J-Smoov is an artist but not just that

If you find yourself walking thru the streets of Phoenix, Arizona and you want to hear some real music from a real artist, you need to find out where J-Smoov is performing. The Monarch Theater on Washington St., in the center of downtown Phoenix, is where you might want to start and its where I first ran into J-Smoov. I remember there being a few sideways looks from the audience but I also remember every single one of them being transformed into looks of admiration and exuberance by the end of his performance. His stage presence and command of the moment really stuck out as the factors that helped his performance standout. The thing is, he also had some really great music to go with it. Those two are not always married to each other when it comes to any level of artistry or exposure. To say that J-Smoov stood out as a diamond in the rough would be a given.
He isn't just a great artist and performer, he is a truly humble guy who appreciates the love he gets from his listeners and fans more than the attention. After his set was over he was chatting it up with some admirers and a few of those converted onlookers took photos in the distance. Respect The Underground, the company putting on the event, decided his set was worthy of shouting out on their story to help highlight the great performers they had that night. J-Smoov was definitely was of them. He was even more gracious and affable outside of the venue and showed us personally that he isn't just a nice guy when the lights are on and everyone is watching. He is a real musician, a real artist, but not just that.
