tiny bit better, but you still had no energy to even get out of bed.
Onew continued to care for both you and your daughter, bringing you soup and medicine and taking her to the park or the grocery store.
There had been a couple of times when Onew had gone out of town in the last four years, and you had taken care of your daughter all by yourself.
It had been kind of exhausting, so you couldn’t even imagine how tiring it was to not only take care of her but take care of you, as well.
And the most frustrating thing was that you couldn’t even properly thank him! You couldn’t hug him or cuddle him or kiss him or anything!
All of that would have to wait until you weren’t sneezing and coughing every fifteen seconds.
But, as it is with most illnesses, you continued to feel just a tiny bit better every single day. Onew eventually had to go to work, dropping your daughter off at her preschool on the way and picking her up as he came home, though you simply took all that alone time to rest up and gain your strength back.
Finally, when Onew arrived home from work with your daughter in tow nearing the end of the week, you had successfully gotten out of bed and began preparing dinner. Something other than soup.
“Hey!” Onew greeted with delight when he saw you standing in the kitchen.
“Mommy!” your daughter cried, running up to you and throwing her arms around your knees. “Are you all better?”
“I think so,” you chuckled as you ruffled her hair.
Onew set his briefcase down in one of the kitchen chairs, his smile bright as he made his way over to you. “You didn’t have to make dinner,” he said before he leaned in and placed a kiss on your cheek.
“I feel almost like a normal person, so I wanted to do something normal,” you explained with a small shrug.
Onew simply kissed your cheek again before reaching down and tapping the top of your daughter’s head. “Go wash your hands, Cupcake. Then you can go and watch some TV before dinner.”
Your daughter obeyed like the perfect angel she was, shuffling into the bathroom nearby.
Onew then wrapped his arms around your middle, leaning over and resting his chin on your shoulder. “You sure you’re feeling up to it?”
“Yes,” you promised, tilting your head to rest it against his. “Besides. You’ve done enough by yourself.”
“Oh, come on, it wasn’t bad. You know I’ll always take care of you when you need me to,” he murmured.
A smile pulled at your lips as you stirred the vegetables in the pan on the stove. “Yeah, I know,” you answered quietly. Because you did know it.
But the thing was... you didn’t even need a reminder. You didn’t need to be sick in bed to remember how amazing of a husband Onew was. He made sure to remind you every single day by just being himself.

A/N: Finally I finished this smh. This was supposed to be just a short Christmas special angst, but then there were so many updates about Jinki’s enlistment so I decided to make it longer. And it’s super soft, but still kinda sad idk.
-
It seemed perfect. There were Christmas lights everywhere, candles were lit and there was a mistletoe above a door frame. It felt like Christmas, but the difference was, that it wasn’t even Christmas, not even close. But why would you be celebrating it so early?
“Here!” Onew smiled wide while holding a wrapped present at you. “Merry Christmas!”
You sighed softly so your boyfriend wouldn’t hear. It was him why you had you Christmas weeks early because he had to leave to do his military service. He wouldn't be there to celebrate Christmas with you.
“Thank you Jinki”, you said with a smile as you took his present.
Onew smiled to you widely, like he would always do. His eyes were bright and wide while he looked at you.
You shook your head and put his present away to grab yours to him. You took the gift, it was medium size and hard. You held it to him.
“Merry Christmas, my love”, you said.
Onew seemed pleased, like a child on Christmas. He grabbed the gift, then looked up at you with those smiley eyes that made you soft and that wide smile that made you melt.
“Thank you, baby!” he said with a wide smile.
You chuckled. “You don’t even know what’s in it”, you said.
“It’s a gift from you, so I know I’ll like it”, he answered with a cheesy smile.
You shook your head with another chuckle, crossing your arms. You raised your brows while you stared at him.
“Well, open it then.”
You didn’t need to tell him twice as he excitedly, but carefully took the wrapping paper off to reveal the book you had bought him. When he saw the object, his eyes light up and his already wide smile became even wider.
