junhan is probably the type of boyfriend/love interest who:
- will ask you on discord movie or anime dates late at night when he’s done with practice and couldn’t sleep but is too tired to travel, and/or when he’s at tour
- LEGO ACTIVITIES. i’ve read from somewhere that he likes assembling models (idk how to explain it but when i read it i aGREED cause he just looks like that kind of person)
- mostly when he knows you need a break. he’s not that great with words so it’d be his own little way of keeping your mind away from what’s stressing you out.
- if you like baking, he’ll probably ask you to teach him ;;; he’s a really attentive guy so learning will be easy for him. after that, he’ll always have a cookie in his pocket to give to you when you two are out and about
- he’ll share his hair ties with you anytime anywhere 💯. if you let him, he’ll do your ponytail, too
- will also let you corrupt his punk-goth-emo aesthetic by letting you put those cute little and noisy keychains on his bag ++ will let you design/paint his nails (only if you let him do yours, too ;P)
- will also be your go-to stylist for whenever you don’t have the energy or doesn’t feel like dressing up
- since he’s not big on gatherings either, if he notices that your social battery is down he’ll pull the two of you out immediately for the sake of the both of you
- the type of boyfriend who stares at you with those two lil shy and googly eyes. as an introvert, when he stares, HE STARES. and you don’t even notice it most of the time, but other people DO
- aLSO, contrary to popular belief, i don’t think he’d be that shy or too much of a sub when he’s with someone he truly trust?? almost every fic i’ve read of him already established him as a puppy but gUYS, you know how they say it’s always the quiet ones 😉🙂↕️ (no but also bcs as someone on the introverted side, being comfy w/ people really just takes a lot of time but that doesn’t necessarily mean we cannot get accustomed to certain things 😭😭)
- will subtly kiss the back of your hand when nobody (NOBODY) is looking #alexaplayshyboybysecret

You were strolling through a casual side quest on your favorite game, the world blocked out by your headphones. Your eyelids started to get heavier right before you felt a light touch on your shoulder. You paused the game, allowing your boyfriend to remove your headphones and wrap his arms around your shoulders.
“Done with the game soon, love?” Hyeongjun asked, his breath and long strands of hair tickling your neck. He placed a kiss right at the neckline of your shirt before you nodded.
“Was about to call it a night”, you replied, leaning into Hyeongjun a little.
“I put the kettle on”, Hyeongjun said, kissed your cheek and pulled away.
You shut down your devices and followed him to the kitchen.
“This one okay?” Hyeongjun called out, holding two mugs and a pack of tea you had stocked up on just yesterday.
“Perfect”, you replied, making your way around the space to find honey and oat milk.
Soon enough, you sat on the living room couch, holding a mug of tea in one hand and Hyeongjun’s delicate fingers in the other. Every now and then, you had to let go to stir your drink, and Hyeongjun would use the opportunity to do the same.
With a few sips left in your mug, you reached out to Hyeongjun and pushed a few strands of hair behind his ear. He turned his eyes from the series neither of you were paying attention on to you. His gaze was weighted with sleepiness, and you cupped his cheek gently.
“Tired?” you asked.
Hyeongjun gulped down the last of his drink before giving you a small nod and leaning back into your touch.
“Let’s get you to bed”, you said, took his mug from him and got up to bring it to the sink.
You both were silent while you got changed, washed your faces and brushed your teeth. Afterwards, you met in the bedroom, crawled under the covers and snuggled up in each other’s arms. You rested your head on Hyeongjun’s shoulder, able to hear his heartbeat and the slow pace of his breaths.
“Any plans for tomorrow, bunny?” you whispered into the fabric of Hyeongjun’s t-shirt.
“Stay like this all morning and get up at noon?” Hyeongjun mumbled against your hair. You tilted your head to kiss him before wishing him sweet dreams and allowing his steady heartbeat lead you to the next morning.

You believe guitars are made just for Han Hyeongjun and Han Hyeongjun only, because as you sit on his bed, with his beloved guitar in your hands, trying to strum along to some chords he had taught you just a few minutes ago, you want to scream in frustration.
How the fuck was your boyfriend so good at playing the guitar? How long has he been playing?? Why are the strings so incredibly sharp and how does Hyeongjun not get any bruises from practising so much?!
