If Pom was honest with herself, there weren't many things she would tell him while he was unconscious, cause she probably be too excited. Her hands would shake him awake just so she could share whatever story she had to share with him. Maybe the princess thing would be whispered into his ear, but that felt so irrelevant to whatever was going on. It also seemed like a thing that would create a barrier, and she isn't really ready yet to cause that type of reaction.

they’ve sunk into silence for a while at this point, and really he’s so comfortable that he thinks he might just fall asleep, trusts the younger man enough to do that in his vicinity as well, and it’s a comfortable feeling, that. he’s got his eyes closed anyway, figures dancing in his mind’s eye, the world made of nothing but the warmth of the body against his and the comfort of the mattress beneath him.

and then joules speaks and his eyes open automatically, attention going to the younger man even when his head is still resting against the blond’s feet. the words spoken confuse him for a moment, until that latter part, which is when he remembers his bluntly honest reply when he’d been asked about sex, and that is enough to have him breathe out a smile, amused yet grateful at the same time for the readily made offer.

“thanks, jojo, but i’m good. i don’t really take friends to bed, so to speak.” the words carry a hint of laughter considering they actually are both in bed together right now, but it’s not the exact situation he means, and he figures joules will understand as well. “i don’t like blurred lines very much.” he reaches over again and pats the younger man’s leg, this time managing to actually pat his knee and not some other unfortunate part of the man’s physique.

“thank you for offering, though, that’s very kind of you.”

when the world ends, salathiel is there.

what they won’t talk about later is the town offset by the grey stone and black dirt a few miles away from the temple of eedit, the people who lived there going to the market, playing with their children, making each other laugh or cry or hate, people who were alive one minute and dead the next. history books don’t delve into that sort of thing, don’t read between the lines of blood and guts and carnage, don’t dip long, stringy fingers into the poison of an event, into its gooey, sticky details. the history of this event will always focus on the temple, the loss of jedi, the loss of sacred ground, the burning of the newest incarnation of this ancient order.

but salathiel is there, in the town, when the tri-pointed ships scream into the atmosphere, he’s there when they lay waste to the burden of society, not giving two shits about how far away these people live from the temple, not caring that they aren’t part of the jedi order. the ships still come, and the people still die, and salathiel still runs for the derelict at full speed, primitive houses exploding all around him, everyone rushing for the treeline or the nearest starship that isn’t dropping hell on them all. escape, escape, escape.

he notes only vaguely that strangers not a part of his crew are climbing aboard his vessel, but he has no time to shove them off, no inclination to monitor their arrivals or embarkments. he speeds past them all, his boots loud and throbbing against the metal hull of his ship’s corridors, pushing people out of his way when he has to. something rocks the ship to the left and sal braces himself against the wall, only to rise again and continue on.

when he gets to the bridge, he throws himself into the pilot’s chair, ignoring whoever else has managed to come inside, quick fingers flickering over buttons and flips, praying to the void that this is the right sequence. the engine roars and coughs to life somewhere below his feet, but from the grating sound it’s making, he knows it’s not happy. the derelict is never happy, especially not when he’s driving, but there’s nothing to do about that-- he has no official pilot at the moment. something else shoves at the ship, jerking it roughly. salathiel frowns at the controls; what’s the correct take off cycle again?

Oh, but you know that. There isn’t anyone else that I would rather take on a heist with me, we work well together, don’t we. 

First impression of your muse

Well, i knew you were the pilot already before I saw you, and you flew us out of a very tight situation, so I already had some respect for you, especially since I also heard that you were new too. I mean… I know all these ships are sort of similar and what not, but still, to fly it out of there. So yes, definitely impressed and grateful. Physically, well, I guess exactly what I hoped for.

“You are incredibly reckless. Perhaps even the most reckless, out of all of us. I fear for my life, sometimes, and I technically do not have a life to fear for.” There’s no hint that this might be a compliment, no smile on Eon’s face. Nothing to betray the fact that he admires Joules bravery, that the callous behavior is endearing. “We’re much better off having a pilot like you.”

Eon normally tries not to invade anyone’s space. It’s no more than a second or two, fingers brushing over the tips of a magpie’s wings permanently inked into skin. Eon steps back when the pilot’s shoulders rise sharply, and the other finishes pulling back on his shirt. Joules’ wide-eyed surprise disappears at the sight of who had been touching him. A beginning of a sly smile at the edge of lips followed by a teasing, “all you have to do is ask~”

It’s not Joules hair, though it’s a close second. Not his eyes, either, but the tattoo on his back. Years spent with gangs, and with island natives who had tribal markings that usually meant something probably made him curious about Joules and the magpie. He thinks a bird is rather fitting for a pilot, and wonders if it has any meaning for him. he’s fascinated with the way others chronicle their life experiences in different ways

♦: What they would buy because it reminds them of your muse

Joules seems like a snacker, and Eon doesn’t really need to eat so he doesn’t actually know what many things taste like since his sense for taste is fabricated and based on someone else’s. I imagine he periodically picks up snacks for Joules whenever the Derelict is docked somewhere and brings them, waiting to watch Joules eat it to gauge the reaction. If Joules didn’t seem to like it, he’d probably say, “I see,” with this very concentrated expression and then leave with the goal to find a better snack. No other context provided. 

☆: What they miss about your muse when they’re apart 

   Joules listens, really listens. I think Eon believes at the moment that Joules thinking he’s human, or at least alive, is very important to him because there are differences in the way he’s been treated just because people know he’s not alive. So he misses Joules because Joules is so honest about everything, and treats him like he would anyone else. Joules makes him feel at ease in that way, not so lonely.

Pom wondered if it was meant to be emotional because then she would easily say nothing. There had not been a moment in her life that she wanted to run. It ran in the family to take everything head-on. There was no shame in asking, failing, and then standing back up again. If the question was to be realistically. She was literally running for her life right now, there was this huge question mark hanging above her head. Did her family already found out? Were they going to war? Were they searching for her? “Nothing. I got a pretty clean slate, Joules.”

𝑀𝒶𝓁𝒶𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓉𝑒: Has someone ever been poisonous/toxic to your life?

Personally? Toxic or poisonous were such strong words. There were still a lot of problems between the history of her family and the people from Vena. Pom had never been ignorant of that, but weren’t they suppose to be passionate? It was hard to say, her father always been reticent about the rebellion and how the people might portray them. “In a way that it was damaging to my life? No, and perhaps I have to thank my father for that. I was well protected as a child.”

Self-worth. What’s it worth to you? What am I worth to you?

Pearl: What are you trying to heal from right now?

Oh, still that stupid blaster wound. I swear, I should heed the doctor’s advice, but running around and causing trouble is too addictive, you know. Sal invites me to fight robots, I invite you to go rob an idiot blind. Obviously I’m a very problematic person. 

Grief, always grief, always his dead, over and over again. But I can never heal, I can’t even begin healing if I don’t revenge him first.

Topaz: What is something that you want to do before you die?

Is it bad if I say I want to see someone out-fly you? I think that would be funny, just to see that look on your face. You would probably shrug it off, or blame it on the weather or something, but it would make me laugh.
