He’s a sweetheart when he’s in love. Always thinking or worrying about Kiran like one of those helicopter parents lmao. Rambling thoughts of you coursing through his mind all the time, things that can range from, I wonder how her day is going?? to random shit like, ...I wonder what kind of hair style she likes best on guys.. hopefully pony tails...
Though this is bad sometimes because his thoughts have a habit of being very increasingly paranoid at times. It’s in those moments that he can’t get himself to function, the mental illness carrying him away too far into the deep end. But it’s always you’re comforting words, that soothing voice of yours in his ear, that manages to bring him back down to reality. And suddenly he is breathing again.
He never forgets to tell Kiran how much he appreciates her. Even if he has to heave it up from his gut, because sometimes being romantic is a little hard; he just really wants you to know you’re loved.
“Thank you so much, Kiran... Thank you for being here. I really mean it, okay?” Kiran thinks he says these things in the cutest ways possible.
(it makes it even more endearing because she knows that he only ever says mushy things like that when you’re alone together. He can’t ever bring himself to be soft in front of others.)
When out and about on or off the battlefield, Takumi is still loving, but in a more calm, confident manner (a steady arm around your waist, an affectionate pat on the back, a little peck on the cheek, etc...)
You come to realize he has two different faces. The cocky, self-assured one he shows to others, and the tender and unsure one only you ever see. It’s a warm thought, but really, it’s a little heartbreaking because it just shows how hard he’s trying to be strong.
Takumi’s favorite way of doting on Kiran is by little, affectionate pats on the head. Like, just a little shake that musses up your hair. And he’ll smile a little when he gets a little yelp, effectively catching you off guard.
He really does like patting your head. You’re about to leave with your campaign squad, he pats your head. “Be safe, Kiran.” You’re about to get something to eat in the dining hall with Leo, a pat on the head.
“Alright. But remember even if Leo is a little charming, I’m still your boyfriend here.” He says, teasing.
Sometimes Kiran is so overwhelmed with the urge to touch him that when she sees him, she breaks out into a run and launches herself into his arms. He just laughs and spins her around in the air playfully. “You missed me that much, huh?”
He has a really soft laugh, a raspy tenor, but feathery and youthful. His laugh is one of the most precious things to you, something that inspires you in battle. With the simple thought, I must protect this man. It’s funny though, that it’s also the little things like this that keep his head on straight as well, in a war torn country like this.
The way you sometimes have a light skip in your step when you’re happy. The memory of your face lit up when you’re excited.

When you are separated, you write letters to each other. It’s just to hold that conversation, the small talk and interesting little things, the unexpected deep philosophic inquiries.
When you share a bed with him, it always helps keep his bad dreams away (like a dreamcatcher). And in the odd nights that they do manage to grasp him, Kiran will hold his hands tightly, silently willing them away, until the shudders finally leave his body.
And Leo is often with you two, as he is Takumi’s best friend. Naturally, he has become quite close to you as well. And you take pleasure in listening to their trivial banter, the two are always poking at each other over the petty things.
Takumi likes to braid Kiran’s hair every morning he gets the chance. He has learned plenty of things about taking care of one’s hair all his life and he’s quite skilled with handling the mop on your head. He happily does it, saying that he likes this spending this time with you to relax.
You often have study dates where he helps you with your battle plans and tactical approaches. And it’s always nice because he of course is pretty versed in the material himself. Sometimes Leo tags along as the third wheel.
You hurt them, yes. But that doesn't mean you can't be forgiven, my love. You're beautiful and you should stop taking all the blame, that's not necessary. Everyone agrees that the things that happened weren't your fault. It's okay. Don't cry. -Jumin