Hyeongjun himself can’t help but laugh when you heave a heavy sigh, scooting closer to you to grab at your wrist. “You okay?”
You slump, leaning towards him, shutting your eyes when he starts to prod and massage at your sore fingers. “I hate guitars.”
Hyeongjun chuckles, blowing lightly at your hands. “I’m sure you do.” You feel the calluses on his fingertips, and wonder just how long he's had his fingers bruised to get it like that.
“How are you so good at such an instrument? Just how much talent do you hold?”
Unbeknownst to you, Hyeongjun finds such comfort and pride in your words, biting back a proud grin. He’s been playing the guitar for almost all his life, picking it up as a child. Days of doubting himself, weeks of intense practising because he thinks he’s not as good as others, years of thinking he should probably give up, almost dissipating at your words.
“None,” He mutters truthfully. “I just practice a lot.”
“I don’t believe that,” you reply, picking his guitar yet once again. This is a little habit of yours, Hyeongjun notices. As much as you absolutely despise and struggle at a certain thing, you keep trying again and again to find at least a little bit of progress. He finds it cute.
Though, he does have to stop and comfort you at times when you go too far.
With a determined look on your face, with motivation you have from absolutely nothing, you place your fangers back on the guitar, and find them pressing against the strings into an E chord, just as your boyfriend had taught you.
However, once you strum, you groan at the false notes it emits, throwing your arms in the air. Hyeongjun bursts out in laughter, the small grumpy frown on your lips causing him more happiness than he would have ever thought.
Despite your frustration, and hate for the guitar, you can’t help but feel proud that you were the cause of Hyeongjun’s laughter. There’s something about it that tugs on your heartstrings.
“You’re supposed to put your middle finger on the second fret of the second string,”
“Sorry, guitar genius.”
Instead of trying again, you pass the guitar to him, and let him have a go to play. You always found his guitar playing so very pleasant. He’s just too good for you to pass the offer to listen. Instantly, a smile curls his lips up, as he naturally finds his flow on the guitar, playing chords you could never even learn playing.
As he happily plays his guitar, you can’t help but feel so very proud of Hyeongjun and how far he’s come. You’re so glad you met him, you’re so glad you get to spend time with him and make him happy, it’s truly all you’ve ever wanted to do.
As he makes a small mistake, and winces embarrassingly at it, you can’t help but laugh, and lean forward to plant a soft kiss on his cheek. You can’t help but think you absolutely love him with all your heart when he shyly crashes into his pillows with flustered moises.
catching you looking at his photos — han hyeongjun
fluff
—
“why are you looking at my photos?”
you flinched at the sudden voice, almost falling over from the kitchen stool you were sitting on. turning your head to face the person you hadn’t realized was there, you found yourself face-to-face with a slightly flustered but still composed hyeongjun, whose eyes remained fixed on the screen.
playing it cool, you slowly turned your phone off and flipped it over.
“just because.”
“you can’t just say ‘just because,’” he pushed, standing up straighter. feeling bashful, the slender man behind you uneasily licked his lips and combed back the hair covering over his face. you giggled silently at the beguiling sight.
“i just did.” it was an answer you thought would end the topic, until your boyfriend murmured something again.
“those were fan photos of me.” he pressed once more, as if teasing you could hide the fact that your actions had thrown him off balance, too. he doesn’t do this often, hyeongjun thought to himself. don’t get the boy wrong; having the opportunity to tease you comes a lot, actually. it’s just his timing that doesn’t. which is why more often than not, he chooses to be sly in silence. now is not one of those times.
you felt warmth creeping up to your face again. it had already been there before he came in, courtesy of the photos, but being confronted like this left you blank for a moment. it wasn’t your first time doing this though, no. with that face? please. you had a pinterest board full of his fan photos, though this was the first time you’d been caught.
it wasn’t really a big deal. so, with that thought in mind, you answered honestly.
“you look hot.”
first shot.
“i mean, i’m sorry for being your biggest fan, but it’s impossible not to look at them. have you seen you?”
second shot. one more, and hyeongjun thinks he might pass out. how the turntables, to take a quote from the office. now, his face was starting to redden. you vivaciously turned to face him fully.
