Hello Morning-Jaime Woods
Hello Morning! Hello beautiful world! Hello glorious life that God has chosen to bless me with another day of!
The moment I open my eyes every morning (or at least by the time I gather my thoughts) I consciously realize that Ā I've made it into the next day. I feel gratitude to be alive. I thank God for another day. Maybe this is because I'm getting older. I certainly don't remember doing this as a child, or even as a young adult for that matter. So when I heard this song by Jaime Woods, I immediately chose it as my new morning theme song ( yep I said theme song). It's the type of song that forces you to be grateful no matter what you are going through. The lyrics read like poetry and quiet my worrisome and busy mind like a lullaby (or in this case, the opposite of a lullaby). Accompanied at first, by only an acoustic guitar andĀ light percussion, verse one is soft and engaging. It goes... Standing at the cusp of the rising sun Should I run to the horizon Or should I flee while I still have a chance Before the light exposes What I'm not ready to let go of (The music and BGVs start to build) When I see yellow burgundies I hear natureās melodies Singing a new song Yesterday has passed away As the clouds swallow the stars Wave goodbye to all the scars From yesterday's rain And now I say... Wow!!! Just when I think I've heard what ABSOLUTELY MUST be the best part of the song...in comes the hook which just takes my breath away. It simply says... Hello morning, hello morning, yea yea Hello morning, hello good morning yea The musical arrangement is brilliant, taking its time to breathe and develop. Opening up when the chorus begins like a flower revealing its beautiful colors hidden inside, verse two of this lovely poem says: The world looks different when the sun is gone Fighting monsters in the darkness To find that they're just shadows all along Nothing's the same when the lights gone And as I wait for the sunrise Open my eyes and say goodbye When I see yellow burgundies I hear nature's melodies greeting a new dawn Morning wash the black away As the clouds swallow the stars Wave goodbye to all the scars From yesterday's rain And now I say... And then back to the hook: Hello morning, hello morning, yea yea Hello morning, hello good morning yea The bridge is cautionary yet encouraging remindingĀ me that: The morning comes every day But every day is hard to face If I hold on to yesterday And then that last soul stirring hook movesĀ me effortlessly intoĀ my day with joy and gladness!Ā The words, the beautiful simple melody,Ā the angelic background vocals,Ā the amazing production, it's all just a wonderful concoction of goodness guaranteed to start even the worst of days off on the right foot. Hello Morning! *snaps fingers as Jaime finishes her poetry set to music* Yes! Hello Morning!
