i've seen, like, three things about athena and pallas and now i actually can't stop thinking about them- someone help me.

OKAY THIS NEEDS EXPLAINING

so i had an idea for an...interesting epic au

a spinner decides which character is which. i inputted every epic character in a spinner, and rolled for two characters. i removed those characters from the spinner, and swapped their roles

for example, if the spinner landed on odysseus and then athena, their roles in the story would be swapped (this happened lol)

i made a couple of rules that make this easier. the goal is to make a story that at least kinda makes sense. some might change/more might be added

-each character should mostly be consistent with their original version. for example, i probably won't randomly make a character a god. i say 'probably' because for the gods that swapped with mortals, i made them mortals because there was literally no other way that made sense. for me, at least

-the character swapped only swaps the role, not relationships or connections. so my hera swapped with apollo, but that doesn't mean apollo is now with zeus

okay, so the story so far-

(ig this is pre-story info)

in this au, odysseus's trick to act insane to avoid going to the war works, and he does not go to the war. because of this, the ithacan forces (eurylochus, polites, crew, etc.) do not go either

the trojan horse does not exist in this au. it is the trojan horses, as in this au, they do it ares's way, and break into troy and kill and shit with blessed horses, who pull their chariots (rethinking this[i wanted to keep something of the trojan horse])

also, athena and odysseus do not meet prior. odysseus does still have a leg scar, but from a random boar, because i think that's cool

for reasons that will later be determined, some gods were turned to mortals, likely as a punishment. the gods turned to mortals lose their powers and skills.

athena was one of them. odysseus, by this point, is forty (five?), like he is at the end of the original. telemachus is twenty.

athena, despite being mortal, seems young, and odysseus mistakes her as a girl about telemachus's age (but older) and mentors her.

athena also goes by a different name, which i haven't decided on yet