“especially when you’re playing your guitar! it makes me feel things i haven’t fel—”
“ok! oh my god, stop. please.” laughing, your boyfriend hid his face in his hands. “i didn’t know you liked me this much,” he said, half-teasingly and half-full of warmth—an expression he usually have when you do something that makes him feel valued. to be loved is to be seen—something you took very literally, and thinking just that, he flopped his head down again to try to hide the pink that resurfaced. you make him feel too precious.
every once in a while, he doesn’t know if he truly deserves that, but he couldn’t deny as well that whenever he felt unsure of himself, it was always you and your comforting words that lifted him back up. sometimes, he just wished he had the ability to tell you all of that easily.
“now, i regret teasing you. i’ve learned my lesson,” he said meekly, his face still flushed. he combed his hair back once again in an attempt to calm down.
finally, to end this madness (as you were still feeling fairly shy yourself), you decided to just play along and shrugged playfully. “well, you know what they say; be sure to taste your words before you spit them out.”
he laughed softly, the tension fading, and reached over to give your cheek an affectionate squeeze.
it was stupid. both of you knew it was stupid, but the two of you also knew nobody would ever attempt to stop you. stupidly weird things like this were simply just your thing. everybody knew that.
hyeongjun had just come back from tour, and you from a family trip. it was an intrusive idea that both of you decided to do anyway—buy different brands of beer from wherever place you two got back from and taste test all of them. it was all his idea, but you weren’t gonna say no, so, really, who cares? gunil.
now, here’s the two of you, drunkenly half-laughing, half-trying to keep the vomit from coming out of your mouths, in your apartment, at exactly 2am. the apartment’s a mess. some throw pillows in the kitchen, a bean bag on the coffee table, the tv playing lovable by kim jongkook, and, for reasons unknown, a printed photo of jooyeon’s face on the wall.
you stopped laughing and immediately sat down as soon as you felt the need to hurl again. hyeongjun, while extremely concerned, is still laughing. with claps and pointy fingers and all that. you did that to him earlier, too, so that’s what you get.
“hanging in there?”
“yes.”
is what you were going to say if you didn’t just gallop your way into the bathroom to barf. the laughing stops, and for a moment, you thought it was just hyeongjun being considerate—until you heard a loud thud. you exit the bathroom after you’re done fixing yourself, only to find your boyfriend lying dead drunk in the middle of your living room. with no spare energy, you quietly walked and lay down next to him, staring at the ceiling for a good five minutes before he was crawling his way over to rest his head on your stomach.
“did you have fun?” he asked quietly.
you hummed and played with his hair. “honestly wouldn’t ask for anything better. i’d do this again, even with the puking part.”
you heard him laugh. “i’m glad. i enjoyed it, too.” though almost soundless, he felt you reply with a hum again. not too long after, he continued. “we should probably clean your place up.”
“wha—? that’s what you’re worried about? i thought you’d be more concerned about the beers we have left.” you pointed to the three unopened beers and chicken leftovers on the floor. “i know i am, i mean, not to sound alcoholic.”
he laughed again, his head shaking on your stomach. “well, i am, too! but i thought you were already drunk.”
“no i’m not. i’m just resting. all the puking got me hungry again,” you said with a hint of defensiveness. “you’re the one i’m worried about. are you sure you don’t have to come to practice tomorrow?”
you felt him shake his head. “it’s rest day.”
then it got quiet. another five minutes was spent staring at the ceiling until you got bored and took a peek at your boyfriend’s face. his eyes are closed, but if it weren’t for the small smile on his lips, you would’ve assumed he fell asleep already.
“what are you thinking? don’t think too deeply. that’s the kind of thing old people do when they’re already drunk. we’re obviously not.” the last statement you said so flatly.
“i was just thinking about how you’re my dream girl.” he said it so casually. too casual, actually, as if he was embarrassed to say it. it didn’t help that he got up too quickly after that and went to the beers. you remained lying down, trying to process what you just heard. it was one of the rare moments where you didn’t know how to play it cool. hyeongjun rarely conveyed his feelings this directly, and now you were torn between reciprocating the thought or changing the topic so he wouldn’t keep feeling embarrassed.
thankfully, you didn’t have to decide.
