A portrait of the eldest Frost child (James 22), the middle (Jasper 15), and the youngest (Judith, 2) that was done upon Suzy's realization that her days of bringing new life in to the world were far behind her.
A somber reminder that Jack likes to lighten up, joking about how the boys look like two gay dudes with their adopted daughter, an immature act of ribbing that Judith joins in on when she's older
Like Parents, Like Child meme for Judith
Which siblings does John have the closest relationship with?
Your love of John has single handedly forced me to lock in and develop him thank you gorgeous ❤️
Judith
As the youngest boy John feels uniquely obligated to watch over her and guide her on the right path, especially in response to Jack and Suzy’s obsessive helicopter parenting of her. Judith was annoyed by this at first and lashed out at him, physically and verbally. John being the stone cold brick house of a man he is, this did not work. She realized that she wasn’t going to get rid of him but that she could use this to her advantage.
She brings him in on her shenanigans and gets him to do things he would normally never do, whether this be prying Jack for information he doesn’t want to give her or allowing Judy to paint his nails.
As time goes on his steadfastness means he’s present for Judith’s more vulnerable moments, John—who doesn’t just want to abandon her at a time like this—gets a little more emotionally literate.
January
I know I know this is probably a surprise!
But, January is a hyper-feminine girl and also buys in to gender roles and hierarchy so her and John really have nothing to clash over.
In fact they agree on quite a lot! They’re both huge patriots and big believers in standing your ground (as in, the law where you can shoot someone for trespassing on your property 😭)
They have very pleasant conversations. Some sort of miracle happens and the two very high strung Frost’s relax for once!
I think you could probably get John to admit she’s one of the only women he looks up to. She’s smart and strong, he thinks she can take care of herself—a big deal coming from John—so he treats her as such, which she really appreciates.
Formulating a secret Brony John headcanon…
Julian
Despite having a decent age gap between them what goes on between Julian and the rest of the family members doesn’t go over John’s head. He can see that Julian does appear to be trying to be a man and fit in with their brothers, he just can’t put his finger on what his older brother is doing wrong at first. Though he’s never liked his attitude.
Julian really hated John sticking his nose where it didn’t belong at first, but as his behaviors isolated him more and more he began to appreciate the proof that someone could seemingly still put up with him.
They really butt heads over the way Julian talks to and about their sisters, there was a time where it seemed like even John was going to give up on him.
He earnestly admires Julian’s skill with his hands, once Julian’s relationships with his family members repair in general he teaches his younger brother some of what he knows. A healthy way to connect with the masculinity he so desperately longs for.
