Hyuna and Junhyung...
Now, when we speak about "dating scandals" in the realms of k-pop, it's usually tongue in cheek and not a real scandal. In this case, it might actually be scandalous for real. Former Cube employees Hyuna and Junhyung have confirmed to be dating. Not the first public relationship for either, but why is this one gathering so much backlash? For that, we have to go back to the year 2019...
Seungri and his shady friends owned a club called "Burning Sun" where all kinds of illegal things were happening (including drug use, human trafficking, rape, etc.). He and others involved were prosecuted on charges, including prostitution mediation, sharing illegally filmed content (molka), and embezzlement. Junhyung was amongst those friends involved, he admitted to watching illegal videos (molka) sent to him by Jung Joon Young (who went to prison for his crimes like Seungri). He left his group Beast/Highlight and only recently made his return to the entertainment industry.
Fast forward, Hyuna (who's made a name for herself as a feminist) is now dating this POS and wants her fans to "Please view us prettily." Of course many fans are disappointed and don't understand why she would date someone who allegedly mistreated ex-girlfriends and watched molka for fun. It doesn't align with her values nor with her message of female empowerment. She also shared how much she was sexualized and disrespected by the entertainment industry (true), so to throw those values away and date a guy like him... is weird to say the least. I don't know if they're a real couple or if this is PR for upcoming music, either way, I don't give a s#t. Good luck you two!
