25 posts! oh happy birthday my 25th post wasabout autism and my birthday is also on the 25th of this month and i wasnt trying to make a joke when i said oh happy birthday at the start of this pist but then i immediately remembered so retroactively pun intended because i think we all deserve to get a little silly in our lives forwver and ever

the music freaks as a whole is so queer coded like the music club and interest in music is presented in a way that is so reminiscent of queerness its crazy. like the way people treat an interest in music is so strange it makes no sense that anyone would actually care that much that some people liked to make music liek. everyone listens to music yknow. who cares??????????? like its just so weird as a face value thing so it only makes sense that the stigma around music in the music freaks is actually an allegory for stigma that exists in thr real world (i understand that this is a fictional universe and whatnot and like the whole POINT is that people think music is weird but honestly art imitates life and the music freaks isnt so disconnected from reality in its plot and universe despite how dramatized evetything is)

more below the break cuz this got kinda long. lol

of course not everything directly translates, there arent exactly like. school gay competitions or whatever. but just the themes overall are heavily reminiscent of how queer people are shunned and how it effects people differently. for example jake openly presented his interest in music and was super enthusiastic about it until he was shunned and bullied into hiding it and pretending like he was "normal" and not some "weirdo." hailey and zander just go about their lives and stand strong despite the backlash they face (also zander is literally canonically queer and hes not secretive about it) but they of course get reasonably upset and try their best to just ignore the bullying they face or just deal with it. luke i honestly dont think hes even bullied because from what ive seen people mostly focus on other aspects of him, such as how hes kind or athletic and hes overall fairly passive and not that explicitly loud about it. this could be because he knows if hes loud he will get shunned or because hes just chill. which i think the latter is the case because hes so chill. but definitely nto complacent. millie is probably the loudest just in general and she mainly gets bullied for unrelated things. like basically the opposite of luke in terms of how shes treated because people mainly focus on other aspects of her life to shame her for rather than her interest in music, but im sure they would add that on as well if they cared. sean is like a queer elder basically and NO IM NOT CALLING HIM OLD!! hes only a year older than me. just that he is obviously like the oldest and the big brother of the group and i think socially he mainly keeps to himself since he mentions how he likes to be alone, so i dont think people realy bother him that much.

also like. people dont ACTUALLY hate them for playing music they just think theyre weird because of like mob mentality and stuff and this is conveyed in how everyones like omggg guys yay in the second episode i think when jake gets lia to promote the band competition.people are allies if they think its socially acceptable to be allies.

also everyone in the music club is queer like you cant tell me theyre not. two of them canonically but the rest of them i can give a good reason as to why each of them are queer but like i also think a majority of people in the music freaks fandom are queer themselves. i have no proof for this though as i dont exactly. know many music freaks fans personally except a few of my friends who i convinced to get sucked into this hellhole(affectionate) and all my friends are queer soo yeah.

also i dont think that rosyclozy NECESSARILY intended this (she certainly has some queerbaity stuff going on and im not one to assume but to my knowledge she is not openly queer in any way herself. though i mean obvs shes an ally or else she wouldnt have put gay people in it????) but this is my interpretation and im transgender so im right.thats how this works sorry i make the rules.
