Jon speaks to their unborn baby every night from the first day Sansa tells him she’s pregnant. It’s a nightly ritual, he comes to join her in their bed and he climbs into bed and rests his head against her belly and just talks. He talks about the day or tells them the same stories he and Sansa listened to as kids.
On their wedding day, Jon tucks a winter rose into Sansa’s braids and will bring her a bouquet of them for every birth, birthday, or just because moment. For the one year anniversary of their marriage and Jon’s crowning as KitN, Sansa sews herself a beautiful gown with blue roses sewn into the skirt.
Speaking of dresses, on every trip Jon takes to King’s Landing he returns with bolts of fabric for Sansa. She makes her own dresses even as queen as well as provides clothes for those who need it.
Jon is the only person Sansa shares her lemoncakes with.
Jon is from nothing but old family connections and he has a non profit he’s desperate to get buzz
the famous and ultra wealthy Danielle Targaryen walks into his nonprofit one day and says she wants to work with him and add him to her charity list
she actually really wants his dick.
Jon just wants press. Her PR manager suggests they date so D looks good (her last boyfriends were...interesting...lets say prison) and Jon’s nonprofit gets attention.
Jon agrees because he’s desperate.
D obviously wants more and Jon is a bit of a bastard who indulges her whims.
Enter the famous Stark daughter Sansa. Instagram beloved. Used to be model. Owns a hot and trendy bakery shop.
Jon grew up around the Starks bc Lyanna and Ned were childhood friends.
Jon and Sansa were never close though. They both found each other dull and pretentious.
It’s been a few years. Jon mostly has contact with Robb and Arya but he bumps into Sansa at one of D’s party.
OH NO THEY BOTH GOT HOT.
D makes it very obvious to the pretty redhead that Jon is hers.
(of course Sansa already knew its all over the papers)
Sansa realizes pretty quick its fake on Jon’s part and precedes to drag the fuck out of him and his false morals.
Jon is into it. He’s VERY into it.
He starts texting her bc Jon is a bit of a dickhead in this AU.
Sansa doesn’t really mind tho.
They both play like they’re just family friends.
Until they both get drunk at a party and D has to leave early and they end up making out in the back of a cab they share home.
Jon goes on dates with D and gets papped every where
Sansa sneaks in his back garden gate every night.
They mayhaps fuck in one of D’s rented apartments one night.
M E S S Y
Sansa doesn’t wanna hide. She doesn’t tell him
This will look bad for both of them.
They both pretend it’s just a messy fling.
its not though. It’s really not.
And I scream, "For whatever it's worth
I love you, ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?"
A JONSA HOMG I AM SO EXCITED. Thanks, nonny! :D <3
23. who’s more jealous?
I mean, on one hand, we have Mr. Touch My Sister And I’ll Kill You Myself, so I think it’s safe to say Jon’s the jealous one here. The young men at court learn early on to never treat Lady Sansa with disrespect. Of course, that’s not to say Jon is against men appreciating his cousin’s wife’s beauty - he regularly announces it to the hall: “Is my Lady Wife not the most beautiful creature in this realm?”
Of course, the young men learn the right and wrong way to compliment Lady Sansa. Through hearsay, they all come to understand that red hair is lucky, and Tormund is delighted when all the men repeat his oft-used phrase: “Lady Sansa is kissed by fire and as such is lucky and remarkably beautiful.” This, of course, is also one of the few compliments that do not instantly make Jon mad.
The one time a young lordling looked at The Wolf Bit a little too closely, Jon had him sent away to the Vale.
Sansa, however, hasn’t been jealous since she walked in on three Northern ladies flirting with her then-cousin only to hear him continually repeat “But how is Sansa this beautiful? And smart and generally wonderful??”
43. who would be more afraid of the other’s death/harm?
Sansa worries for Jon’s safety on the battlefield, of course, but she trusts him to be able to protect himself, even if she doesn’t think much of his (or anyone’s, really!) ability to protect her. But she does have many many many backup plans for if he drops dead, though none of them include forcing him back into the realm of the dead ala Melisandre. She knows it hurts him, and she doesn’t want that for him.
Jon, however, legit has no idea what he would do if any harm came to Sansa. He’s been heard to say: “She brought me back. Without her, I am lost.”
49. do they think about each other a lot? does it affect their performance/schoolwork?
They think about each other a lot - but both are professional enough in their King-ing and Queen-ing to keep business and pleasure separate. The only way their relationship affects their work is in the way they each consider the other. Sansa frequently runs through the effects her edicts/actions could have on Jon and his cause, and Jon hears Sansa’s voice in his head every time he has to make an important decision.
So in a way, thinking about each other affects their performances positively!
A Jonsa Halloween reverse ugly duckling Cinderella headcanon that, um, kind of got away from me, okay? Fluffiest of fluff below!
