A tattoo-style embroidered tribute to Ed and Stede, my favorite idiots to flirt via swordplay.

I chose edelweiss and pansies for this design not only because Ed and Stede wear them in their hair in episode five*, but also because I like the meanings behind them. Both types of flowers symbolize love, but edelweiss also implies devotion, courage, and adventure, while blue & purple pansies signify loyalty, nobility, and thought (i.e., a person you can't stop thinking about) -- not to mention the obvious queer connotation. The red sword hilt is  a gentle reminder of Ed's metaphorical red silk heart, and the shimmer at the top is for a touch of moonglow ✨

Designed by me, stitched with cotton embroidery floss and painted with gouache on cotton fabric.

*at least that's what I'm choosing to believe

Because you can’t show queer fans an immaculate, stockings-clad gay dandy like Stede Bonnet and expect us NOT to feverishly imagine his garters.

Happy Towel Day, Dirktectives! In honor of the day, and the approaching 2021 Beginner Bang this weekend, I feel it’s time to finally share this @dghdabigbang​  Reverse Bang 2020 art collab featuring line art by the talented pixeliis and embroidery by me.

This art is being ficced by the incomparable @bookwhimses, who has EXTREMELY valid reasons for taking extra time with it. I got to read the draft, though, and I’m honored to have anything to do with this moving, insightful fic, especially since it turns out that bookwhimses and I have eerily similar thoughts & feelings about who Farah is and who she might become. 

Before I add up-close photos and notes, I want to thank our intrepid @dont-offend-the-bees for being so kind and encouraging during their last Reverse Bang as mod. You’re a star, Newt!

Y'all need to know that pixeliis is a champ, because he whipped up this fantastic line art based solely on my vague suggestion of “Farah looking queer as heck”:

While I wish I could have done more (the fabric tinting did NOT go according to plan), I tried to do right by the details from the line art, like Farah’s collar studs and ripped jeans, while also embellishing with details from my imagination (as well as chats with bookwhimses), such as Farah’s ombre hair color, rainbow wristband, and deep purple boots:

I know it’s far from perfect, but I’m proud of my first foray into fanart, and grateful to have worked with these two collaborators 💜

•I won't write anything that is just straight angst without any fluff/comfort, I just don’t feel like I’d be the best person to write stuff like that since comfort is my fav part of angst fics. Angst is fine but it has to have a happy ending

•I will be writing for any gender but fics that don't have a gender requested will be automatically gender neutral

•This blog is sfw only with suggestive themes occasionally (although my ao3 maybe have some non sfw fics eventually too), keep it wholesome for requests!

•Ship fic requests are VERY welcome, I'm a multishipper so I'd love to get requests for basically any ships excluding anything with minors or incest.

•Omegaverse requests are welcome but only sfw ones, if you don't request a certain dynamic for the character you're requesting then I'll pick them myself.
