Thank you so much anon! 💞💖🥰 I have been spending the past few weeks trying to figure out how to respond to this without dropping the full 5k+ overview document I wound up writing while trying to write a response 😆

I'll put the art here again for context then get on to the AU:

I'll heavily truncate the overall premise + omit the stories of others since that was the part that produced all the words, but focus on Eikichi during the time period that artwork takes place in (2016, I made it as concept art for a P2:IS/P4 fan game I'm working on that takes place during the same time P5 is taking place elsewhere).

Deapite my best efforts, it's still quite long though, just not THAT long lol.

Major Innocent Sin spoilers, of course (no Eternal Punishment spoilers though)

Basically, by this point in time, he's been living with Miyabi in an apartment above a vintage/DIY clothing and record shop called RADamanthus. This, of course, belongs to them. It absolutely bleeds money but it's a hobby and passion project among them. Miyabi's other job, as a documentarian and investigative journalist, is their primary source of income.

Due to this AU being predicated on the fact that, due to Philemon's split second intervention, the Oracle of Maya was not completed, Nyarlathotep is weakened (or was, he isn't by 2016 which is when he starts getting up to more notable shenanigans again) but at large, and all of Sumaru that was not spared (though present at the final fight and whoever was foremost on their subconscious mind in the moment of telportation) and is still trapped on Xilbalba, it's been difficult for everyone.

There was so much hope and determination (well, amongst most of them) at first. They had beat impossible odds time and again those past few weeks, so surely they would triumph again sometime soon. But days turned to months and months to years. All this while struggling by as multiple high schoolers with no guardians or paperwork, multiple adults who lost their income, and while dealing with the paranoia and survivors guilt. Still, they devoted themselves to monitoring and studying supernatural incidents to watch for signs of Nyarlathotep's return. Useful that they have multiple investigators and journalists among them (Maya, Yukino, Katsuya, Miyabi, and later Tatsuya)

At least outwardly, Eikichi seemed to take this the best of anyone. That is, modeling himself after Maya (who distanced herself from the others quite early on, fearing her presence endangered them and the world), he chose to smile through it. He does his intel gathering by chatting with the clientele, or at least this is what he tells himself. It pains him at times to feel as though he isn't doing enough or cannot meet the same standards he feels are set by those around him. He could not be more proud of Miyabi for her appearances as film festivals and her success both in her professional career and the research more pertinent to their goals, but he thinks often about how, even though only subconsciously, he ripped her away from her family and dragged her into this mess of theirs then proceeded to not pull his weight (in his opinion). All this while dealing with the idea that he may have inadvertently doomed his mother.

This is made all the worse because, as fast as they can assume, the desperate and despairing people of Sumaru succumbing to the feeling that they have been forgotten by the world made that so. Only this group remembers was even a city or what happened to it. Their chances or saving anyone became slimmer all alone and, by 2016, were none.

Anyway, all this is to say he is carrying a lot of guilt and pain that he masks by carrying on with his daily life and offering a shoulder to the others even while his own burden is still weighing him down. He spends a substantial amount of time doing fashion DIY and chatting with the locals because if he stops doing anything that immerses him in the current city and the present moment he's wont to get lost in the past.

Though I won't go into it, his story mirrors Jun's current trajectory in this AU, though they veer off in different directions.

But! That is not to say he's constantly miserable. He does care deeply for those around him, strangers and friends alike. If anything, the events of the past have caused him to appreciate small interactions, day to day mundanity, and the people he cherishes most. Circumstances have also mellowed him out quite a bit. He's still him, all bluster and bravado when he feels like it, but he's definitely matured and has become a rather reliable person. This is further evidenced by his relentless measures to pull Lisa (who had taken this the worst of anyone, though I won't get into that hear) out of her own self-destruction with a relatively decent success rate. Though they still tease and bicker like crazy, he has become the sort of person she and others can open up to and count on to have their backs unconditionally.

And to wrap it up with some lighter stuff, even though he has his guilty about it, he has taken the approach of not squandering his second chance at life, especially knowing it could end at any moment. He enjoys clubbing and dressing up others. He only does music for fun with his friends now which has removed all the pressure from it. He still struggles with eating at times but has gotten significantly less restrictive with what he eats and had become a bit of a foodie, always trying our local places and trying his hand at cooking. He has become much more unapologetically himself, regardless of its it's vulnerable or embarrassing or unpalatable to others. When he talks highly of himself now, it doesn't quite have the same arrogant tone he once put on (unless he's deflecting from trauma, trying to lighten the mood, or intentionally trying to get under someone's skin) because it comes from a place of genuine confidence instead of insecurity or spite for his former self now, bolstered by his friends and his change in outlook.

Also, during the events of the P2/P4 fan game (which I won't go into the details of in case I release it), he becomes a remote party contact due to his connection to Rise who has worn several garments commissioned from him and considers him a friend.

I just read the post you talked about a Sera dlc and an Al dlc. What would they be about? I'm guessing Sera would remain alive in her dlc lol.. but what about Al's?

