The Boys Meet Your Newborn For The First Time ~ Kim Minjun
Your smile softened as Minjun walked out from the nursery, your baby daughter held tightly in his arms. She was fast asleep as he walked through, with the two of you both knowing that the peace wasn’t going to last for long.
“I told her to make the most of it,” Minjun joked, knowing exactly what it was that you were thinking as your eyes followed them both across to the sofa, taking a seat down beside you.
Your head nodded as you peered across to take a look at her too, her eyes screwed tightly shut. “She’s about to be obsessed over,” you told Minjun, knowing just how excited the boys were to stop by and how thrilled they were to have a baby to dote over too.
Throughout your pregnancy they had been almost glued to your side anyway, but now that your daughter had arrived, they pestered constantly. None of them could wait to meet her, asking you every single day until at last you agreed to have them over.
Before you even had the chance to tell the boys all the details that you had for when they could come over, they agreed. They were desperate for the chance to say the least, with Taecyeon even adjusting his schedule too.
“You won’t have heard noise quite like this Y/D/N,” Minjun told her. “Your uncles can be very noisy when they want to be.”
“Your daddy is trying to pretend as if he’s not as loud as your uncles too though.”
Before Minjun could argue back at you, the buzzer to your apartment rang through. Your smile turned up as Minjun was left with an open mouth, unable to say anything as you stood up.
You carefully walked through to the front door, slowly opening the door to see five bright smiles staring back at you. As soon as there was enough room with the open door for the boys to walk through, they were pushing to try and get in first.
Their pushing and shoving soon stopped though once they walked through into your living, halting as soon as they saw Minjun sat with your daughter. “Look at the two of you,” Wooyoung gasped, the first to take a few small steps forward.
“Who knew Minjun would pull off the dad aesthetic,” Junho teased as he walked forwards too, hovering over Minjun.
Minjun shot a glare across at Junho as he came closer, “that’s you bottom of the list for who gets to cuddle her.”
“I didn’t mean it, don’t let me be last,” Junho frowned across at him.
“I think she’s beautiful,” Nichkhun chimed, trying to take the top spot.
Minjun’s smile turned up, seeing straight through Nichkhun’s tactic too. “I already promised Chansung that he could have the first cuddle.”
The other boys all gasped as Chansung walked through them all, his arms extended out and ready to take your daughter. Minjun carefully rose to his feet, placing your daughter down cautiously into Chansung’s hold.
“I drove them to the hospital when Y/N went to labour,” Chansung explained to the rest of the group, “but only on the promise that I’d get first cuddles.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Taecyeon groaned, “how come none of us got that choice?”
Minjun shrugged in reply to him, “we didn’t need five people to drive us to the hospital, and Chansung was just in the right place at the right time.”
“I would’ve driven you,” Wooyoung groaned as you made your way into the kitchen to start organising drinks for everyone. With Chansung smugly sat on the sofa in the living room, the others joined him, still pouting and complaining.
“Do you need a hand?” A voice asked you as you opened up one of the kitchen cupboards, reaching up and grabbing seven glasses onto the countertop.
Your smile widened as you looked to your left to see Nichkhun walking towards you, grabbing the last couple of glasses for you. “It still hurts to do a lot,” you sighed, letting him know just how hard of a time you were having, thankful for the help.
Nichkhun nodded understandingly as he started to take control of things for you in the kitchen, knowing that he’d get his turn to hold your daughter eventually. Instead he wanted to check on you, make sure that you were doing alright.
You were more than happy to stand back and let Nichkhun help you too. “Thank you,” you told him once he had everything sorted for you and the boys.
“There’s no need to say that,” he smiled back across at you, playing the filled glasses onto a tray to carry through. “I can’t begin to imagine what your body has been through this past week, you probably need the respite.”
Your head nodded as you followed behind Nichkhun back into the living room. “Minjun’s been amazing, but I can’t help but feel like I rely on him too much,” you admitted, keeping your voice quiet so that none of the others could hear you.
“It takes time, you shouldn’t rush something as huge as giving birth,” Nichkhun reminded you, keeping his eyes on you as you walked. “You know that if you ever need help and Minjun is busy, I’m only a phone call away from you.”
As soon as the two of you walked back into the room, groans came from the boys again as they saw through Nichkhun. None of them thought he was helping, instead they guessed that he was being nice to be next after Chansung.
You didn’t mind at all though as you took a seat beside Minjun on the sofa. “How does it feel to have five babysitters around for a little while?” You asked him with a chuckle.
“It’s nice to relax for a little while,” he smiled at you.
A hum of agreement came from you as you relaxed back against the sofa, “I could get used to this,” you laughed, watching as Chansung continued to dote over your daughter whilst the rest of the boys all made room for the drinks that Nichkhun brought.
It was exactly how you hoped that things would be, the boys were more than happy to do anything for you, all keen to get the chance to hold your daughter. For once too, you and Minjun were able to take a breather for a little while, after a week of full on baby watching, and sometimes panicking, now you had the boys to help you out.
“I think we should move in you know,” Taecyeon told you both as he continued to watch Chansung, noticing Nichkhun edging closer and closer. “Think of all the help you guys would have if we were here constantly.”
“There is no way that I’m going back to those days,” Minjun sniggered.
“The dorm wasn’t even that bad,” Junho told him, pushing gently against Minjun’s leg. “Plus we’ve grown up since then, I mean we’ve got husbands, dads, successful actors and idols, I think it would be a good idea.”
Minjun’s head continued to shake across at Junho, “as soon as Y/D/N’s bath time arrives, I’m kicking you guys out.”
“You’re so cruel,” Wooyoung frowned, turning his attention to you as he joined Junho’s side. “Y/N, you wouldn’t want to get rid of us, would you? We can all be as helpful as Nichkhun whilst you recover as you need us to be.”
“An hour with you guys is enough,” you teased, “but you know that in the day you’re always welcome to stop by whenever you want to.”
Minjun’s eyes widened as you spoke, “always?” He asked you, unsure if you’d realised what you had said.
“Y/N said always,” Junho cheered, “prepare to be disturbed you guys.”
“Maybe I shouldn’t have said always.”
