while most of the scions get to reunite with l’aia shortly after her arrival to the first, y’shtola is a bit of a different case! she’s blind, and the magic vision she uses is more akin to aetherial heat vision than full eyesight. by now l’aia has absorbed 2-3 lightwardens, and the corruption in her aether is strong enough that y’shtola doesn’t even recognize her!

and even though she's TOLD l’aia is l’aia, she still can’t SEE l’aia—just the corruption. she goes through the entirety of the shadowbringers leveling experience seeing a monster where one of her dearest friends is supposed to be, that everyone can see AS their friend—except y’shtola.

so you can imagine how HAPPY she must be when l’aia is finally purged of that corruption and y’shtola can REALLY SEE HER for the first time in 3+ years!!! i like to think this was their very first kiss, after a truly INSANE slowburn. it makes me so gooey and happy every time i LOOK AT IT THOSE ARE MY FAVORITE GIRLS IN THE WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOORLD AND THEY FINALLY KISSED

((also i just had to include julie’s extra doodle for their upcoming wedding HJFKHDGJKDGD U ARE THE SWEETEST PERSON ALIVE THANK U FOR ALWAYS BEING SO KIND ABOUT MY CATGIRLFRIENDS!!!!!!!!!))

i've had this idea stuck in my head for WEEKS of my WoL visiting y'shtola a lot in gridania, after she's injured during stormblood! but l'aia works too hard and probably falls asleep on accident a lot. y'shtola doesn't mind though!!

julie did such an amazing job bringing the image in my head to life, i'm SO SO SO blown away and in love with this commission!!!! thank you SOOOOOOO MUCH AGAIN JULIE 🥺🥺🥺💞💞💞