“you’re so red all over, oh my god,” your boyfriend said, giggling.
you felt the heat rise up to your face once more. you reached for the nearest throw pillow and threw it at him, which he easily caught. “shut up. you caught me off-guard. what was that anyway? i hope you didn’t just say that cause you’re drunk.”
he chuckled, a beer now in his hand. he lied down once again next to you and offered the can he was holding in the other. with you probably too shy to even look at him, you couldn’t see the soft expression his eyes bore.
“i wouldn’t just say it.” with the usual unsure expression gone, he said it softly but surely. “i don’t know…it just felt like something i needed to tell you.”
you playfully kicked one of his feet. “and you decided the perfect time was right after we drank enough to wreck the apartment?”
“well, timing isn’t my strong suit either!”
you both giggled. a second later, you sat up. “i’ve always had a crush on you, too.” you looked at him, resting your chin on your hand. still feeling warmth spreading through your chest, you gave him a smile. “i don’t mind where or when you say it. i like it when you’re random and honest, even if we’re surrounded by chicken bones and vomit… i’d call you perfect, too.”
the two of you laughed again in unison. “ahh, i also appreciate how you make saying these things easy.”
surrounded by the ridiculous chaos of the night, a quiet understanding settled between you. you both had this unspoken connection for so long, filled with small moments of shared laughter, knowing looks, and quiet comfort. but tonight felt a little bit different.
as he watched you fidget with the throw pillow, trying to play off your own reaction, he felt a quiet relief. as per usual, he knew you’d understand him even when he didn’t know how to explain himself.
he glanced over at you again, his gaze softening as he took in the way you rested your chin on your hand, giving him that playful, affectionate smile. he shifted closer, his hand finding yours and giving it a gentle squeeze, as if to say everything he hadn’t yet figured out how to put into words.
the apartment was still a mess, and neither of you was exactly sober, but none of that mattered. here, in this simple, unpolished moment, he felt more certain than he ever had.
loving wasn’t always about grand gestures or perfect timing for the both of you. sometimes, they’re just these messy, awkward, and absolutely stupid moment that makes your relationship perfect. and you thank the stars that both of you had the same understanding of that.
“junhan, come here for a second,” you call, barely containing your excitement as you queue up the video.
he shuffles over, his guitar still slung across his shoulder, looking a little suspicious. “what are you up to?”
“just sit,” you say, grinning as you pat the spot next to you.
he gives you a side-eye but obeys, plopping down beside you. you’re practically bouncing as you press play, and he leans in to watch.
the video starts innocently enough— cute pictures of guitar, then slowly transitioning to pictures of you with the caption,
i love my guitarist side.
the music swells as the caption reappears:
but you don’t play guitar.
his brows furrow slightly, lips twitching like he’s trying to figure it out. but then the video cuts—right to him.
a clip of him shredding his guitar on stage. another of him practicing in the dorm, hair a little messy, head down in full concentration. the camera zooms in on his hands, and the final shot? a candid you took of him in the practice room, bathed in golden light, tuning his guitar like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
the screen fades to black, and you’re biting your lip, waiting for his reaction.
he doesn’t say anything at first, just stares at the screen, blinking. you watch his ears turn red before the rest of his face catches up, his hand automatically coming up to rub the back of his neck.
“wait,” he finally says, voice soft, “this is about me?”
you nod, grinning. “yup,” emphasizing the p. “you’re my guitarist side, duh.”
his lips part slightly like he wants to say something, but all that comes out is a quiet, “oh,” he looks down, then back at you, his gaze flickering between your face and the laptop like he’s still processing, “you made this?”
“yeah,” you nudge his shoulder playfully and proudly adds, “the one and only.”
there’s a pause, and then he lets out a small laugh, covering his mouth with his hand. his ears are bright red now, and you can tell he’s absolutely flustered.
“you’re insane,” he mutters, shaking his head.
“insanely sweet, uh-huh.” you correct, nodding your head as if you’re really agreeing with yourself.
he glances at you, and you swear his smile is the softest thing you’ve ever seen.
“you really think that?” he asks quietly, the teasing tone gone.
“think what?”
