Absolutely!!

I hc that the reason Jopson was drunk on duty was because he stole from Crozier's liquor stores after being made aware about Crozier's and Ross's affair (or perhaps he'd known for a while but could not take it anymore..? let me know your thoughs)

despite that, he took his flogging as he believed he fully deserved it and it ended up with him being even more devoted to his captain. an obsession if you will.

I also hc Jopson has not touched a drop of alcohol since then (including his daily grog!), which makes Crozier's drunken offers for a drink very awkward..

This also includes Jopson's leg injury, but!! Im fully convinced both his back scars and his leg scars were fully opening and bleeding as they were marching, Jopson just opted not to tell anyone because he is so good at putting on a façade. I mostly hc this because like in the span of like 10 seconds he goes from being fully able to haul to bedridden as soon as he permits himself to rest. just imagine the possibilities of Crozier finding those scars he inflicted upon him years ago slowly killing him... augh they make me sick <3
