Can't stop thinking about a Junko x Taka family life. Specifically raising Kaede together. I really think Kaede's their kid, it's just too funny imagining Junko living a normal life in any capacity, and even better with Kaede in the mix. Maybe even that bogus twin they talked about in the last chapter.
Just imagining Kiyotaka being so very adamant that he raise the kid right, so he goes into excruciating detail about what's right and what's wrong, and for the most part agreeing that Junko not step in when it comes to teaching those lessons, but that doesn't work because - as Sondheim wrote, and Bernadette Peters sang: children will listen - and Kaede learns a thing or two while watching her mama lie her way out of situations, setup schemes both long-term and short and dirty to get what she needs, plot the downfalls of the people that annoy her, and it culminates to create the person we see in DRV3: extremely moral, upbeat and energetic, but with a conniving and planning side that comes through during the first chapter, the investigation, and the trial.
Basically she learns from dear old dad what's the right thing to do, and she learns it well. Morals are well-defined, she must protect her friends, lift them up, and make sure they're living their best lives and preserve life as best she can...
All the while she learns from dear mama that there are many ways to achieve your goals, and that sometimes you must lie, you must plan, you must obfuscate, you must steal and cross lines to get what you want.
Even if it means killing the mastermind of the killing game. What's their life compared to all your friends?
Even if it means avoiding the one and only opportunity to leave the killing game entirely because what you've done was wrong.
Even if it means pushing your new emo boyfriend to the brink to ensure he has what it takes to tackle the tasks ahead.
I just really love the idea of that. Also Shuichi being scared as fuck whenever he meets dear old mama Junko is something In need to draw in this world.
