After getting a surprising text from a friend wondering if she'd be joining Zack at the movies, Joy's spidey senses started going off. She hoped in her car so fast and lo and behold: she finally caught the cheater cheating. This is the final straw. She's done.

Lately, Delilah has been struggling more and more with her anxiety. After a particularly bad nightmare, Joy whips up her favorite dinner and asks the kids how they're doing. She knows they hear her and Zack fighting but she wants them to know that they will always be her number one priority.

Luckily, the next day Joy takes a trip up to San Myshuno for The Booky Awards (and for the opportunity to clear her head). While she didn't win this year, she was able to read an excerpt from her novel and tease the audience about what's to come.

Once back home in Willow Creek, Joy tries to have a mature discussion about her feelings. Of course, Zack denies everything. Needless to say, the conversation is not productive.

Joy rang in the New Year alone, looking out over the gorgeous beaches of Sulani while the children slept. She can't help but feel as if her life is about to change and not for the better.
