so, what did heian era women wear(with the 12 layered kimono)to tire their layers in place, since obis didn't really exist yet? would something like this work?^ (ik it looks like 6 but it was too hard for me to include 12 so pretend its twelve)
Hi again! You are pretty close to what junihitoe (Heian era "12 layered" robes) looked like yes :)
And don't be sad, junihitoe despite its name actually presented a wide array of robes number depending on wearer's eras and means ;)
Here is a video by renting shop Jidaiya showing how the collars are arranged once all the robes have been put on to obtain the desired kasane no irome effect:
And here is a pic showing the silhouette better:
You can find here a dressing tutorial explaining the order of the different layers:

Jūnihitoe Kohaku
i know this idea sounds weird but Think you could draw pierre from wii sports wii sports resort wii party and wii music as poodle dressed in a japnese Jūnihitoe outfit
I don't think it was werid but it least it was charming
Went thrifting today for fabric and did not expect to hit the jackpot!
Found these gems in the tablecloth/curtain section and I’m in love (the green is a slightly brighter spring color than what it looks like, the lighting isn’t great). This means I’m one step closer to putting together layer combinations for a junihitoe.
Already did a quick mock-up of the underrobe/hitoe feat. Mongo 💕 I’ll be redoing the hitoe to full length when I get better quality cloth than the bed sheet I used:
any evil women enjoyers here?

I just wanted to see Saku in a Junihitoe
I only cried twice with all the layers. WINNING!
