The Smokyokie Method is used to make The Beefiest Juiciest Brisket, which is the ultimate BBQ treat. This brisket has the right amount of spices and is slow-smoked until it is tender. It will make your taste buds want more.
Ingredients: 1 whole beef brisket 12-15 lbs. 1/4 cup kosher salt. 1/4 cup black pepper, coarsely ground. 1/4 cup paprika. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 2 tbsp garlic powder. 2 tbsp onion powder. 1 tbsp cayenne pepper. 1/2 cup beef broth. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. Wood chips hickory or mesquite, soaked in water.
Instructions: Preheat your smoker to 225F 107C using hickory or mesquite wood chips. Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving a thin layer for flavor. In a bowl, mix salt, black pepper, paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create the rub. Rub the spice mixture generously over the entire brisket, ensuring an even coating. Place the brisket on the smoker grates, fat side up, and smoke for 4 hours. Mix beef broth and apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle for basting. After 4 hours, begin spraying the brisket with the liquid every hour to keep it moist. Continue smoking until the internal temperature reaches 195-203F 90-95C, approximately 10-12 hours total cooking time. Once done, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite BBQ sauce.
