So Teaschooler really wants to make the chicken and waffle sandwich from Junior Bake-Off. Fine. Great. But what in the seven hells is a flame-grilled crisp??? I know it's a chip of some kind, but... what would the US equivalent of this be? Is it meant to be barbecue?
Watched the latest series of Junior Bake Off. I feel like it's a bit more laid back than the adult version and I feel like the challenges get the balance right between technical prowess and creativity. Plus I'm in awe of how talented they are given they're between 9 and 12 years old.
Also watched the latest series of Young Masterchef (the contestants on this are late teens to early twenties) which I enjoy. I just love its energy - a lot of it is tied into street food + social media trends - and I like the diversity of cuisines it showcases.
great british bake off technical challenges
adults: please bake a lemon merengue pie with vague instructions :))
kids: please sculpt a 1/10 replica of michelangelo’s david using a light genoise sponge and homemade strawberry jam rolled into the middle
Watched the latest series of Great British Bake off - I didn't mind the final 3/winner but I really wanted Tasha to win. I was pleased they made the technical challenges a bit easier because I think it's a better way of judging people's skills because it allows the truly exceptional to stand out (if that makes sense). They're doing another Christmas special this year + Junior Bake off is returning in the New Year.
been watching a lot of junior gbbo so I drew some of my fave kiddos

That is a whole mood.
Funniest part of episode 1 of heat 2 Junior Bake Off was the 9 yr old who said damn