You pursed your lips together, somehow feeling unsure. “It’s not much, but I remember you said you wanted it… so…”
You looked away nervously. However, your loving boyfriend walked up to you, placing his hand on your cheek to get your attention. His brown eyes looked into yours in a warm way, making you feel safe and loved. He leaned in and gently pecked your lips.
“I love it”, he assured with his comforting smile.
You smiled back. Onew placed the book aside and reached to grab his present for you from where you put it.
“Open it!” he said with another bright smile.
You chuckled at his enthusiasm and took the soft packaging. While you ripped the paper open, much more carelessly than Onew, he stared at you carefully. Inside was a shirt, but not any other shirt. It was his shirt. You recognized it, because you had worn it many times. It was your favorite shirt.
You raised your eyebrow. “Isn't this yours?”
He nodded. You felt something hard in there too, so you gently opened the shirt and picked what looked like a framed picture. It was of him, smiling wisely. You recognized that one too. It was from your first real vacation together, you took the picture.
“Your shirt and a picture of you?” you asked curiously.
Onew nodded firmly again and began to explain. “It's a picture you took of me that I liked so much. You can look at it while I’m away and remember me. And the shirt, you always use it. You basically own It already.” He chuckled at the last part.
You let out a soft “aww".
“Also, I’ve worn the shirt a lot lately and I haven't washed it” he continued. “So you can wear it when you miss me...”
You blinked two times as you stared at him, then out of curiosity you brought the shirt to your nose and sniffed it. It has Onew's scent. His cologne, his shampoo, and his own scent all mixed in. You smiled. Such little gifts with so much meaning thought and love put into them.
“Thank you Jinki', you spoke and hugged him tightly. “I love it.”
He hugged you back, just as tightly. It felt like home, being in his arms. And so, you sighed as you remembered that he had to leave. Of course, your loving boyfriend heard you and so he loosened his hold to see your face, concern in his eyes.
“What's wrong?” he asked, though you were pretty sure he knew the answer to that.
“You're leaving...” was all you could say.
Onew sighed, but smiled at you, just slightly. “But I’ll be back. I’m not going away forever.”
“But-!” you pouted at him. “It's still over a year!”
He chuckled. “Not like I’m not going to be able to contact you at all during that time.”
You then glared at him. “But only like… a few times.” You took a deep breath, “It's almost two years, Jinki, TWO YEARS. What if I was pregnant? You wouldn't be able to see your child being born!”
Onew's eyes widened with his eyebrow rising. “You're pregnant?”
“Oh my god, no!” you replied in slight panic. “I was just saying that it's a long time...”
Onew closed his eyes and shook his head gently. He pulled you into another hug, kissing your shoulder very gently.
“It'll be okay.”
You felt like your knees were failing you. All this man had to do was to talk with his reassuring voice and you felt like everything was fine. All it took was to be in his arms and you felt so safe.
Then, you felt his plump lips on your neck, and suddenly the mood had changed from cute to a lot less cute.
“Speaking about babies-" he interrupted himself as he leaned back and stared at you with a mild grin. “I had another present in mind, in case you wouldn't have liked what I already gave you. But I mean I could give you that also, in the bedroom~”
“Oh my god, Jinki", you playfully and gently slapped his chest. He simply chuckled, but it wasn't like his adorable chuckle, no, it was a lot less adorable. But, you yourself were in the mood now, and besides, it would probably be the last time for a while.
“How could I say no to that?”
Onew's grin turned to his more excited smile, and he grabbed your hand, leading you in the bedroom. It still sometimes baffled you that he could turn from so sexy to so cute in a second. However one thing was certain, he wouldn’t be so cute once you’re tasting that forbidden fruit. But something told you, it would be even more special and lasting this time.

A few days had passed and it was time for your boyfriend to enlist. He had cut his hair already and looked more like a soldier. It was a drastic change as you were so used to his hair being soft and fluffy, but he looked as handsome as ever. He simply looked good no matter what.
