Lady Arya was not one to care if those who reported to her did so in their work clothes. She was often dressed the same, as were most of the men and a few of the wildling women who claimed authority over various parts of Winterfells defending force. Lady Sansa Stark on the other hand, had a way of making Jory want to stand up straighter and be seen only in her best. Streaked in filth and wearing her warmest, but most patched pair of breeches was not her best.
wip game "relieve"
A brazier full of glowing coals was emptied over the crenelations, and under the shower of cinders, the wight and its steed went up in flames. Jory caught one last look of the wight, its horrible tarred face stretching horribly as it opened its mouth to shriek as it burned. There was no time to celebrate, only a desperate scramble to burn the next one. And the next.
The giants were still coming when Jory was relieved of duty and collapsed to her cot in the Great Keep.

Jory hadn’t been particularly quiet in her criticism of her sister's decision to support Jon Snow as King in the North. Especially since Jon Snow seemed to fail so completely in every other command he’d been given. An opinion vindicated when scarcely a month after being declared King of the North, he bent the knee to the Dragon Queen.
a lot of these are going to be from my got wip simply due to the fact its the longest wip I have right now lol. for context, it's about jory mormont, one of the mormont daughters who literally never appear in person in the books. she lives in canon, and I basically took a look at her character and went 'free real estate'.

There was a squire standing on the other side of Jasper. His heraldry had been lost among the red and white of the Redfort brothers. Now she could plainly see the flayed man of the Dreadfort painted onto his tourney shield. He was wearing a visored barbuta helmet, though the visor wasn’t closed at the moment.
Staring out at her were the eyes of Roose Bolton, set in a strangers face.
