Nebula - Who is your Shepard’s best friend
JAMES VEGA!!! literally best friend by saweetie ft doja cat starts playing i love them so much. she and james were basically handcuffed to each other for 6 months on earth, so i’m convinced that they achieved their best friend status well before me3 starts. they bond over their love of food and their latino backgrounds (my shepard is mexican and i like to think that james is too). james is even able to arrange a bit of furlough for akira and they go visit her mom and family in mexico for a few days during her house arrest. so by me3, james is considered a family friend, and akira is even more thrilled and super proud when he gets the offer to join N7.
Meteor - Does your Shepard have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
akira is a bit of a perfectionist, so she really berates herself when she messes up, and tends to feel a lot of anxiety over the possibility of making the wrong move or the wrong decision. she even keeps a paper notepad on her during missions to keep track of anything she might forget along the way, little things that could really make or break how a mission goes. that isn’t to say that she’s indecisive but she just needs to know EVERYTHING before moving forward. she overworks herself a lot and that can lead her to not have much of a filter bc she’s got too much on her mind. she tries to cover a lot of her anxiety up with humor, but only those close to her can see past it.
Black hole - What is your Shepard’s greatest fear?
100% her greatest fear is something bad happening to her mother. due to this, she keeps a lot of things about her work private, especially during the hunt for saren. her mother learns not to pry and trusts that anderson is looking out for her. during me2, her greatest fear of her mother being hurt (grieving for her daughter) and her fear of losing herself kind of mix, so she has an incredibly hard time trying to regain a lot of herself after waking up. and it’s hard for me to imagine that miranda would let shepard contact her mother in fear of compromising the mission, and shepard also doesn’t want to put any targets on her back for the collectors or cerberus, so it isn’t until after the collector base that she finally contacts her mother again.
