22. What’s the last thing Shepard ate before the final reaper showdown? honestly, Joyce probably just stuffed a couple chocolate energy bars into her mouth. too anxious to eat anything else, but she was definitely gonna need the fuel.

43. Which version of the Normandy do they like best? (ahhh, me trying not to be biased towards the sr-1 XD) probably the SR-2? she loved the SR-1, but a. spent less time on it, and b. died when it was blown up 💀. that kinda marrs the memory a bit. the SR-2 was a "gift" from Cerberus, but she managed to make it her own through remodeling her cabin.

44. Do they like to rotate out companions for quests? Who do they bring the most? yes! especially in 2, Joyce wants to make sure that everyone is able to work together well, so she always tries to bring out different combinations of folks. the ones she probably ends up with most though throughout the series are Tali, Kasumi, and James (And Moira 😉).

45. Do they approve of curing the genophage? 100%. People have tried to explain why it was necessary to her, and Joyce has just… never bought it. it always sat ill-at-ease with her, even more so after working with Wrex. When the dalatress tries to cut that deal with her in 3, she doesn't consider it for a moment.

14. Any good at flirting? haha, oh god no, Joyce doesn't know how to flirt to save her life. luckily, she managed to get Ethel without it 🥰

27. Do they have any pet peeves? anyone making an absent-minded tapping noise (like tapping a table) drives her bananas. she tries not to let it get to her, because it's fairly harmless, but it usually ends up making her skin crawl and she's just D:

30. What will always make them laugh? oooh, probably like….. puns. no matter how bad a pun is, she has to giggle at least a little.

34. Got any tattoos? not during ME, but potentially afterwards? idk that she's ever thought about it. she'd probably get like forget-me-nots, or like a tattoo set with Ethel.

19. Are there any companions your Shepard just absolutely cannot vibe with or relate to hahahaha, definitely Zaeed. like she's definitely unsure about just straight up hiring a mercenary, and then his whole loyalty mission happens and Joyce is just like "i cannot with this person". she knows there are people like that out there, but him being so calm about "yeah, i'll sacrifice all these people to a firey death just to get my revenge" is baffling to her, in an almost… existential way? tbh, i don't know if she would actually manage to acquire his loyalty or not at the end (and how that might affect the Suicide Mission 👀); she might just be like "okay, we saved the workers, let's gtfo".

27. Do they have any pet peeves? People playing music/videos on handheld devices. 💀 like Joyce is a music fiend, but no matter how technology advances, you cannot make noise sound good coming through those tinny speakers alsfkjsalkfa (also it's rude).

35. Which companions have they lost? How do they cope with it? sweats i'm a "Ash and Kaidan both survive Virmire" headcanoner, so not really anyone? haha. ^^; i'll say she dealt with the losses of Akuze by feeling immensely guilty, getting a lot of therapy, and then striving to move forward and live for those that were left behind.

49. What is Shepard’s happy ending? What’s the dream that keeps em going Retirement on Elysium! 🍵 After the Reaper War, Joyce and Ethel (her wife) buy a home and Joyce spends most of her time cultivating a garden. 🌱

she really likes growing a mix of things. she has a small veggie section, but the majority of it is definitely like flowers and herbs. like forget-me-nots (because i love that flower lol) and daisies and oregano and basil.

ethel definitely tries to help, although her thumb isn’t as green, lol. sometimes she’ll just sit out in the garden to keep joyce company (and try to sneakily sketch her, although joyce knows what she’s doing XD).

35. Speaking of items, what is their most prized possession? If they have one that is.

Joyce doesn't really have one; she's not really had room for a lot of possessions outside of the necessities as part of being in the Alliance. She does love her space hamster, Bud, but calling him a "possession" feels odd. XD

Erin's is the hunting rifle her mother gave her when she turned 15. It's what she used to defend their house during the raid on Mindoir. She didn't use it much as part of the Alliance, but once becoming a Spectre, she mods it out to use it more in the field.

For Ada, it probably seems silly to some, but she framed the letter from the Alliance recognizing her leaving. It was an important step in her life, and whenever she's struggling with med school, she can look at it and remember that this *is* where she wants to be and what she wants to be doing.

Moira's is her art case that she received from Grissom Academy from taking part in their art classes. She's had to replaced the tools and supplies in it more than once, but the case is as sturdy as ever, and it reminds her of a place that welcomed her when she felt utterly alone.