***
Sansa always dresses up as Cinderella on Halloween. She knows how to sew and she’s been making her own gown since she was ten. She’s seventeen now and it’s a marvel, sewn-on crystals, silver mesh overlay, tulle underskirts, A teen fashion magazine even asked her to do a shoot until Ned put his foot down.
Joffrey was going to be Sansa’s Halloween dance date but they’ve broken up, and Sansa’s relieved. She’s also heartbroken, though she only lets a few close people know it. Margaery, Arya, and, oddly enough Robb’s best friend Jon, who’s been away at boarding school the past two years.
Jon was hard to talk to when they were younger but he’s easy to write to. They started exchanging letters after Sansa clipped out an article about fencing from the newspaper, feeling like her bloody mom the whole time. She includes a note about how she hopes he’s found a fencing team.
Jon surprised her by writing back, and now she hurries to the mailbox each day, because even though she’s pretty sure Margaery and Arya know about her pen-pal, she’d like to keep it her own secret for a little while.
She writes him a wild, sad letter after the Joffrey breakup, almost like a diary entry, and before she can stop herself she mails it. She has a pit in her stomach the entire week, because if anything scares a guy off (and apparently Jon’s a guy she doesn’t want to scare off, but she’s not looking at that emotion too closely) it’s exclamation marks and crossed-out words and sort of general sobbing onto a page.
Jon’s letter back is the thickest one yet. He tells her that Joffrey sounds like an asshole, and he assumes Robb’s pummeled the prick, but if not Jon will happily sneak out and come home and do the job, and she almost believes him, he sounds so fierce.
But then he tells her funny stories about his boarding school mates, and she’s laughing for the first time in days reading about Pyp and Grenn and Sam and the Cafeteria Caper, he capitalizes it and everything, and it should be corny but it isn’t.
He ends by saying he hopes she doesn’t let Joffrey take Halloween away from her, and that she can still enjoy the magic of it like she did when they were kids. He says he’ll be there to cheer her on for the dance, he has an October break and he’ll be home Halloween weekend.
She writes him back, her fingers shaking, and asks if he would think about being her date? She’d buy him the Prince Charming costume so he wouldn’t have to worry and she knows he doesn’t have long in town so she totally understands if he can’t do it and she’s babbling, in a letter, how she managed that she’s not sure. But she is nervous, when she slips the letter in the mailbox.

She tells herself it probably won’t even get there in time. It’ll be good to see him next weekend either way.
Margaery taps on her door Halloween afternoon and tells her to don that ethereal, gorgeous confection of a gown, because she’s got a surprise for her, and she is going to that dance. Sansa grumbles that she’s not in the mood for surprises, she’d rather have a good sulk, but Margaery tells her not to dawdle. Margaery won’t give her any details, just smiles that enigmatic smile when Sansa asks her what’s going on.
Soon she’s being practically shoved outside. The Stark house is a mansion, really, set back from the street, with a long, winding staircase and a wrought iron railing. Spotlights show off her mother’s garden, and Sansa squints and sees….a man who must be Jon at the bottom of the steps. This Jon is dark, and filled out, and breathtakingly handsome, so different from the scrawny teen Sansa remembers that’s she’s thrown off guard for a minute.
They go to the dance and he’s still Jon, awkward and shy, but she coaxes him out of it and thanks him for writing to her. They manage to start talking after that, and even though she’d expected Jon to step on her toes he doesn’t, not once. He confides that Pyp taught him to dance, a little, and she shoes away the silly thought that Jon might have practiced for her.
It gets close to midnight and she leans in and murmurs she has to get back, or she’ll turn into a pumpkin. Jon says isn’t that the coach?
She teases him, because he used to call Disney movies a tool of the patriarchy. Jon smiles at that, says she isn’t wrong. But maybe he watched one or two, because how could he form an opinion otherwise?
They drive back to the Stark house and Jon gets out of the car to see her off. Sansa wonders playfully if she should leave her shoe on the stairs? Jon rubs the back of his head and says she can, but he knows her, he wouldn’t have to look for her, though he would if she wanted. His gaze is soft and serious, and suddenly Sansa isn’t so sure if they’re joking anymore.
Sansa’s flustered, and can’t figure out how to say goodnight. In the end she hugs him, because they’re friends, almost family, and she should not feel the way she does about his dark eyes.
He hugs her back for a beat too long and Sansa rests her head on his shoulder. Jon mumbles a question about whether he can still write to her and without thinking Sansa says she runs to the mailbox to check for his letters.
She pulls away from him mortified, stammering, until he confesses he does the same thing. His mates kid him about it, but what would his life be like if he didn’t know who won the next round of Dancing with the Stars?
Sansa realizes he’s easing her fears, trying to reassure her. She takes his hand and squeezes it, leans in to kiss him on the cheek. He goes very still when she brushes her lips over his hint of a beard, and Sansa’s stomach drops, because she thinks she’s misjudged. He’s flushed and quiet and pulls his hand away without a word, hard enough that his glove falls onto the pavement. He almost runs to his car.