“that… i’m, like… part of you.”
his voice is so shy it almost breaks you. you lean back, trying to play it cool despite the sudden urge to squish his face. “well, yeah. obviously. you’re my guitarist, aren’t you?”
he doesn’t respond right away, just looks down at his hands like he’s trying to hide how much he’s smiling. he combs back his hair and licks his lips; actions that you notice he always does when he’s flustered. and then, finally, he looks up, with his eyes meeting yours. there’s this quiet intensity that makes your heart skip. “i like that,” he murmurs, voice soft but steady. “i think you’re part of me, too.”
it’s your turn to be flustered now, heat rushing to your cheeks as you look away. “OKAY,” while you’re not entirely sure why, you said that so defensively, and then added, “STOP.”
“what?” he asks, grinning now, voice teasing again. “you started it.”
“i regret everything.”
“no, you don’t,” he says, leaning closer to nudge your shoulder like you did earlier.
and when you peek through your fingers, his expression is so warm and fond that you know he’s right. you definitely don’t.
thank god for being chronically online and for not having anything else to do.
ughh i just noticed there’s no junhan inner thoughts ughhh (lmao). i made it my goal to always include a peek of the male pov bcs honestly y not. it helps my delusions. not even a week yet and univ ruined my brain already.
“long-distance call” (in which hj left his hoodie for u) fluff
—
it’s annoying. you don’t know if it’s your blanket, or if it’s the sound of the humidifier— perhaps it’s the chilly air brought by the upcoming Christmas season, but it’s annoying you to the highest degree. and then your phone rang, and a very familiar name appeared. right there it hit you; it wasn’t the humidifier, nor your soft and fluffy candy-colored blanket that annoys you. it’s hyeongjun.
ehem, missing hyeongjun, to be exact. especially right now that Christmas air is starting to make its presence known and you’re left alone, cold, in an empty apartment with no one to annoy, to hold, and to read manga in silence with.
sighing, you sat up on the sofa you were lying on and opened the message.
“can i call?”
you bit your lip as you type in your reply. not too long after, his icon appeared, accompanied by a very personal ringtone he himself had put. you answered it. the lighting from the call was dim. for a second you wondered if he was already trying to sleep. as far as you knew it was currently the middle of the day in the country he’s in— until you saw a smudge of eyeshadow on his lids, hiding beneath the white-framed spectacles your boyfriend is currently wearing. he must have just gotten back in their hotel.
“hello, how was your day?”
you fought the smile that was about to creep out from your lips. that’s very hyeongjun of him, you thought.
“you’re the one doing a tour, i’m the one who has to stay here and finish schoolwork. shouldn’t i be the one asking that?”
hyeongjun chuckled, giving you a view of the bunny smile you were missing the most. “there’s no need to fight whether who gets to ask. we can both be concerned for each other.”
how very hyeongjun of him, point two. always considerate. always rational. you miss annoying him so bad it feels like a crime being away from him for this long. besides, it’s not like you weren’t aware of how each other’s day had gone. albeit being miles apart, you two were very consistent in messaging one another when something exciting happened. you sighed again.
“what’s with the sigh? did something bad happen?” your shaggy-haired boyfriend asked.
“well, to quote tamia’s song, i’m officially missing you. to the extreme. everything annoys me now that you’re still not here,” you answered straightly. you moved to lie back down again, but this time, in a half-sitting position. you tugged at the blanket and looked at the window briefly. you didn’t know why. it’s midnight, it’s impossible to still see something at this hour.
you looked back at your screen. “you should have taken a shower first before calling me. this call could have waited.”
although his face bore the same serious expression, the hint of mischievousness did not escape your sight. “are you sure? sounds like you’re already missing me. to the extreme.”
you gave him a sharp look and rolled your eyes. this elicited another laugh from him. “i miss you too, you know. i saw and did a lot of things i wish i could’ve done with you. all i could think of was how you were gonna like them if you were here.”
“i know. too bad we won’t be with each other until the week after next. i’m losing all my strength.” you stated dramatically.
“can i roll my eyes at you now, too?”
you acted shocked and hurt to play along while he laughed. if his members could see him, they’d probably be jealous again. no one can break hyeongjun’s demeanor better than you do.
“have you opened the bag i left?” quietly, he asked after a while.
“not really. it seemed rude,” you answered. h was in the apartment before he left two weeks ago. you thought he had just forgotten it, like the many times he did every after he stays for the night so you didn’t think much of it and left it from where it was. now, his question motivated curiosity.
