The lack of conditioning and muscle awareness makes it difficult for athletes to execute. You know what I mean the athlete whose pike faces downward, has a huge gap between their arms and legs, and whose feet barely make it off the ground. ⠀ ⠀ Lets focus on changing that. To help improve your athlete's pike work on lower abs. A great deal of the execution of pike jumps is done in the lower abs. If you want to improve your athlete's pike jump focus on their lower abs and back muscles. ⠀ ⠀ Not sure where to start?⠀ Drill No. 1 - Hollow body holds, proper form allows focus on the rotation of the hips.⠀ Drill No. 2 - Superman, strengthens the lower back.
