This recipe for beer can chicken cooked in the oven is a simple and tasty way to cook a whole chicken. While the meat is cooking, the beer adds moisture and a light flavor. This makes the chicken juicy and tender, with a crispy skin.
Ingredients: 1 whole chicken. 1 can of beer. Your favorite seasoning blend.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375F 190C. Open the beer can and take a few sips or pour out about 1/4 of the beer to prevent overflow. Season the chicken generously with your favorite seasoning blend, both inside and out. Place the beer can on a baking sheet and carefully lower the chicken onto the can, so it stands upright with the can inserted into the cavity. Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and roast for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165F 75C. Carefully remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
