The Sleepwalker is the 3rd Aidan Waits novel from Joseph Knox. “Waits is on a hospital ward watching a convicted killer and hoping he will give up the location of his last victim. Someone kills Waits and another officer is injured while Waits is out. He is assigned to find the killer and find out what’s going on. What he finds changes everything...” Waits is a character who is damaged and not even sure if he wants to stay around permanently. But he is good at digging up the truth, even if no one wants the truth he finds. This story is gritty and Knox includes the political side of solving crime. Knox gives us a complex, surprising story. And there’s a bit of an ambiguous ending 🤔 Still trying to decide how l feel about it. Another excellent book from Knox.