Sansa’s shocked, sad, but resigned. She trudges up the stairs. What did she expect? She’s the kid sister of his best friend, he was doing her a favor, did she have to reach for more and try to kiss him?
She stops writing to Jon. She won’t even check the mail, because it’d hurt too much not to see his handwriting peeking out from between the adverts.
Two weeks later Arya yells something in the hallway and an envelope shoots under her door like a hockey puck. Sansa’s heart pounds when she sees her name in Jon’s familiar scrawl.
Jon doesn’t tell her any stories, just starts out with a two-page long apology about how he’s sorry for bolting and she looked beautiful in her dress and he doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable because they’re family and that’s more important than anything and Sansa starts to smile, because Jon’s babbling in a letter, and it’s adorable, especially when he tells her at the end that if she’d give him another chance he would have kissed her back and he totally gets why that might be weird and she can absolutely burn this letter and he’ll act like nothing happened and he really cares about her, no matter what.
She takes a deep breath and writes back, short but sweet, telling him she found a glove on the stairs, it belongs to a wonderful man who danced with her and made her feel special and ran away too soon and could he help her find him?
Arya and Margaery go with Sansa to greet Jon when he pulls into the driveway for Thanksgiving dinner. Sansa hisses at them that she’d like a minute alone with Jon but Margaery just smirks and Arya crosses her arms and grins. Sansa sighs. She knows when she’s been beaten.
She considers it a small victory when they agree to stay on the landing. Sansa manages to give Jon the glove discreetly when he steps out of the car. He starts to try it on, bless him, but Sansa gently takes his wrist and says he doesn’t have to, she knows him after all, and that makes him smile.
Jon cups the back of her head and pulls her closer. She can barely hear the hoots and hollers from the top of the stairs because Jon’s lips are soft and his hand’s pressed to the small of her back. He’s gentle, careful, chivalrous, like a prince, her prince, and she doesn’t plan on letting him get away this time.
Headcanon: After the war is over, Jon and Sansa get married, rule the 7 kingdoms together, and have many beautiful children. But specifically, they have a daughter named Lyanna and Jon is super protective of her [we all know how protective Jon gets over Stark women ;) ] ...And after she falls in love with Dickon Tarly (a total sweetheart and son of the hand of the King Samwell Tarly), Jon and Sansa see the two younglings share a tender moment - and while Jon flies into a murderous rage and is about pound the guy for touching his little girl, Sansa just smiles, holds Jon back and tells him he should be happy that Lyanna has found someone brave and gentle and strong, just like her mother did.
...Oh fuck now I really want to write this into a fic...
I need Jon and Sansa to have a daughter first, a sweet little thing just like her mother, a little girl that Jon falls head over heels for. He carries her around as they go about their daily activities, carrying her on his shoulders when she’s old enough, teaches her to fight with a wooden sparring sword, encourages her in her sewing lessons with her mama, and teaches her how to be a queen someday.
Ghost realizes Sansa's pregnant before Jon does (either modern or canon verse)
(Okay this is show!verse)
Sansa can’t get Ghost to stop following her as she goes about her daily schedule. If anyone approaches her, he bares his teeth and growls, as if he’s protecting a pup. He doesn’t calm until Sansa scratches him behind the ears.
Jon also notices that Ghost beats him to bed most nights, and is always curled up protectively against Sansa. Once, Ghost nearly bit him for trying to get him to move over.
When Sansa is miserably sick the following month and the maester confirms she is with child, Ghost seems content and looks at Jon as if to say “See, stupid? I protect your pup.”
Ghost likes to lay by the fire as Sansa begins to make blankets and such for the babe.

C is for Cloak.
Jon loves the furry direwolf cloak Sansa gave him in Season 6. He only removes it when necessary (i.e., when he’s bathing or eating), and otherwise he refuses to remove it except for when Sansa wants to wash it or mend it. Throughout their long and happy marriage, one of the few arguments they ever repeat is one in which Sansa utters some variation of, “My love, do you reallyneed to be wearing that cloak right now?,” or, “My dear, this cloak grows more threadbare every time I mend it, and I’ve already patched it ten times this year. Why don’t I make you another?”, and Jon replying with an annoyed (but affectionate) grunt. If anyone else dares to remark upon the oddity, the grunt turns into a growl. As the years wear on, he remains almost as protective of the cloak as Ghost is of their children. By the time his and Sansa’s granddaughters come of an age to sew cloaks themselves, Jon’s cloak is made up half of patches and half of its original fabric, but by that time he and Sansa have grown a bit hard of hearing and don’t bother arguing verbally over it. Instead, Sansa shoots him a look dirtier than the cloak whenever she takes it to wash or mend it, and he scowls, and she shakes her head and mutters something about men.
Jon always makes it up to her afterwards with a kiss, though.
