He always felt the TARDIS seemed more... energised when he had a Companion alongside him. It may well have been confirmation bias but he was starting to suspect that his Dearheart was as tired of his moping as he was, and she only really worked with him when he wasn’t acting like a git.
It was in the midst of that energy, he had learned something - something tremedous, something earth-shattering, something that could literally rend all conceptions of reality and replace it with a glorious new and shiny reality - and he knew he had to share it with Elizabeth! His feet thundered as he jogged through the corridors towards where he knew he had set Elizabeth up.
Swimming pool, pool room, pool room in the swimming pool- He was struggling to find the room. Was... His Dearheart was playing tricks on him. He knew this old chestnut - it didn’t take too long for him to - sternly - tell the TARDIS that he must speak to Elizabeth at this exact moment and nothing she could be doing could be less important. It seemed she got the message as, a mere moment later, he found Elizabeth’s room.
Flinging open the door, he began began to speak before his eyes caught the television. Then suddenly everything made sense - the whole being locked in a tower all her life thing especially.
... Reality could probably wait a bit. “I’ll be going then.”
