Sooo.. what's up with JF&PT?

Hey, it’s been awhile, so here’s the latest on what’s happening with the music... and yes, those are my songwriting journals, with real live lyrics ;p

These last 8 months were spent in hermit-style creative isolation.  During my self-imposed retreat from society I’ve turned down road trips, parties, concerts, drinks and dinners with friends etc..  And replaced them all with evenings and weekends spent scribbling pages of haphazard lyrics, humming potential melodies or tinkering with synthesizers (though there was skydiving on my birthday, which was cool).  

Late one night I looked back on my songwriting journal’s full pages.  I’d been working on for hours and realized there was only one good line!  To compensate for these long sessions were some lucid moments of inspiration where entire songs practically wrote themselves.  This felt like Euterpe, the song-muse, was in the room making hints and blowing kisses.  

Anyhow, I suspect this catchup is already too long, so here’s what is what. We’ve finished tracking most of the album in the real studio (as opposed to the home studio), there’s a handful of parts left to tidy up and voilà, that’s it!  Stay tuned, more soon.

Our friends, Julien Funk & The Painted Thief will be performing this Saturday at Tammany Hall in the Lower East Side for a special Halloween show!  I hear he will be dressed as Ziggy Stardust...Ok, I totally made that up.  

However, I will be dressed up as Lindsay Lohan and you won't want to miss it. Come have drinks, dance, and get all-out silly with us!  (It's against my personal beliefs to use phrases such as "spooktacular" and "scary good time"  but know that those phrases will apply)

This was quickly recorded some time ago in a small home-studio apartment.  Just one of those songs that will probably never see the light of day, except on this blog - it's live, it's rainy - hope you enjoy the New York 'feel'.
