many many many thoughts about riptide 116 so uhhh do we think destiny's blade is the "first knight" that those shadow people confused gillion for. is that why everything in the hole is so familiar to him. is that why he was so insistent they destroy that fucking egg and the monster inside of it Right Now.

i stand by my theory that the spirit possessing DB is a man named destiny haunting his own sword,,, and if he IS the first knight then. prophetic hero of a time long past literally named destiny. prophetic hero that died horribly in a war he cannot remember, but was so determined to stop this evil that he held on anyway, and became one with his own sword in the process. that wants nothing more than to cut the strings of fate, no matter what the prophecy says. that winds up in the hands of another prophetic hero; young, forced to conform to this role, but still so determined to do good. etc etc you get it

Grizzly: You start hearing the sounds of the ocean. Your vision slowly starts to come back. Like this void, this chaos that you were just in begins to disappear. You hear the creaks of a ship and you realize you're standing on, not a dock, but a plank that leads onto a ship. And you know what this is. And in front of you is the back of a big goliath, gray-skinned. And you stand there for a moment, you look down and you have your swords in your hands, but they just kind of like fizzle out. And you're not bones, you're just Chip in this moment and you hear him speak. You haven't heard his voice in so long.
