Julian telling Miles that Keiko won't be happy with him turning her profession into a hobby in HoQ and then telling Miles exactly what Keiko needs to hear in HO (because, let's be real, Keiko saying Miles is subconsciously trying to push her out of their quarters is just her feeling homesick and projecting her fears when she really just wants to know that she's missed).

I tried loll...
1) They present a fun challenge in how they would come to be. In my fic for them it's like the slow burn journey of two hopped up polyamorous bisexuals and the seemingly monogamous heterosexual man between them.
2) They're the embodiment of an anxiety cheetah with two emotional support Labradors. They're two wolves shaking a rabbit between their teeth.
3) Keiko is so funny and hot and she deserves to be doted upon. Miles is a wife guy for a reason, any person he would be with would need to intimately understand that, and I think Julian would excel at this.
4) I've grown so soft for Julian co-parenting Molly and Yoshi. Those are his kids now, or more like that's their 'top of his class in pediatrics' bonus father now. Molly absolutely owns that man, I just know it.
5) I think the presence of a genuine connection between Julian and Keiko somehow makes the relationship between Julian and Miles softer and deeper, and keeps the relationship between Keiko and Miles solid while at the same time letting them be shaken up a bit.
