July 14th writing

I managed to transcribe 900 words of my novel. Not as much as I’d hoped but it’s better than none. I was doing less editing this time around, which is good.

After dinner I decided it was arts and crafts time so I collaged my favorite quote from Bernard Pomerance’s play, The Elephant Man, onto the back of a blank notebook. I will be encasing it in packing tape before I actually start writing in it. Naturally, I got so engrossed in playtime - I accidentally stayed up past 2AM. I am happy with the results though.

July 16th Writing

I managed to transcribe 1,000 words today. I feel like I should do more but my mind is wandering.

The second draft/transcribing is slooow. I might have to force myself into some kind of schedule (the horror). The first draft took 9 months, if the second takes that long - There will be violence, enacted by ME. Upon who or what I don’t know, yet.

It is weird to see the old names I had in mind for the characters.

I’m going to run an errand, maybe a second wind will magically inspire me to write more later.
