First time at this Pressed Juicery location in the heart of Venice’s Abbot Kinney shopping district. It’s an attractive shop – white signs, white counter, light woods, refrigerators and two soft serve machines. The offerings are the same at each location, except some locations don’t have Pressed Freeze.

Choose from cold pressed bottled juices, smoothies, almond milk, wellness shots, acai bowls, and snacks. Everything is already made. They also have juice cleanses (e.g., beginner, customer favorite, advanced, half day, etc.).

Juices are now $6.95 ($5.50 for VIPs). The smoothies are too sweet. Ask for free samples so you can decide for yourself. I like the vanilla almond milk and green juices. I used to get Freeze often – the vanilla flavor is the best.

Freeze is made with 100% fruit, vegetables and nuts – so it’s vegan, no sugar added, low cal, gluten free and dairy free. It has no additives or binders. You can top your Freeze with healthy, quality toppings like fresh fruit, granola, chocolate chips, coconut, nuts, nut butter drizzles, etc. The almond butter is the best topping.

Unfortunately, they just reformulated Vanilla Freeze and I think the other Freeze flavors too. Vanilla Freeze now has coconut milk, oat flour, tapioca syrup, agave syrup, etc. It’s not as clean as it used to be (they’ve added a lot more ingredients).

Vanilla Freeze (Size 1 with toppings, $5.75): My favorite thing about Freeze was that it was less sweet and tasted natural/clean. The reformulated Freeze is much sweeter. It’s also thicker, creamier, and not as clean. The sweetness overwhelmed the flavor of the toppings. I’m so sad.

Service was friendly. FYI, members/VIPs get a discount off the listed prices. While its free to become a member, you do have to load the account every month with at least $10. There’s also a rewards program where you earn points for purchases. There are frequent promotions. I definitely recommend the membership if you like their juices and live in the area. You can save quite a bit of money.

Now that they’ve made Freeze worse, I’m going to stick to the juices and nut milks. Update: they brought back the original Vanilla Freeze!

This Pressed is located at the busy Encino Courtyard. It has Freeze! Four flavors a day. And of course they have cold pressed bottled juices, smoothies, almond milk, wellness shots, acai bowls and snacks. Ask for free samples. I’ve had many of their juices (most) and tried most of the smoothies. They’re good about coming out with new juices and Freeze flavors. I don’t like their bottled smoothies (too sweet).

Blood orange kumquat juice ($6.95/ VIP $5.50): light, tangy, slightly bitter – tastes a bit like grapefruit juice, liked it

Vanilla Freeze (Size 1 with toppings, $5.75): On the icy side and slightly gritty but I like it because it tastes cleaner and isn’t as sweet. I also love the almond butter topping.

Service was very friendly and it’s a nice looking, white/minimalist space. FYI, members/VIPs get a discount off the listed prices. While its free to become a member, you do have to load the account every month with at least $10. There’s also a rewards program where you earn points for purchases.

There are frequent promotions. I definitely recommend the membership if you like their juices and live in the area. You can save quite a bit of money.

The Pressed Juicery at Del Amo is one of their larger locations. In addition to the cold-pressed juices that they’re known for, they have shots, smoothies, smoothie bowls, Freeze (plant-based soft serve) and Frozen (plant-based, coconut based desserts sold in pint form). Juices are $6.95 and $5.50 for VIP members. The cold-pressed juices are not organic and they use plastic bottles. A juice is 15.2 oz.

I’ve had most of their juices and tried most of their products. I like most of the juices, especially Orange Turmeric, Turmeric Almond Milk, Greens 3, and Vanilla Freeze soft serve. I don’t like the ones with monkfruit though. The smoothies were too sweet for me.

Samples, discontinued during COVID-19, are back.

Interesting how Pressed took over the old Pinkberry space back in 2016. I can still see traces of Pinkberry, like the vertical line design and the old Pinkberry chairs. It’s a small location with a few tables outside and a shared parking lot (if you find a space, you should feel lucky).

Pressed is known for cold-pressed juices. They also have pre-made bottled smoothies, almond milk, wellness shots, Pressed Freeze (non-dairy soft serve), and acai/smoothie bowls. Prices increased slightly recently. VIP members used to pay $5 per juice and now the new price is $5.50 for VIP members and $6.95 for non-members. That’s still cheaper than most juice places. While its free to become a member, you do have to load the account every month with at least $10.

Saffron badam: This is a new drink; it has agave, almonds, walnuts, sea salt, curry powder, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, cardamom, and saffron extract. It’s pretty sweet but saffron badam usually is on the sweet side. While there are a lot of ingredients, the spices are balanced – no spice is overwhelming. The saffron is probably the strongest flavor but the other spices complement it. I really liked it and though it was past the best by date, it tasted fine.

Vanilla Freeze with almond butter & granola: icy but I like how it isn’t as sweet and tastes clean/less processed. So good with almond butter – like almond milk in frozen form.

I bought a juice on 5/28 and I noticed the best by date is 5/22. I’m surprised – that’s never happened to me before. I should have checked while I was at the shop.

There are frequent promotions. I definitely recommend the membership if you like their juices and live in the area. You can save quite a bit of money. Also, sign up for the rewards/points program to earn free treats. Parking is difficult in the area.

I like most of what I’ve tried at Pressed. Their cold-pressed juices are mostly tasty and a good value. They’re not organic and they use plastic bottles, but I’m not that picky about my juices as long as they taste good.

The selection varies a bit by store – some locations have Freeze, some do not. Sadly, the location in Larchmont Village is small (a few refrigerators and a counter) and they don’t have Freeze. They do have Frozen (their coconut milk based ice cream) which is very tasty. This location also does not offer acai bowls or overnight oats.

They have green juices, root juices, citrus juices, lemonade, almond milk, smoothies, shots, and Frozen. The ingredients are listed on the bottle. For Black History Month, they partnered with three female black artists to create limited edition labels and tote bags. The proceeds support community fridge programs.

Pressed just opened at Westfield Santa Anita in the former Popbar/Nubi Frozen Yogurt space. The new spot has a new name/logo, dropping the Juicery part of the name to reflect the expanded menu beyond juices. Pressed has Freeze (plant-based soft serve), smoothies, and acai bowls in addition to juices, nut milks, and shots.

Glowing Juices/Vegan Market, 1557 Echo Park Ave, Los Angeles (Echo Park), CA 90026

Glowing Juices is an organic juice/smoothie/elixir/tonics bar that also sells vegan grocery items. It’s not a full-size vegan market but they have snacks (sweet and savory), nuts, teas, coffee, cereal, ice cream, condiments, beans, beverages, plant-based milk, vegan cheese, pasta, dips, vegan meat, etc. You can also order their organic vegan food, including salads, smoothie bowls, oatmeal, sandwiches, wraps and burritos. Prices aren’t bad considering it’s Echo Park and vegan. Juices and smoothies are made to order.

Glowing juice ($9.50 for 20 oz): Fresh juice made with apple, cucumber, pineapple, kale chard, aloe vera and buckthorn. It was nice – sweet but not too sweet, a light but flavorful variety of greens. I’m not sure what they put on top (orange drops). Maybe it was buckthorn? I couldn’t taste much of it because they just added a few drops.

I’m not sure if they always had the market or if they added it because of COVID-19. Service was friendly.
