11. My absolute favorite stone ever ever is labradorite! It's just so magic, the vibrant sheen in any of a rainbow of colors sets my heart alight with wonder and awe~

On the other hand, my favorite stone to really work with is amethyst. Shes a real psychic powerhouse in my experience.

i think the first birthday of his we spend together, i notice that the other guys dont really pay attention to his birthday because he kept saying that he doesnt want to celebrate and he doesnt like his birthday .. !!

but i think birthdays should be really special and i like making them so .. so i maybe plan something small for him later !! really nothing big, i dont want to make him uncomfortable 🍒 my plan is to ask for his apartment key when were out and about with the band on the pretence that i dont feel too good and want to rest up a bit :DD ill get him some onigiri from his favorite place because its his fav food and also something sweet maybe tiramisu ( i love tiramisu ) !!

law will probably text me that hes coming back to his apartment while im busy lighting up candles and throwing confetti across the floor and blowing up some balloons, so when he does open the door to his apartment he finds me on the floor with a pack of balloons in my lap and slightly red cheeks from all the exhausting blowing hahaha

i think hed rush to say that i really didnt have to do anything and that his birthday isnt anything special but im not having any of it .. !! 🙂‍↔️ maybe i tell him then lets make it special and before he has the chance to retort i kiss him (,,>﹏<,,)

i just came back from doing an introductory research on balinese masks and the hindu god garuda as a source of inspiration behind master chard. i just noticed you came to the same conclusions/headcanons as me, and id like to hear your thoughts on him. chances are you have more insight on the subject than i do lol

Hoi!╰(▔∀▔)╯ first of all thank you for asking me about this subject matter i truly am grateful that you did research on balinese masks.

As for me, i have to clarify that i am not balinese therefore i cant speak for the whole balinese culture and its people. Im just someone who admires balinese culture and its tradition so i may got some information wrong in this answer. Also, since this is mainly speculation about a fictional character there is going to be a lot of head canon on what i believe chard could represent as a whole.

Chard's mask bears a striking resemblance to indonesian dance mask called tari topeng (topeng dances). Topeng dances (to the iniciated) are famous all over the archipelago, but we're going to speak on Javanese and Balinese dance mask. Dancers and storytellers use these masks as a way to tell stories or old tales of legends and folk stories, stories such as the panji tales as for example. It is widely believed that these masks hold spirits that could possesed the dancers when they dance. The origins of topeng dances can be traced back to pre colonial times where they were mainly influence by animistic and hindu-buddhist religions.

Chard's mask has strong resemblance to a specific mask named the garuda mask. This comes from the beak of the design and also annointed with various instrinsic topeng details you will find in these masks. What makes Chard's mask unique is that it's jawless unlike most topeng dance masks where it covers the entire face.

At first i thought this is just kameoka(the game artist) creative liberties on the design. But after a little bit of digging, i found out there are people in these topeng dances called penasar. Penasar are people who uses a jawless mask to speak clearly and narrates stories of set dance, they often have 2 penasar providing 2 perspective to the narration, often switching between speaking and non speaking characters as the dance goes. Often times, these stories break conventional western stories by adding in current events or local rumors into these stories as well.

I believe that Chard's jawless mask is an intentional design where through his character design we can piece together his personality, in the game he is describe as someone suffering from delusions of grandeur and has theatrical displays, this might piece in together the fact that balinese dances has penasar, we could conclude that chard is a placeholder of a penasar where he narrates tales (albeit boosting his massive ego and grandious tales of himself) he often has theatrical entrances when he meets the main protagonists before entering into a battle. He loves to narrate on his dialogue and often used exagurated language when facing the main characters.

As for his Garuda inspired mask, i believe this is where it may sound contradictory. As for what a Garuda represent, they represent strength, protection, and divination as a servant to Vishnu a hindu God and protector against evil forces ( as much as i want to delve deep into garuda but unfortunately i cannot find more information on garuda mask roles in traditional topeng dances so this is as far as i can go) it may seem contradictory to Chard's representation as one of Magical starsigns main villians, but this is where i believe Chard could represent as moral corruption. Garuda resembles as a symbol of strength and protector but fall into the hands of someone like Chard this mask can be easily perversed into doing something evil or decadance of morals. I think Chard can be seen as a tale of someone who uses the image of good to do some unspeakable evils, and how the image of good can be used to do something evil.

And i think thats all i can answer! Im writing this answer at 12 am as i have trouble sleeping so i decide to go on a ramble on my favorite villains in magical starsign. Like i mention before i cannot speak on behalf of balinese people and their culture so i may got some information wrong in this post (feel free to critique me on where i got things wrong)

ive also got marina, who i think is a summertime event toon, idk if i wanna make her a main or not, but she's very much so a lifeguard type character! I think she might've genuinely just been made for a little pool safety psa thing that Gardenview made when they hypothetically expanded their park to include a pool! she's very fun but consistently nervous bc she cares about her friend's safety maybe a little..too much.

I liked both of these suggestions a whole lot! I will have to write up an actual thing for her eventually, but she's mostly a survivalist/support!

I also have an idea for an art history themed toon that I might get done soon! she's a framed painting with mona lisa inspiration! im glad u like them :3