Kind of. Simply put it'll be the same story but told from their respective POVs

Both dlc will take place a bit earlier than the current timeline of the game. You'll be given more context about the story as a whole + Sera's relationship with the MC, up until her death, then maybe some POV from Ethan as well. .. Sera died pretty early on but she has so much to tell... and for Al, he can't speak properly. So these will help tie the story together ( at least I hope loll

And so did everyone else, but that's the problem. Nothing has been done to address the content disparity between him and other characters, which is what we are referring to when we say 'he got no new content'. We mean that nothing has been done to bring him up to the same level of content as other characters. He is the only character without a single romance greeting even 6 patches later. He is the only character who, in the epilogue, you can neither give a hug or kiss to (which negates the "they ran out of time" argument for why he has less content, though let's be real, that was already negated by them not fixing any of the issues after endlessly tweaking and adding new lines to Astarion and NPCs for 6 patches). He is the only character with 2 romance scenes instead of 3+ like everyone else has. He is the only character without a sex scene (or at least an equivalent non-sexual romance scene to fill that gap). He is the only character to not be able to make his own choice in the climax of his story. He has the least reactivity of of the main origin companions, both as a companion and as an Origin. Larian has continued to add brand new things (outside of the things everyone gets such as kisses and epilogues, the latter of which they dropped the ball on with him for the aforementioned reason) on to other main origin characters who already have a wealth of content or on to NPCs, yet they have thus far neglected to fill in the gaps in his story, romance, and overall integration into the world. He also remains riddled with bugs, many of which never get addressed. If you'd like to learn more about it, you can check this post which thoroughly breaks down the Wyll content disparity that Larian has still not addressed even 6 patches and 17 hotfixes later. You may also Ctrf+F his name on previous patch notes to see how little they have updated and addressed for him in regards to the mentioned problems.

The prompt was "An absent look or touch" (Link to the list here) It got a little off the rails with regards to the prompt, but I was thinking of Lisa's friends and her self-reflections before confronting her shadow💗 Note: This fic implies that her romantic feelings for Tatsuya are disliked/unrequited. I hope you will like it! 😊

A girl knows when she's unwanted. She possessed two eyes, two ears, and a brain between them all. So of course Lisa knew. Her Chinyan smiled for very few, but least of all for her. She knew that well enough. Dead stares bored straight through her skull and out the other side, allowing all her good sense and dignity to leak out. Because it was just easier that way, wasn't it? After all, annoyance, too, was a form of engagement. Whether he reacted or he didn't, she knew that, for the briefest of moments, she must have been on his mind and surely taking solid form there. 'That girl that loves me', 'that girl who gets on my nerves', 'I can't stand her', 'why won't she leave me alone?' For so long now she'd been chasing that sliver of perception from Tatsuya, someone so above herself. So she took whatever she could get and relished in knowing that at least his distaste for her was her own doing and not another thing outside of her own control. And she put on a damn good show of it, made all the easier when her co-star was short on words and possessed an iron tolerance. Maybe she even fooled herself, at times. But what did it matter? They'd all see that she was more than blue eyes now, more than the taunts and stares a little girl shouldn't have had to endure. At last she was fulfilled. Obviously. Of course she was. No doubt or question about it. She'd finally made it. Or so she told herself, until she really felt it. It lived in the easy chatter and bump of shoulders as she walked with her little group. It was in those rounds of "are you alright" pats after fights and glances back to check that she was still following. It was bickering, and bawling, and common goals amidst their conflicts.  It was "I remember yous" and "like we used tos". All those "Sorrys", and "thank yous", and comfortable silences between the lot of them. Every fight for their lives and every shared failure. It, she found, was four determined faces, eight kind hands, that had been with her all along, holding together a heart she thought was beyond repair. In all her attempts to dig a hole into Tatsuya's mind to make room for herself, she now found she'd only been tossing dirt back into the space he'd already made for her, his friend, ten years before. Were she to put down that shovel and turn around, she'd have found the very same in all the others who once played beside her. Everything else felt so shallow now in the face of these few friends of hers who loved her with a weight that rivaled the whole world's attention she'd once longed for. But it was clearer now than ever as she stared down her other self, twisted by the selfish desires of a sad little girl who knew not what she was after or what she already had. Lisa does know when she's wanted, when she's loved. She possessed two eyes, two ears, and a brain between them all. So of course she knew now. How stupid to have blinded herself for so long. She'd already been etched into every heart and mind that mattered.

#unfortunately all of that was tossed out in favor of a 'actually templars are oppressed too guys :(' plot in DAI so :/ <<< i hate this so much cause actually it could had been done well but its like. well who is oppressing the templars?? uhm?? who is making them take lyrium and teaching mage's babies to be templars since they are children? and everyone is like "hahah idk but we need to restore the chantry's power"

LITERALLY!!! You are so so correct!

I would not have minded (and actually would have enjoyed!) focusing on the plight of templars as well if a.) They didn't try to paint mages as being equally as bad in the process and b.) They did exactly what you said and tied it all back to the people up top who are responsible for many of the worst atrocities plaguing Thedas: The Chantry.

Unfortunately that remains one of my least favorite plot points in all of dragon age because of the complete 180 they did between 2 and Inquisition. This is not a "both sides" issue between the templars and the mages. Sure, one group is being kept controlled rationed drug addiction and brain washing since childhood (terrible!) but the other is literally being forcefully ripped from their parents and forced into a prison tower where they are constantly abused in every manner, made tranquil, have no privacy or free will, and can be completely eradicated at the whims of the Chantry. These are not at all the same.

PLUS They act like this is a Kirkwall specific issue. It's not! I've seen the Harrowing, I've seen the dungeons of Kinloch Hold, I've seen how willing they were to lock all the mages in with demons to save themselves, I've heard Anders talk about being locked in solitary confinement (which in our real world is considered a method of torture) and woken up by being beaten in the head, I've hears him say how mages would jump to their deaths to escape the tower. I've also seen the templars giddily hunt him (and break orders to do so) like he's an animal.

Do not send me back to Ferelden and try to pull this "actually the rebel mages that look suspiciously like Anders are bad and dangerous but the poor little templars :("

And don't even get me started on how the tranquil and their plight are relegated to like 2 conversations and not treated as much a big deal.

But yeah, we should build up this chantry organization regardless of race or whether or not you're a mage (and can I just say making you a noble mage who had a cushy time in the circle is bullshit? Lol).
