getting artsy with my beloved Passier saddle
Look what just arrived today... we have this demo saddle for a week to try out! Getting a jumping lesson with it tomorrow so the assistant trainer can check the fit and see how Savannah moves in it. It’s been so long since I used a jumping saddle, the whole thing just looks weird to me and I’m having trouble telling if it fits haha! It seems pretty close? If I can get a fitter on short notice I may have them take a look and confirm that this is the right size. And if all goes well and we both like it I’ll be be ordering her one of her very own!
PINCH ME
We have matching stirrup leathers kiddos!
Can You Jump In A Dressage Saddle? Dressage vs Jumping Saddles.
Should be fine if you don’t do it regularly.
A dressage saddle will not offer as much freedom of movement though.
Likewise, a jumping saddle will not help you maintain proper balance while doing dressage.
Close contact saddle isn’t very close contact if you have tons of half pads under it!

Ok this is a bad pic cuz I couldn’t be bothered to clean this saddle, but would anyone be interested in purchasing it? It’s a 16 in close contact Beval BUT it needs to be reflocked. It currently has “flair” air panels, which can be adjusted using a hand held bike pump. Unfortunately I can’t get the panels to stay full of air. I’ve tried to fix it but the rubber is old and deteriorated. I figured I could let this go for cheap and some else can get it flocked! Maybe a saddle maker would like a resale project? I can have it shipped within the states.
First ride, and I think the saddle definitely settled into a much better position once it was girthed up and had weight on it. The trainer and I are still concerned that it’s sitting a bit too high off of her in general, more than can be fixed just by pulling out flock, so I’m asking the manufacturer if it is possible to get this model with flatter close contact panels. Glad I went with the 17.5 seat instead of the 18 I usually use though, it’s right at her last rib with no room to spare. Why is her back so short?? 😂
I've been considering for a while now that Nick should wear a pink saddle cloth to match his funky stirrups