It was your last moments together before he had to go.
You could’ve been allowed to be there at the ceremony, his bandmates and his mother would be there too, but you decided against it. Due to your relationship being a secret, you wouldn't want to risk a dating scandal now. It wouldn't be fair for him. Onew obviously tried to assure you that even if the rumors start, it wouldn't be a big deal, but you had made your decision. Besides, it felt easier this way.
Not too long and he’d have to leave, leave for many months. Onew and you sat at the kitchen table, both quiet. He looked at the clock and took a deep breath. You didn't even have to look, you knew it was soon time for him to go.
“Are you sure you don't want to come?” he broke the silence. “We can make sure that no one will know who you are.”
You raised your hand up and tried to smile. “No Jinki, I’ve made my mind. You know journalists and even fans can turn into Sherlock type detectives.”
He pouted his lips and crossed his arms, muttering quietly. You closed your eyes for a second then stood up from your seat and walked next to Onew. He looked at you and then stood up himself. You wrapped your arms around him and buried your head in his chest. He placed his hands on you gently for a hug.
You pulled back and looked up at him. “See? I wouldn't be able to do this if I was there, and it would kill me.”
Onew nodded his head in understanding, then took you back to his tight embrace. When you looked up to him again, he placed his other hand under your jaw and pulled you in for a tender kiss. You closed your eyes while you kissed him back.
But your perfect moment was cut off short as Onew's phone started to ring. You two separated and he sighed. He took his phone and answered the call.
“Hi", he greeted whoever was behind the call. “Yes. I know. I’m ready. I’m at my girlfriend's place I told you. Okay, bye.” And so he pressed the screen to end the call.
“My ‘taxi'", he joked. “I have to go.”
You nodded your head. You gazed into his eyes, placing your hand on his cheek. He leaned into your hand slightly.
“My handsome soldier”, you said. “Go get ‘em.”
Onew smiled his precious smile, then took a step back and saluted you. “Yes, ma'am!”
You giggled at his silliness and he laughed with you. Then he grabbed your hands gently, keeping his eyes locked to yours. You two held hands for what felt like forever.
“I love you", he said. “I’ll come back to you soon if you’ll wait for me...”
“I’ll wait for you, even if it took ten years, I’ll wait for you", you replied. “I love you so much, Jinki.”
Onew looked a little distressed for a moment, and he opened his mouth, but once again he was cut off rudely by his phone. He groaned in disapproval and answered.
“Yes, I’m coming. I was just saying goodbye to my love”, he shook his head and then ended the call.
“Sorry, I really have to go now.”
“I know.”
Onew quickly rushed to the door and put his jacket on with his shoes. You followed him, feeling your sadness slowly returning. As your lover glanced at you, he most likely could see the sadness in your eyes.
“I'll be back before you know it!” he said reassuringly. “And hopefully I don't miss my child being born.~”
Your mouth opened dramatically. “Jinki!”
“I’m kidding", he chuckled. “But I mean, I do hope I wouldn't miss that.”
“You just concentrate on finishing the military service.” You shook your head. “I’m fine.”
You could see Onew's grinning that childish-like devious smile, and like always your rolled your eyes at it.
Suddenly he wrapped his arm around your lower back and pulled you close to him. Without hesitation, he connected your lips and kissed you one last time. You could feel yourself melting into a kiss and suddenly couldn't wait for him to come back all buff and built and do that again.
He leaned away and stared into your eye for a few seconds, looking all serious. “My love...”, he said. “I promise, I’ll come back as a man worthy of you.”
You opened your mouth about to protest, but he pecked your lips again before letting go of you. He opened the front door and looked around before he noticed his lift and he turned around, bowed at you.
“Wait for me. I will come back.”
You smiled, “As I said Jinki, I will wait for you. Forever if need be.”
He smiled at your answer, then turned around and nearly ran to the car. He stopped before he went in to wave at you and you waved back. Then you watched as he went inside and the car drove off.
