HALE RESIDENTS SPOTLIGHT, JUNE 2014: J. THEODORE ON 'NEW PEOPLE, OLD MEMORIES.'
H.E.:
It’s almost my second year in Hale after moving from Seattle - though there’s not much to say. My goal this year was to reach out socially, but the opportunities I have had end up idling out? It’s sort of weird. Hale’s like - like a book, I guess. You read, or in this case meet all of these people who don’t seem so bad, but they don’t actually exist. I mean they do, but you see them once and barely hear from them. Is it possible to miss people you even know?
But even though this town is like a book, it reminds me a lot of Marki. I don’t mean to be the cliched young adult who says that the world after high school is a lot light high school, but it sort of is. I mean, Marki’s the poster child of how people are. You meet, you connect - then they’re gone.
I just hope that this time, with these people… I hope that I won’t feel as bad when they don’t show up in my life again.