“can you open it for me?”
without further questions, you stood up. you went to your bedroom while still holding the phone in one hand. you saw the backpack confined next to your table.
“before you open it and become confused, the internet told me this is a great thing to do.”
your curiosity grew even bigger. you sat on the floor and positioned the phone at an angle that would both show you and the bag. “let’s see.”
a gasp left your lips as soon as you saw what was inside. you took out the hoodie slowly, taking time to let the soft fabric bless the skin on your arms, then smelled it.
hyeongjun spoke as soon as you did that. “it’s unwashed, but it’s not dirty. . . i used it just enough so you could still use it.”
the slight pause he made caused you to look back at the screen. the light was still dim on his side but it was so obvious he was feeling flustered as he kept on licking his lips and combing back his hair. you felt your heart figuratively expand.
“it smells like you,” you muttered, trying to act well and fight off the tears that were threatening to fall. both of you don’t need that. you sniffed it once again, his scent as comforting as him. like fresh linen mixed with a musky undertone, and a subtle trace of the breeze through the trees from outside. the clean smell of his cologne was also bursting in your nose.
“that’s the goal. i don’t really know how to do these kinds of stuff. i feel like a loser for having to look this up on the internet, but i knew this situation was bound to happen. i wanted to make you feel better.”
“you’ve been gone for two weeks already, why the hell did you just show me this now?!” you answered back, acting annoyed but in a playful way. it was a facade meant to conceal the huge amount of affection that dawned upon you for the boy on the screen.
not minding your annoyed tone, hyeongjun laughed, “i didn’t want the smell to disappear so soon! if i had told you that immediately after i left, you would have sniffed out all the smell by now.”
hyeongjun’s eyes softened as he took in the way you folded the clothing in half and hugged it.
he didn’t need to do all that, you thought, and yet he still did. to be loved is to be known; to be thought of; to be considered, indeed. hyeongjun may not be the loudest when it comes to showing his love, but he is probably the sincerest.
“and you would rather make me suffer? for two whole weeks!” with the same dramatic tone, you replied.
“oh my god, stop!” he answered while laughing. “you do realize that it’s also your fault for not checking, right? the bag is literally right there in your bedroom.”
“maybe,” you mumble, pretending to pout; being at a loss on what to say next to defend yourself. as much as you love moments like this where hyeongjun goes through all efforts possible, possibly exceeding his own reservations just to keep your bond intact, you still couldn’t help but wish he’s there beside you. and believe it or not, even though you’re miles apart, he’s feeling it, too.
“well, how about this: when i get back, i’ll give you as many headpats as you want. as an apology.”
you scrunch your nose, once again feigning annoyance. “why am i suddenly a pet now? headpats? really?”
he laughs, shaking his head. “i just thought you might like it. but if you’d rather skip the headpats…”
you roll your eyes, feeling a grin tugging at your lips despite yourself. “whatever, just don’t get carried away.”
still smiling, he adds, “okay, okay. i’ll bring something better than headpats, then.” he pauses for effect, and a playful glint appears in his eyes. “like, maybe, a freshly downloaded copy of that movie you keep mentioning?”
you couldn’t hide your excitement, even as you raise an eyebrow. “illegally downloaded, hm? who knew you were such a bad influence.”
“only for you,” he says quietly, a bit of shyness creeping in. “just promise you won’t download it. you need to watch it together with me. i’ll bring you snacks from here, too.”
you nod, hugging his hoodie even closer, feeling warm just from his promise. “deal. but only if you don’t skip the headpats.”
he smiles, the soft warmth in his eyes saying everything left unsaid.
hours go by without notice, and though he’s miles away, he’s right there, laughing at your stories, listening to your rambles, and filling your empty apartment with his presence. eventually, you’re both fighting sleep, your words slowing, voices quiet. “sleep,” he whispers. “i’ll stay on the line. i’m staying in this room to practice more anyway.”
and so you did, his soft breathing on the other end lulling you into sleep. and just before drifting off, you think, this may be the longest call of your life— hyeongjun’s, as well— but neither of you wanted the call to end, even when all that remains is the sound of the air from both lines, and the soon accompaniment of the guitar that was playing on his side.
