I know I’m usually upbeat and comical but today it’s kind of hard. There’s so much going on these days, that has me perplexed, sad and shaking my head.   I am starting to really grasp the fact that each day I’m alive is a blessing…Something not guaranteed…something not promised…something to be cherished. Each day I have with my family and friends is a gift that I must be mindful not to squander.  The song Grateful by B-Shock featuring Kartez Marcel and Jus B sums it up in a nutshell with a simple hook that sings,

Yes! This is exactly how I’m feeling right now. The beat (which has a cool sample running throughout) is perfect! It captures the emotional mood of the track and makes me nod my head from beginning to end.  I love it when a rap is able to turn down and just flow with the music. It allows me to really focus on every word.  Each verse in this song gives a testimony which shares different life experiences that have not all been good but have inspired a feeling of gratitude. Let’s face it, if circumstances had been different any of us could’ve been gone but God, in His divine wisdom and mercy, saw fit to keep us from all manner of hurt, harm and danger. This means that we have yet another day to do His will. I’m grateful for this blessing…I’m grateful I’m alive today, I’m grateful…
